Half the film takes place at night. I saw it in 2D but I can imagine the web swinging could look cool in 3D.

So what's the deal with the web shooters? Is that more faithful to the comic than him being able to make the web himself?
It actually would have been ballsy for them NOT to kill Ben. Or, possibly, have him die in such an unexpected fashion that everyone going "Ok, NOW he's gonna die" gets proven wrong so many times they stop predicting.
They should have had Sandman kill him out of nowhere.
I liked it. My only real beef with it is that the villain just sucks. SM1 and 2 had amazingly iconic villains, but here you had this shitty looking, generic as fuck reptile.
Spidey's moves were fucking awesome, so were those first person perspective moments.
Stuff like property of Peter Parker was indeed pretty weak. It's like the script writers couldn't find clever ways to make certain plot points progress so they just forced it. Camera having peters name on it was a pretty weak way to have lizard learn the identity. Peter sneaks into the lab too freakin easily (grabs name badge, real rodrigo shows up has no ID and is escorted out), then later sneaks into super secret lab door even easier with worlds stupidest key card system with no security cam. Cranes suddenly available a great distance away from each other with everyone available to use them. Dude with rescued kid coincidentally in right place at right time to catch spiderman directly with a crane in worlds most improbable moment. Captain police offer stupid enough to fire shotguns at regenerating giant dinosaur guy at point blank range. Parker throws football so hard it bends the goal post and no one gives a shit (that wasn't advancing plot, was just stupid)
Probably more examples if you want to dig deep. These things will keep the movie from being standard setting good. But, the portrayal of spiderman himself I think makes the film enjoyable for fans. Movie fans will enjoy the action. People that disect movies to death may not have a good time
Green Goblin was amazingly iconic???????????
dafoe and franco's depiction of their descent into madness added character and made them so.
sandman + venom won't well carved out = meh
I got to say; molina's dc ock is fucking amazing still. Probably the best spiderman movie villian.
I have a feeling this movie's BO take is going to tank on bad word of mouth.
Green Goblin was amazingly iconic???????????
Capone: We were debating whether it was a prison or a mental institute.
RI: It's not a zoo. [laughs] I kept seeing it as maybe a mixture of both. Then a representative from OsCorp appears miraculously in the room. How he gets in there and how he leaves, we don’t know. Maybe we will find out. But it’s not Norman Osborn.
Capone: It’s not? You can say that?
RI: Yeah. But it is someone who is in the employ of Norman Osborn without question.
Capone: Someone we're familiar with, who we don’t know is employed by Osborn?
RI: Yeah.
Capone: Okay, interesting.

Movie made 22-24 million on wednesday, -30% from OD tuesday
interview with Rhys Ifans confirming that the man in the after credits scene is NOT Norman Osborn, is pretty cagey about it. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/56771
Vulture?
I really have no idea at this point. Hobgoblin?
You only post negative news.
Why are you so negative?
Those numbers are a little worrisome. I assume July 4th should be a big movie going day? Or are people busy doing other things?
You're completely conflating plot, theme and motivation. Connors and Dr Ock were motivated by the same thing: using science to improve the quality of life for mankind. Thematically you may prefer Spider-man 2 but in terms of character motivation and objective they are identical.
How is it negative
On day 2
Return of the king fell 50%
Transformers 3 fell 42 percent
Passion of th christ 44 percent
Spider man 2 41 percent drop
Its normal, infact july 4th cushioned the fall
You need to realise how box office works
Well, I would have considered that July 4th would have brought the number up since it was a full day off for everyone in the US. That's why the drop looks negative to me.
Now this is how you make a spiderman movie.
Tobey Maguire was so bad in the other movies, so was Kirsten Dunst, her acting is bad and is very hard on the eyes.
If a sequel does get made, for the love of God, get a new composer.
James Horner is just the worst.

Doctor Connors was in the teaser. If he has a part in the next movie, I can't think of too many other reasons to show him off again if the man spider isn't involved. Unless they try to go with venom again perhaps.
I don't think the score is actually bad. But it was used terribly. You expect the main hero theme to be reserved for just a few fuck awesome scenes, but it's constantly playing in loop. And it's even playing during some of the more solemn moments. If Horner was in charge os how it was used in the movie, then yes, he definitely needs to be replaced.
I disagree, but the best rating I can give his score is "unoffensive". I think in any scenario there would have been issues with the hero theme for Spider-Man. The worst offense here for Horner was playing the theme at some of the most needless times.
It's the incidental music in low-key scenes that bothered me most. It sounded super, super cheap. And though I mostly hate Horner's work, one thing I would rarely call it is cheap. His work usually sounds waaaaaay overproduced.

IMAX 3D might as well be IMAX.
So what was the post-credits scene, exactly?
(I refuse to stick around for post-credits scenes because I despise them.)
