Outwitters plays like a cross between Hero Academy and Advance Wars. But like Hero Academy originally, Outwitters is multiplayer only. There's no AI. While there's a bit of help text when you first start and the game doesn't look too complicated - move, attack, build more from a selection of 6 (only 1 of which is unique to your team), repeat - no AI makes it hard to really get a feel for the game.
Random find from last night; Billy the Painter. It's new and free (on iPhone) for a limited time.
Ski Safari > Jetpack Joyride, come at me GAF (or don't, I don't know what the general consensus is here)Whilst the Ski Safari rips off alot of Jetpack Joyride, the missions are alot harder. Although, I did just unlock another slope, which was an unexpected surprise.![]()
Maybe I'll make a video of me playing with it.
Yeah, it's pretty great. I am finding a couple of the missions a bit annoying though. I've been trying to grind on 2 more distance signs for about an hour this morning!Ski Safari > Jetpack Joyride, come at me GAF (or don't, I don't know what the general consensus is here)
Dammit. Those two sound lame. I'm sure alot of these are down to luck, which is something that can't be said for JJ.I'm having difficulty doing these two:
- guide an eagle safely through an entire cave
- cloud burst through 3 clouds with the blue boost
But man, I love every addition they've made from what I've played so far. The only upgrade I've purchased is the coin magnet, but even THAT'S cool because while it does get you more coins, you lose the ability to boost from getting a line of coins.
I doubt any other powerups will have off-setting aspects like that, but it's still such a cool thing to see.
I agree totally.Ski Safari > Jetpack Joyride, come at me GAF (or don't, I don't know what the general consensus is here)
It's easier than the others, and has some fun adventure elements. I think you can take a pass. BUT, if you don't have Grand Prix Story or Pocket League Story, those ones are awesome and similar to Game Dev StorySo tempted by Epic Astro Story, but is it another Kairosoft game where you just randomly build things next to each other and hope they somehow form some type of specific group? I loved Game Dev, but hated some of the other games because of this
Was Kingdom Rush the T&D game everyone was recommending? What makes it special over other T&D games?
I bought Bejeweled the other day and managed to download it over 3g, when did they raise the downloadlimit from 20 megs?

Anyone know?
Any comments on Distant Star? It is in offer for 1,59 and I kinda dig the art style.

In March when the iPad 3 launched.
Raised from 20 to 50MB.
Anyone managed to complete Plague Inc. using all the different disease types on Brutal? I have just the Fungus left, but it is driving me INSANE! All my usual tactics aren't working and the Cure gets developed before I can infect even 50% of the world...
Anyone want to try an get a 2v2 Outwitters game friendly going today? Also, anyone want to be my 2v2 partner in ranked matches?
AHHH!! Installed it but forgot to try it lol!
Is it A-Sync?!
Yup, fun so far! I haven't purchased the other teams and I'm still learning the ropes but I like it.
Well, for starters, the level design is more interesting yet still more straightforward than most other TD games. But perhaps the most significant thing that stands out is your ability to control the placement of units like reinforcements and heroes. You can also set spawn points for melee units, so the game often feels a little like Ninja Town and Lock's Quest. Outside of that, the game's balanced damned near perfectly, and rather than sending lifeless waves of enemies, the waves in KR are made up of interesting and challenging enemies that require you to formulate strategies on the fly. It just has that bit of fairy dust that's hard to describe, but I can assure it's much more than hype. The game is just damned fun.
That's a tricky question. Because it doesn't really do anything new for a TD, but the amount of polish it has puts it into a class by itself. Every aspect of the game is well thought-out and executed.

Mind explaining what the game's about/how it is?
Pretty much describes it perfectly. It's free and fun so no reason to not check it ou. GC name is Crodrig for anyone that wants to play.
WOLF BLITZER GET IT
Playing HA and OW simultaneously, I'd still give the advantage to HA but I'm 100% sure that's due to familiarity. But also, there's a lot of variety to what classes and races and can do and little subtleties in HA. As far as I can gauge right now, a sniper - for example - does the same thing no matter what class you are. The only difference is in each race's Special Class.
I could be wrong, though.
That's right, but I like it that way. It means that every battle is won pretty much by strategy alone, rather than your opponent having paid for a team that happens to be better suited to the situation than yours
"Having paid" makes it sound way filthier than how HA actually works. I think it's perfectly fair to pay for a team that requires a different style of gameplay and or strategy. As it stands, there's no team in HA that exists that just stomps over every other team.
gives me no games when I do an Itune search...
