I saw 3d. It was NEAT...but it didn't add much to the overall movie. This wasn't Avatar where the environment was a character in itself.
The main 3d effects were of Spidey's swinging around and his body contortions throughout the city buildings.
The fights were pretty much the same as they were in 2d.
So if you like neat 3d acrobatics, go for it. Otherwise 2d is fine.

The post credit bits was really eh as well.
Post processed 3d = most of the film looks like it could have been 2d as well. Saw this at IMAX and I feel somewhat cheated. AUS. Biggest IMAX on the planet. Underwhelming
That very last shot was embarrassing.

Garfield is great casting. Someone described him as a dick before seeing the film and it clouded my vision a bit but I enjoyed his persona greatly. Stone is a very pretty lady.
Bad guy was there only for the most compulsory reasons being a super hero movie and I'm glad the film focused on the beginner tale as much as possible. I thought the Coldplay segment was cool, I liked the web-shooting/suit segment (as short as it was). The movie felt snappy once it got going.

Its normal, the tuesday number included midnights, if you exclude midnights it made 27 million on tuesday, which means non midnight to wednesday drop Was only 10-15 %
I never felt that when I originally saw the movies but I recently rewatched Spidey 1 and 2 and some scenes with Tobey and Kirsten just feel so off. Theres that one bit right after Petes birthday party when they are talking outside and it doesnt even feel like they are speaking to eachother. Its so awkward.

Right, just got back from a second viewing (went with a bunch of people from work, it's all good!). It is definitely better the second time around. Small things that I missed the first time make more sense now, the motivation of Connors seems more grounded in his character than before, all of the talk of interspecies recombinant DNA makes more sense this time around.
The crane scene was still pretty lame, but it wouldn't be a Spider-Man movie without a corny "New York, fuck yeah" scene. The score didn't grow on me, at all. In fact I have told people in the bank with links to SPE that they need to get Hans Zimmer in if they want a better score next time. That or get Elfman back now that Raimi has gone.
I was also talking to some of the film finance guys that were there, they were saying that SPE would be insane to rewrite the Vanderbilt screenplay from scratch, especially since Orci and Kurtzman are involved, they were saying that they wouldn't finance such a movie and would only do so on the basis that Cloves was brought back in and Orci/Kurtzman dumped. They also said that Sony need to get a move on and lock Webb down for ASM2 or this whole exercise will come to nought as the tone of the next movie will be ruined. Since these guys are pretty close to Sony I hope they can get across that Orci and Kurtzman need to be dumped and to get Cloves and Webb on board for ASM2.

I don't think the score is actually bad. But it was used terribly. You expect the main hero theme to be reserved for just a few fuck awesome scenes, but it's constantly playing in loop. And it's even playing during some of the more solemn moments. If Horner was in charge os how it was used in the movie, then yes, he definitely needs to be replaced.

I disagree, but the best rating I can give his score is "unoffensive". I think in any scenario there would have been issues with the hero theme for Spider-Man. The worst offense here for Horner was playing the theme at some of the most needless times.

It's the incidental music in low-key scenes that bothered me most. It sounded super, super cheap. And though I mostly hate Horner's work, one thing I would rarely call it is cheap. His work usually sounds waaaaaay overproduced.

Saw it the other day, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Better than my expectations, which were very low for this cashgrab reboot.
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were great castings, so much so that I wish they'd resolve any licensing issues between Marvel and Sony Pictures to get Andrew Garfield's Spiderman in the next Avengers movie.

While he could be 100% right, I don't put much faith in an actors take on things. The sequel is currently being written by people who didn't write this movie and we don't know who is going to direct, so the mystery man will be whoever the fuck the writers and studio want it to be for the sequel.
