The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

I really need to play Tony Hawk right now. I was worried about it being old hat for me at this point, but it looks awesome.
 
I am not 100% happy with the hd version but I will buy it. I need my Tony hawk fix. still pissed about the revert, best addition to the th sandbox.
 
One thing I loved about THPS2 was the gap checklist. That added SO MUCH replayability to the game trying to complete each checklist and seek out each gap just based on the name. I was so sad when they removed that in THPS3. Now that I think about it, it might have just been in the Dreamcast version.

Yeah and I think it's a good bet that once all the DLC is released, a "GOTY" edition will be made available on retail. That's when I'll consider getting it.
 
Wasn't able to watch the whole THPS vid, but I just want to make sure, it didn't have any of the SKATE letters and boxes and stuff because Jeff wasn't playing the stages on Career mode, right?

It's super easy to miss obvious stuff when you're concentrating on talking and trying to play. Brad has said himself he often struggles to juggle the two and gets a bit anxious during Quick Looks especially.

Duh, doesn't make it any less fun when it happens. Also they didn't miss it, they both read that text several times and Brad kept interpereting it as his charging move he had mapped to A.

And I'm glad it happened, it's my favorite part of a Brad quick look.

They can't really win either way.

If they just sit in menus while they talk about the game people complain, and if they miss things when they are playing while talking people complain.

Both can be frustrating to watch, but it's not something that breaks my heart.

Actually pretty impressed with Heroes of Ruin. I was expecting far worse, and I think I could easily have some fun with this thing. Looks like a solid purchase at $25 or so.
 
Really kind of sad, seeing the Tony Hawk QL.

It looks like a solid enough game, but there's just something about the presentation that seems to have really lost the magic. Maybe it really is more of a nostalgia related issue, but this really dragged my hopes down.

Also, the sloppy/perfects are totally in THPS 2. I didn't remember it at all, but I got it on dreamcast the other day, and they're definitely there.
 
I hate the EX flavor of quick looks. Ruins it. I want to hear their reactions to the games (good or bad), not some PR dude talking about how awesome it is or walking them through everything.
 
Let me explain to you why this game is different from other NASCAR games and why the DLC is going to be awesome! Come on, buy it! You want another series? DLC. But you guys wanted it! "Let's have some fun!"

Nah, it's the same junk. Only 3:25 in.
 
You're being cynical. The conversation about what goes into making this game is pretty interesting. There's a little self promotion, but it's not too bad.
 
Real talk, when I see EX in a Quick Look title, I don't even watch it.

Unless Brad Muir is involved, or perhaps Johnny V.

yeah i dont like them either because they hold back to be polite.


is it just me or has the video quality dropped? i stopped watching on the site because of ads and low quality but now even the youtube videos look more compressed.
