The last missing track of the OST has been found.

It's a seven minute epic version of the train fight from Batman Begins.
Outstanding.

I just want to pinch his cheeks. Adorable.

his cheeks...yes

Yeah, listening to it now, it really is fantastic.

I don't know, by the time that little incident happened, I was starting to suspect people just wanted to get attention and hear themselves talk. Sort of like the Amir0x of movie theaters.*

Don't tell Amir0x I said that.

You don't think stuff like that happens occasionally in England? Or is there some stronger culture around movie behavior in the UK?

The experience I had was an outlier, I've never had a movie going experience like that before. It was also the first and only midnight showing I ever went to though.

Thankfully, I'm skipping midnight this time... don't want to waste it. It's 3:20pm(EST) on Friday, July 20 @ King of Prussia Stadium. True IMAX, none of that LIEMAX shit. Since it cost $57 just for three of us, no way I'm risking throwing my money into an incinerator.

King of Prussia is a really nice movie theater, never had a bad experience there. Plus it's like 15 minutes away from where I live during the summer. Seen quite a few midnight showings there with no problems, doubt you'll have any at 3:20.

My friend just randomly offered me a ticket to a midnight Imax show because someone else in his group dropped out. My conservative wait till the last minute to look into getting tickets strategy has totally paid off.

Trying to decide how early to show up for the 10:30am showing on the 20th at my local IMAX (no reserved seating). The wife is giving me the business about going and just "sitting around forever" but I'm not sure she understands.

Three is the hardest number. Francis Coppola tripped on it ( The Godfather Part III). So did George Lucas ( Return of the Jedi) and David Fincher ( Alien 3) and Sam Raimi ( Spider-Man 3) and the Wachowski brothers ( The Matrix Revolutions). Peter Jackson pulled it off with The Lord of the Rings, but all of those movies came from the same book and were shot back-to-back.

One of the most striking things about The Dark Knight Rises, the third entry in director Christopher Nolan’s trilogy of Batman movies, is how bold and confident and precise it is — as if the filmmaker had always known how the story that started in 2005’s Batman Begins and continued in 2008’s The Dark Knight would turn out.

Article gets more spoilery after that.

Just going by that snippet DM posted, already disagree.

Return of the King is on par with Return of the Jedi to me in comparison to the series other entries. The Matrix was already terrible prior to Revolutions. David Fincher was a no-name director at the time, thrown into studio hell.

Coppola just lost his craft, Jack.

Yup, was going to post that. Definitely getting the sense from these types of articles that the reviews are overall going to be extremely strong.
Not sure people expecting a 3rd film fail or those who thought reviews would be harsher after TDK got so much love are ready.

They ain't ready to enjoy things, man.

I hated Return of the Jedi, I loved Return of the King. So for me LOTR trilogy already has three great parts.

This will be the second trilogy without a bad film in it though. Oh and Back to the Future sequels suck. The second one less so than the third but it's still not very good.

Ferreal though, fuck anybody who don't like the Toy Story trilogy.

Fuck'em. Don't even respond to this, just know you're fucked.

Coppola also didn't care very much about Godfather III, he only made the film because he needed money.

Rumble Fish was a good later Copolla film. Godfather 3 was lame but it had that ending which was incredible and kinda makes it worth it to watch the film imo.

Does LOTR count, they filmed all three at the same time...? There is a consistency to that film that is quite unprecedented.

BTTF trilogy I grew up on as my favorites, so I can't hate. Loved 2. It's a weird trilogy though, given the first weaves both Doc and Marty together in a story, whereas 2 was about mostly Marty and 3 was mostly Doc (which is what makes it the weirdest one to me). So really, I can understand where people don't like it. And shit like them adding in ARE YOU CHICKEN is just kind of hilarious Hollywood magic to me, shit they tried to get away with back before people had computers to drive themselves nuts talking about it.

LOTR is kind of up there, but Two Towers feels so inconsequential to me. I just can't sit through if I have either FOTR or ROTK to watch.

Lethal Weapon I naturally don't find many flaws with, outside of the more lackluster villains in the later installments, particularly 3.

If Die Hard 2 wasn't so poorly written, it coulda had a shot. Feels so much like it was written by somebody who didn't know shit about what made DH1 work.

If we start mentioning consistency and shooting schedules then why even include Godfather 3? It was made 14 years after the Godfather 2. None of these other trilogies are comparable.

Damn, 70s Coppola is one of the best director runs of all time. Two Towers gets a bad rap. I fucking hated Treebeard and his friends but it has the introduction of Gollum and all that Helms Deep amazingness.

I feel bad for having never watched The Godfather actually.

Anyway, I'm starting to get excited for TDKR and I still haven't booked tickets.

Lost World was kinda fun. If only because of Pete Postlewhaite's (RIP) awesome hunter character and Jeff Goldbum.

Fucking gymnastic raptor fighting and King Kong shit sucked though.

Ferreal though, fuck anybody who don't like the Toy Story trilogy.

Fuck'em. Don't even respond to this, just know you're fucked.

Toy Story 1 and 2, I adore.

Toy Story 2.5 was not required. Having strong final moments doesn't change the fact that TS3 was exactly TS2 with more tugs at the heart-strings thrown in.

Holy shit I can't believe I forgot Indiana Jones. My favorite film of all time is probably Fellowship but for trilogies:

The Godfather > LOTR > Indiana Jones > Star Wars > Toy Story

Yeah I think Godfather and Star Wars trilogies have stinkers in them but the sheer strength of the first two entries (especially Godfather) makes them that good.

At the end of the day I'll probably end up putting Batman trilogy right under LOTR. I feel like putting Spiderman in there too but the third wasn't just a bad film (with some redeeming scenes) it ruined plotlines :(

I think there are only two successful trilogies so far:

LOTR (shot back-to -back)

Bourne (solid first - kinetic second and greatest hits third)

They are not perfect (TTT/ROTK are very bloated, Ultimatum is too shaky), but they are better than most.

This shit can get fucked aight. Do people hate on Ocean's films because they're all about casino robberies man? Naw, they don't. Just because Toy Story 3 is a Toy Story film don't mean it ain't dope to the veins. That opening sequence in Andy's imagination? Fuggedaboutit. Right there is when you know, this shit demands respect - THE FIRST SCENE OF THE MOVIE MAN.

And yea, the Indiana Jones trilogy is great, although some days all I can see are flaws in Last Crusade. Those are bad days.

Yeah Sean Connery is fucking awesome and the Holy Grail scene is great but I think Temple of Doom is a better film than Last Crusade.....
Ain't no shame in it. Sometimes it excites me, other times the portion of the film before Connery shows up (and after the opening Young Indy stuff) feels like its just going through the motions.

I'm a self-confessed Toy Story 3 hater aswell. Toy Story existed around the wonderment of inhabiting this world of Toys; it still stands to me as one of the funniest comedies written, the dialogue is just that good. 3 felt like it was written by a nihilistic miserablist, far too centered around the morality of toys.

Me too. Temple used to be my favourite until around a year ago.

And EDII is incredible but I wasn't keen on Army of Darkness at all.
