Interesting...anything new other than retina? Not sure id spend 2.99 just for an ipad version. Seems a little behind the times not to have a universal build.

Hill party and a Flight school mode where you race 3 AI opponents in 15 new levels. Looks awesome and I can't say a bad thing about the guy. He says everyone told him to release a new app but he's giving it away to the millions who already have it. I don't think it's so bad that he's asking $3 for the iPad version, it does have iCloud saves.

The new level layouts look amazing. And here are some new mechanics like flower trampolines and valleys filled with water.

From TA:
I [never] clarified if it will be an update or an seperate app before the release because then my fans will be happy on the release day when they see that the sequel isn't a seperate app and they will get it for free. I worked on the 2.0 version for the last 12 months and everyone told me I should make a seperate app out of it and sell it again (because it is almost a new game and I would earn a lot more money). It was a heavy decision for me to give away this new version for free but it feels right (most people I talked about this subject don't understand it .

So I decided to give it away for free as a big "thank you" to all my fans for changing my life. That's really important for me and the reason why I make this little stupid marketing trick of confusing my fans before the release.

I'm hoping the new song from the teaser video is in the game.

Yeah, fantastic that he's offering it as an update. I added Tiny Wings back to my phone so I can get the update when it comes out. It kinda bothered me that he never made any significant updates after originally saying that he would when it was first released so good on him for coming back with a bang.

Wow, I don't know if this guy is crazy or brilliant. Pretty nice of him though. Too bad I'm not a Tiny Wings fan, but I should download again to test the 2.0 version.

Im not a huge TW fan...but it is fun to play from time to time. Ive always wanted it on my iPad so I will most likely get it for that as well.

I didn't buy it the first time around because of the lack of iPad support, but I think I'll give the iPad version a shot and see what the Tiny Wings fuss is all about.

Pretty cool that the guy is updating the iPhone version. Hopefully he'll get a good bump in sales again (is it still near the top of the iPhone chart?).

I'll gladly support him with buying the iPad version for a move like this.

Cytus updated their Facebook page. Is it that update they promised months ago?

...

oh come on guys

Is Dead Trigger out for iOS? How is it?

Yes.

Generally it's disliked. Full of IAPs and feels like a tech demo. Wish I hadn't bought it. Thankfully it was cheap.

It's good. Don't believe the haters. The only place it was "generally disliked" was the one review on TA. I don't recall seeing any hate around here (except for Enco's post) and though it is a little grindy, it's no moreso than something like IB (in fact, it's far, FAR less). Haven't spent a cent other than the app cost and I've gotten at least a good 5-6 hours out of it.

Environments and such are a little repetitive, but the mechanics are decent enough that it hasn't really gotten boring (yet).

Anyone else here get Super Ox Wars? Holy shit that game is awesome. It's just the right side of Bullet Hell (I call it "Bullet Heck" :D) to be fun but not frustrating. Minter's best iOS game, IMO.

Well, the one boss pink slip battle I faced literally *was*, unless you dropped a few bucks on the "special" nitro. Rest of it, definitely drawn out but not impossible.

Yeah, I dunno where this "generally disliked" came from. I liked the game too, though it's not without it's fair share of flaws. Still, for 0.99 it's a fun, if repetitive, arcade zombie shooter. Some people were expecting Left4Dead on iOS though, but that's just naive.

Yeah, put me down for "really enjoyed/still enjoying it." There were a handful of very vocal dissenters, but I would hardly say the game was generally disliked. As a matter of fact, I would say the large majority of folks over on TA are pretty fucking ga-ga over the game. For a buck, you get a lot of arcade fun. I haven't clocked in as much time as some folks, but I have been playing it since its release, still playing it, and it will be sticking around on my phone for a while. One of the standout things for me, something that gets little attention, is just how small the file size is when compared to other games like it. Not sure how Madfinger does it, but I sure wish Gameloft could whittle their games down like that -- I might actually buy their products.

Love this. It means I don't have to delete the game from my device, so I can always have a short session of zombie blasting fun. It's a perfect fit for mobile really. Small size and no mission lasts longer than 3-5 minutes

^^^ That too. I was floored when I saw it was ~130mb or so. Makes the Infinity Blades look like a fucking joke. Which is why they're no longer on my phone.

They've given hima mullet. Great.

I'm pretty annoyed that Casey's Contraptions is no longer in my purchases. I know it's only a couple of quid, but it's the principal of the matter. Rovio will not get my monies.

If you've synced to iTunes (And why wouldn't you have?) It will be in your Apps there.

Man, Andreas Illiger is awesome. Good for him and his success. What a nice gesture to his fans!

I killed iTunes with fire after syncing my iPad deleted literally half my apps from the device, with no apparent reason. I had to restore from a week old iCloud backup to get my app data back.

I don't understand how this is a disappointment. People were expecting, and willing, to buy a new Ting Wings 2 app. But now that it is a free upgrade on iPod / iPhone and a paid app on iPad people are disappointed.

I don't get it.

It's not a new game, just a different mode for the existing game.

