Some good deals at PCWorld/Currys/Dixons group of stores. Not all great games, but thought some might make good kids presents?
Wii Rayman Origins £4.97
Wii Mario Sports Mix £4.97
Wii Just Dance 2 £4.97
3DS Nintendogs & Cats: French Bulldog £4.97
3DS Lego Pirates of the Caribbean £4.97
Likely limited stock (clearance prices) so order quick if interested.

This promotion is much better than you make out.

Seriously, if you live near a PC World/Curries, get your arse there now. Or just call them up, as they reserve stuff. However, apparently their database may be incorrect, and the correct prices won't show unless they physically scan the game. So don't be dicouraged if they say there's no offers.

I have sat next to me:

5 copies of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS
3 copies of Mario Sports Mix on Wii
2 copies of Dragon Quest IX on DS
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story on DS
Rayman Origins on Wii

I bought them all at £4.97 each. That'll cover a lot of my Christmas/birthday shopping for the rest of the year.

At least I'm not selling them. :-( I'm just planning ahead.

Besides, they have plenty of stuff left (even the games I bought); I didn't clear the place out.

Because you didn´t have enough cash on you or because you felt you should leave some for your fellow gamers? :-)

J/k, hope you´ll have a great Xmas. ;-)

The second; actually, a couple were standing nearby when I asked the staff to price-check some games for me, and they became quite interested, so I let them have a second copy of Rayman, and even took them to the rest of the games on offer and pointed them out, as they were looking for games for their kid. The staff were as surprised by the offer as they were, so they didn't know anything about it. They ended up buying Rayman, Mario Sports, and Professor Layton: Pandoras Box.

I used to work at Gamestation, and old habits die hard. :-p

Availability: Usually dispatched within a month

hmmm, good luck with that.

Honestly I don't know how they got this. This game is one of the rarest PAL X360 games out there with used copies going for 70+ pounds on Ebay (last time I checked). New ones are considered a true rarity.

Good luck to all who purchase this. Let us know if they ever ship it. :)

I decided to give it a go, and ordered a copy. I ordered a copy of Catherine from Zavvi when they had it on offer for £14.99, and though it took them nearly a month to deliver it, I did get it eventually.

I know Tales of Vesperia is a little bit cheaper on Games on Demand, but since I've never played ToV before, I want to know I can trade it in/sell it if I don't like it.

I only posted the games that I saw in stock online - I noticed Dragon Quest IX and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, but both were out of stock online and in all my local stores (I really wanted Mario & Luigi myself)

I never seem to have much luck with instore offers, and always feel they are abit of an unfair tease since it seems to be so random which areas/stores actually have any stock - especially with the PCWorld/Currys group since their stock system isn't very acurate, and they often seem to sell reserved items.

They are good deals though - I just prefer to post only online deals, since at least if you are around when the offer starts you stand a chance of ordering - if you see what I mean.

Ah, don't worry; I wasn't having a go or anything. I was just letting people know that it's even better than expected. It's thanks to your post that I went to PC World to begin with.

Does anyone know if Game charge up front for pre-oreders or not? I want this...

Got a -75% off of Serious Sam 3 on steam code valid for most european countries, quote to reveal

So the Tales of Vesperia on Zavvi has changed to: 'Availability: Sold out'

Did any of you who ordered get word on your order going through? Or did they never have it in stock in the first place.

They never had it in stock, but I imagine they've found some stock available somewhere so they know they're getting a few copies.

I received a "thank you for your order" e-mail after ordering; I don't expect to hear anything further for a while. When I ordered Catcherine from them at £15, it took a month to arrive, and they sent me a "sorry for the delay" e-mail about two weeks after I ordered.

I ordered Goldeneye and Splatterhouse that were 'usually dispatched within a month'.

Goldeneye turned up after 6 weeks. I'm still waiting for Splatterhouse 2+ months later...

What's with Zavvi making sure their codes don't work on pre-orders now? So annoying. There's nothing I buy on that site other than pre-orders. :lol

It's also the reason why I was encountering issues in the past with the codes, so thanks for the heads up earlier in the thread.

