So for those who play Ski Safari...

One of the new challenges is to transfer from a wolf to an eagle.

But whenever I hit an eagle while on a wolf, the eagle sits on the wolf as a passenger.

The hell am I supposed to do?!

I came here to post this exact thing! Can't be right.

Meanwhile, I nailed the "eagle through a cave" and "blue boost cloud burst" missions. Nearly bought everything in the shop too. Will be a shame if that achievement is glitched.

Tried a few unheralded games.

Maple Story has been released as a mobile game. I played for about an hour but I just don't get the appeal. Very grindy and very dated graphics. The only plus is that it is free.

Puzzle Dungeons is a match 3 game with an RPG motif. There is leveling up, there is special magic, there are three different classes and bosses to mix it all up. It's a credible addition to the genre, just don't expect to be blown away. 99 cents and made for mobile.

Can't stop playing Ski Safari. But I'm stuck on the wolf-eagle transfer too.

.
Edit: Not gaming related, but epic iOS imgur uploader Picup just got the iPad and multitasking support it deserves. Absolutely essential if you use mobile gaf.

Quoted for posterity. App is incredible, update is great.

I was on the bus today with a friend and he was playing a game called Pocket RPG on his iPhone. It looked sort of like a Diablo clone. Is it any good? Any impressions from GAF?

It's surprisingly entertaining, and because the Action RPG/ dungeon crawler genre isn't very populated on iOS, it's definitely one of the best choices you have :)

is it me or is CSR Racing extremely greedy to the point of it being unplayable. I can't even race my car because I'm out of gas!

I loved it, but I found the archer to be the only truly playable hero of the three.

Also, I'll get Outwitters once I get home and send out some invites for async play. If I like it I might buy extra stuff, but if it's anything as good as Hero Academy (for which I bought all teams) consider that a done deal :p

So any tips for newbies with Outwitters? I'm digging the game so far, it's pretty slick. Don't care too much for the visuals from an aesthetic perspective, although they do very clearly convey what's going on.

Stinking Outwitters is the App of the Week. I couldn't stand that game. Unbelievable. Summoner Wars was robbed.

SW is not even New and Noteworthy!

Good tips from Outwitters beta testers. What Outwitters league are y'all in? I was placed in Clever at first but won against a player from the Gifted league and I was bumped up to Gifted.

So I purchased Pocket RPG two and a half hours ago and just finished playing. So fucking good. I decided to buy it for my 64gb BlackBerry Playbook instead of my 2nd generation iPod Touch though. It cost $2 more, but the screen size made it worth it. I had frame rate issues and it would go between 25-20 fps depending on what was going on, but it didn't really bother me at all.

The game is so fucking incredible otherwise. I don't know what it is about it but it's strangely fun. What I'm doing is repetitive as hell and yet it is somehow enjoyable. I've never played Diablo or other dungeon crawlers (even though I've heard about them) so this is a whole new territory for me. It's probably my favorite game on phones/tablets already. I have a few questions though...

-When I want my weapons to be fast do I go for - speed or + speed? I'm kind of tired but it feels like it makes no difference.
-What are similar games on Xbox 360, Wii, Vita, and 3DS? I want to explore the genre now that I know I like it.
-Is there a way to quick save?

drag racing is such a good concept for the platform, but I have never played one on ios that wasn't designed as a sleazy iap-bottleneck

I sent some of you guys GC invites for Outwitters, but the ingame-GC list doesn't filter out those who already have it so it's hard to tell... once you accept my friend requests just hit me up with an invite, or if I missed you, add me anyway, GC is smiley1790. I sent KidInsomnia a request, since I already have you in my friendlist :P Learning by trying.

EDIT: NVM, that was the HERO ACADEMY list I had you in. whoops. Everyone please send me some invites after accepting the GC requests/add me on GC :D

Keep the lethality on zero, if any mutations arise remove them, and keep focusing on infection. Once the entire population is infected blast the lethality to include Total Organ Failure (you require around 80 points, so retain them from earlier). It can take many years but it works.
Sir, you're a lifesaver. I am now free from Plague Inc. addiction. :D

Seems like Outwitters is the new hotness... Do you guys think having a persistent single-player campaign would have helped the experience much, in terms of giving you guys additional practice against AI, or at least having more things to do while waiting for opponents' turns to come in? Or is the lack of single-player a small blip in the long haul?

how so? I find it to be good for me. It takes an hr or so for fuel to recharge. And it takes a few min to use it all up.

Does bitsize gaming right.

Wrong! The new hotness should be Summoner Wars! Though I don't see it even listed on the top 200 free games list in the app store:( I hope that changes now that people can download the game.

I don't think a campaign is needed in Outwitters, but an AI would be nice. As someone else noted, at least there is local play to let you just fool around with the game a bit. Summoner Wars has an AI. And keeps beating me:)

Developer said:
Yeah, that wolf->eagle challenge is wrong

Sorry about that - we've got a hot-fix rolling in very shortly to fix the issue - can't say how long it will take to pass submit, but we're on it.
:/

Yeah I'm pretty sure that was related to people being unable to download it, A LOT of people had trouble. Only this evening everything was sorted out...

It is, but it's workable. Just wait for your fuel to recharge. I use the gold I earn from levelling up to refuel occasionally too. When you're moving up a tier, wait for a call with a decent 50% off deal before buying a new car.

I'm on Tier 5 now, racing a Mustang Cobra Jet and dropping 14.x second half-miles and 9.x second quarters. Haven't spent a penny.

Hey guys,

In two weeks time I will have an iPad and I'm quite excited to play with it. I was wondering if there are any games similar to Harvest Moon?

Cheers,

We're all waiting for the Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing games to make their way to the iOS platform, even in spirit (Pokemon wouldn't be bad either).

I wouldn't have touched the SP if there was one.

This isn't the type of game I would ever want to play against AI in.

I downloaded SW, opened it, was confused, and deleted it. So, yeah, I agree with their assessment of the game, I suppose.

Magic Tree is about the closest thing to a HM game I think I've seen, though it's still kind of a time-management game. It's free, though, and worth checking out.

I'm finally slowly starting to get a handle on Summoner Wars. Got 2 wins against the AI out of ~25 games... =P

I can tell its a good game with a lot of depth. But on the flipside, there's too much for casual people and doesn't feel accessible at all. It doesnt help that you can lose (i got slaughtered) during the tutorial... I almost deleted the game after losing ~20 times in a row..but I guess I really wanted to see why it's being so highly praised. While the basic rules is easy to grasp to me, the sheer number of units for all armies and the number of "rules bending" abilities is daunting. Good thing for me that I'm starting to remember some abilities and am coming up with some tactics that work for me.

Maybe for boardgame people, and people who like games like Hero Academy or Final Fantasy Tactics type may like and get this game more? But for people not into these games (or hate randomness) may not find Summoner Wars fun at all. Definitely not a game for anyone.

Hehe I might as well add you on GameCenter if I'll be playing you in Outwitters too.

Also downloading Summoner Wars. Now that I have an iPhone I'm really getting into iOS gaming!

Someone tell me why Outwitters is so good. This IS what all the cool kids are playing, right?

It's just different than the async games I have been playing. Set points per turn with the ability to do whatever you want with them (make a unit, move, attack, buff). Games can be much faster than Hero Academy, I won one in 5 turns. Maps actually have different layouts instead of the same layout with things moved around. The different leagues give me incentive to keep playing. Plus 2v2 is just plain awesome.