It's got a new racing mode and is updated with retina graphics. Regardless of whether or not people think a racing game is a big enough addition to be a new game -- my personal opinion is that it is -- he could have released it as a new app and tons of people would have purchased it. This is a one man development team. It is an awful lot to ask him to add a new mode, update to retina graphics, port it to iPad, and provide it all for free.

Oh, I'm pumped to check it out and will buy it again on my ipad. The disappointment isn't in what it is, it's what it isn't. I took the awesome trailer to mean a new game was coming and I'm disappointed that it isn't.

It would be nice if all HD/retina updates are bundled in with the original game but I do understand that the cost of development and time invested sometimes means that it'd be sold separately for a little extra cash. I'd be willing to be inconvenienced over the choice of it not existing in the first place.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Well, in that case I agree. :) I thought you were disappointed that you needed to pay to get it on iPad. You know what they say about assumption...

Tiny Wings HD also has same-screen multiplayer, which (obviously) won't be in the iPhone version, in case that can justify your TWO ENTIRE DOLLARS EXTRA.

It's not just the same game, even though most of it obviously is.

It's one of the more fun Minter games for me (but Gridrunner is still my favorite). It gets pret dang hard for me though. Im having a hard time beating stage 5 with more than one life... The one main complaint for Super Ox Wars is it feels like the ship lags sometimes if I'm moving my fingers fast..and sometimes it's hard to see the enemies' bullets when there's too much going on. That being said..I can't wait to see what the last boss is like. Fun game. =)

I like how Jeff is making different types of games on the iOS, even though some can be pretty hit or miss.

Yeah, no. I'll totally buy it again. No problems with that. It's $3! You must think I am the cheapest person in the universe!

Ha, wow, a lot of you assume that. I'm disappointed that it isn't a brand new game from an awesome developer, not that I'm going to have to buy it again.

Just synced a few games i bought during the July 4th weekened, and WOW @ the Mega Man X port. I get the bad press it got for the new sprites, but the godly soundtrack (the exact same as the snes one) alone makes it my favorite game.

My Amazon Basics stylus came in yesterday. Shmups are much more enjoyable now. It's not quite as responsive as my ghetto stylus, but it's better built and a bit more rugged.

I played King of Dragon Pass last night based on gaf reviews, and I am ambivalent about it. This is the first game I have ever wanted to have a better tutorial. Some things I still can't seem to understand, like the quests and how to make them available.
Also I am a stickfucker or whatever the name is for the worst clan leader in history. But it was a great timesink and will probably get better with repeated exposure. Kind of whetting my appetite for interactive novels (simpler ones).

It's not impossible, but it is a grind.

It's weird, I just bought my Audi R8 (Tier 4) and I didn't think it was much of a grind AT ALL. I would usually beat crew members until it got impossible, then do some ladder/daily challenge races until I had enough money for upgrades, then try the crew again, etc. beat the Tier 3 boss when I was only at like 15/24 in the ladder oO. Not much of a grind at all for me, and always buying cars when they're on sale leaves you with a nice chunk of money for upgrades.

Game is sooooo gooooood.

KoDP wasn't really my thing either. That said, you could look up Let's Plays on Youtube for the PC version and possibly get some pointers on how to successfully rule your people.

Once you get the hang of it, it becomes ridiculously easy. First, ring composition is key: your leader should have the highest leadership (Excellent/Renowned) and worship your chosen deity, after which you just make sure at most one of each god is represented, with each ring member having a high amount (Excellent/Renowned) of his or her respective expertise. Only listen to them when their advice is relevant to the situation, and remember that despite their expertise, they have their own (and their god's) interest in mind.

Generally, when making decisions, always keep your starting choices out in mind (attitude towards dragons, slavery, mortal enemies, etc.) and do not stray from them.

Correct choices in heroquesting usually corresponds with the lore you've collected (but is more dependent on the quester's deity and expertise). They give you huge bonuses. What's more, if you fail, you can always reload from the start of the year.

To break the game, always throw points into Trade at Sacred Time, set up the Temple for Issaries, and set up as many trade relations as possible. You'll have a huge influx of goods coming, and you can bribe your way into making people like you and elect you, as well as curbing favors from the gods. To start off though, make sure you have Barnatar's Vigor and Uralda's Calf Blessing up via shrines. A shrine to Chalana Arroy will ensure that you can keep people healthy. As your clan becomes more awesome, your patron deity and Humakt will help your military might.

Pocket Heroes is out in the US! :D

I just can't figure out how to play random games. :( or add me on GC (Viscera Eyes) for some games.

EDIT: Okay, after rummaging through the TA forums, it looks like there is no random match-up option right now. It'll be coming later, as there's a "random game" option in Settings, but I think it's disabled for now. Also, it looks like the initial game (99 cents, btw) has only a set of 10 linear, no random quests, so it looks like each match you create will be the same exact quest...? Kind of silly, but I think they're promising a random dungeon option in future updates.

Major Mayhem just went free and it now has "FREE!" in the icon, which makes me suspicious. Does anyone know if there's any douchery (a la Whale Trail) in this or is it safe to update?

What do you mean by douchery? (I never played the "new" whale trail)

There aren't any ads if that's what you're asking.