Just wait till the day of release, you can then apply the code :P
You'll just wait a few more days.

GMG has thrown a wobbler and their forum is full of people who can't complete checkout. Same happened to me, hope the charges didn't go through :/

Edit: Got a reply to my support ticket, it seems Chrome was the problem. Tried ordering with IE and it went through first time. Weird!

I went into my local PC World early today and there was nothing except a sole copy of Abba the Game for Wii. XD I expect someone like Shotgun Kiss already cleaned out the good stuff!

I sent Zavvi a Tweet: I can see the item is out of stock at the moment, our suppliers are currently looking into this and should be with us shortly.

just a heads-up for Dutch neogaf. Yourgamezone will receive some copies of Tales of the Abyss 3DS next week. At €33 it's not a bad deal.

i have a voucher code from the site Raptr to get 75% off serious sam 3 through steam. i already have the game so ill give the code to someone here.

drop me a pm if you want code i only have 1 though.

To be fair, Christmas is just around the corner...

Like I said, I made sure I left them with plenty of each game (and even gave up a game I took to the counter to a couple who were nearby), and considering that I'm the one who actually pointed out they were doing Zelda and other good titles, I gave everybody here fair notice to actually get there as soon as possible, like I did.

Considering the point of this thread is to save money, I'm not going to apologise for doing just that. Maybe most people leave their Christmas shopping until December, but I always do mine throughout the year by looking out for deals like this.

I can understand hating on the kind of people who are bragging on HotUKDeals about buying up everything they had in stock and shifting the lot on eBay. But all of the games I bought are either for myself, or I will be giving away whenever a suitable time comes. I spent/saved money; not made it. Because of my circumstances, I don't have the luxury of turning down a chance to save money.

I *do* apologise if I seemed tactless, as that wasn't my intention. But I was letting everybody know they could buy more than one copy of each game in case they wanted to do the same thing I did. I figured it would be hypocritical of me not to point that out.

The average person on the street isn't going to know about this deal. I'd much rather someone on here grabbed all the stock in their respective local store and sold them on here or used them as presents than the vultures on HDUK manage to grab all the stock and sell them at a profit via ebay.

Physical copy of Tales is very hard to find. There going for like 60-90 euro's on ebay.
So its a very good price sir!

I'm reading this about the place but when I turn to ebay, there's buynow 40 quid, and lots priced in the same region. Is there something i'm missing here?

Well, there's been some more new copies of it around lately, so the price will have gone down. The same thing has happened with a load of NIS America games which have mysteriously reappeared at retail. Hyperdimension Neptunia being a prime example, which has halved in value on eBay in the last month or so due to retailers suddenly getting more stock in after a year without any.

It was as high as about £60, but that's dropped since it was released on Games on Demand for £20 and people realised they could play it cheaper. Any value it's holding is because of collectors and luddites, but the market of people who just wanted to play the game can now get it elsewhere and so the price has dropped.

I saw it pre-owned in GAME for £25 a few months back. Didn't have any money on me at the time and then that store closed down.

Interesting, the only edition (at least for preorders) seems to be the limited edition. My Amazon order (which I'm planning to cancel) morphed into it.

Afaik the limited edition here is a day-1 edition. So yes, all who preorder will get that LE; after release you will be able to get the "less limited edition" if you would prefer that one, provided that the LE copies aren´t more than sufficient to meet the demand.

Stole this from HotUK:

[3DS] Theatrhythm Final Fantasy - £19.95 @ The Game Collection

Would be mildly annoyed if I pre-ordered this.

Amazon's pre-order price was £22.99, and it came with a free stylus and sticker set. I'm not bothered.

That said though, I thought £23 (or thereabouts) was the standard price everywhere, but having just checked Amazon again, they're now selling it at £28.40. Is the RRP £29.99? If so, then yes, I can see people who pre-ordered it from stores being quite pissed.
