The movie premieres on Monday. I believe they're gonna do a livestream, just like they did for TDK and Inception.

EDIT:Meant, monday. sorry.

Seriously though, forget the why (which is silly enough on his own) and bend your brain on the impossible logistics required to pull it off like he did.

"Who's the guy with the covered face who never talks?"

"Who cares? He's a cop and he's alive!"

"NO MORE DEAD COPS!"

Seriously, if they had implied that even ONE other cop knew he was still alive I would buy the whole scenario a bit more, but they don't appear to know. That whole "plan" had to have so many things go exactly right for it to work, it's one of the only ideas out of the movies I just can't wrap my head around.

I want to know where Gordon was staying during the time he was dead. Was he staying at Bruce's penthouse hanging out with Alfred?

I thought it was implied that Det. Stevens knew, since he was the first to check his pulse and everything. Guy's a 20 year man.*

*I wish he was back for TDKR. Maybe he is, I don't know.

If you believe you need to fake your death to protect your family, why go undercover on a dangerous mission to escort the man you believe is the risk to your family? Why personally reveal to this man that you faked your death, only further drawing his attention and ire?

Pfft, it was worth it for the awesome WE GOT YOU, YOU SON OF A BITCH moment in the theater. Deal with it!

Now defend James Bond faking his death and being turned into a Japanese man!

I like how the "this is NOT good" guy just keeps talking to Gordon as the driver even though Gordon never says anything back.

I think Stevens was supposed to be in on the plot since he was the one who checked Gordon' pulse and went to see the family. I guess Gordon just played Xbox in the dude's basement or something in the meantime. I dunno. Was he even really wounded? Was he wearing a bulletproof vest? Maybe we should ask Gary Oldman; I'm sure he could make something up. Livestream!

Then have like one line of dialog in the cell where Stevens says to Gordon, "The plan worked, Jim", or something to that effect so we know there was more people involved. As it's laid out in the movie, I thought it was a plan between Batman and Gordon the first time I saw it. Then I realized Batman wasn't in on it at all, so what was the end game for Gordon? I guess you have to assume he was just biding his time to reveal himself to catch the Joker when he would least expect it.

It was in a film that contained a scene where a hollowed out volcano rocket launch base was the scene for a battle between ninjas and members of an international terrorist organization led by a bald man and his cat.

Bond's faked death and Japanese disguise fit in alongside that madness.

I always thought it was to protect his family as he clearly said. The Joker was seen to be rather merciless in his attacks. There's no guarantee that the judge was going to get into that car alone (what if she had her kid with her) and there was no guarantee that the commissioner would be the first to sip that drank (what if his kid had sipped first). He also dropped Rachel out of a window rather willy nilly.

He waited in that truck for his moment.

How the hell did he even get that assignment. He faked his death, joined the SWAT team and got to be the escort for a high ranking official? THIS STORY'S FULLAHOLES!

What people are also forgetting is that Gordon's death faking was not planned. He saved the mayor and got knocked out. The GPD Cheif is already dead and the next in line guy is also "dead", it gave Joker a false sense of control. Atleast that is what they thought, until it turns out Joker's plan was to get captured to get Lau.

It was all about the dramatic effect really. Nolan, like most film makers, do things that will gain some sort of emotional response whether or not the circumstances actually make sense.

Like toward the end, instead of trying to sneak and get the jump on the Joker (and two dogs) he just sort of... walked up to him. Even in the theaters I was like "huh". Especially after the party scene where he just kind of appeared out of nowhere.

Stupid Nolan.

The dogs would have alerted Joker of Batman being in the room anyway.

Those dogs will end up being the biggest pain in the ass of Batman over the entire trilogy, they always won. Although he did kill one of them by chucking it over the side. Dogs are not part of the One Rule!
