COLCHESTER, Vt. - At $100 a pop, the neon bracelets handed out at the Majestic 10 Cinemas Sunday didn't grant admission to any old theater.
About 300 flocked to the theaters in Williston for a special screening of the newest Batman movie, complete with a multitude of bat decorations.
The public can't feast their eyes on "The Dark Knight Rises" for another few days.
"It's just so awesome. It's been a part of me since the first one came out in 2005 and the fact that I could get a chance to see this in Vermont, that's awesome," said Cody McGlashan, who got to the theater about 2 hours before showtime.
McGlashan and other super fans actually got to see this Batman preview ahead of Monday's "world premiere" in New York City -- in part thanks to Senator Patrick Leahy, who landed himself a role in this movie.
"I'm such a tiny tiny bit of it, but I'm still very excited," said Leahy.
The advanced screening doubled as a fundraiser for causes near to Leahy's heart -- both the Echo Center in Burlington and the Kellogg Hubbard Library in Montpelier.
Leahy will be donating all his royalties there too.
"If money from this will make it more possible for more children to read, then I'm glad I had the opportunity," said Leahy, who has now made four cameos in Batman flicks.
The Batman fan joked about his role in this movie.
