Discuss.

Even their years in office are similar! It's like poetry.

Everything in this movie takes place over the course of like 20 years, until 1:16, where it then all takes place over the course of a day.

What a fucking day.

So where the hell is Gotham in the Nolan-verse?

In Begins we find out that the elevator down to the Bat Cave is from the underground railroad, but it's very hard to believe Gotham wasn't far enough North already

In TDK Lucius says spying on "30 million people" isn't part of his job description... The largest city in the US is New York, with around 17.8 million. The only city larger than New York is Tokyo with 33 million.

I think those are the only two tidbits we have on Gotham from Nolan (so far)

It just doesn't add up I tell you!

I've always assumed it was in the Newark area. Maybe then he could be talking about the tri-state area....

lol is that Gabriel from Supernatural or are my sleep meds kicking in?

It's Castiel from Supernatural (played by Misha Collins).

It's just a major East Coast city. Probably between New York and Chicago. 30 million people could include major suburbs (we know of the Palisades).

For instance, Vancouver, the city proper, has like 580, 000 people. However, the surrounding suburban cities (Surrey, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Langley, Richmond, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, etc) get the population up to like, 2 million. When talking to an out-of-towner, people often just refer to the whole area as Vancouver.

There are also mentions of "Land Routes back east" by Jim in TDK. The Dark Knight Manual has a map of Gotham in it (bought the book, it's cool).

Maybe he's not very good with calculation.

Obviously the largest city in the US is Gotham.

IT'S NOT WHO I AM UNDERNEATH, BUT WHAT I DO THAT DEFINES ME.

lol that scene just played on tv and I caught it again, love how he throws that line back in Rachel's face to make her feel like shit.

lol I love that. Then he just flies off because knows he just pulled a badass line, while Rachel's all like "Holy shit."

When do reviews start? Couple days?

Midnight. Some are already coming out of you look a couple pages back.

Rachel is the worst. So high and mighty and downright cruel to Bruce. Comes back after seven mysterious years and she's like... "Fuck you you rich dick".

Nolan loves SWAT outfits.

They're like his version of Bay's obsession with the military.

They look awesome.

I remember seeing that on my rewatch a few days ago too thinking, "That means absolutely fucking nothing."

I KNOW! Rachel is just an awful person.

Rachael is an asshole and a terrible character. Hopefully Selena Kyle will show us what a decent female character looks like in a Nolan Batman movie.

The amount of screentime Batman actually gets in the Batman films:

Batman – 21%
Batman Returns – 17-18%
Batman Forever – 19%
Batman and Robin – 15%
Batman Begins – 16%
The Dark Knight – 16%
