Knowles isn't only not a very good writer, he's an appalling one - and that's supposed to be his calling. You can find better reviews of the film in this thread - it's embarrassing.

I can definitely stomach contrasting opinions, but not rambling, unintelligible ones which speak down to me.

Knowles is such a condescending bitch, like you don't know shit about Batman if you like this movie.

"If some how you find you love the film and were blown away. I envy you. If you did love the film – if you think this just kicked everything you’ve seen this year away. I beg you, go to a comic shop, buy some BATMAN comics… Order the BATMAN ANIMATED SERIES… Play ARKHAM ASYLUM. Learn more about the character, you’re going to smile so much. This really is in many ways the greatest character in the history of comics – and he’s so much more than what the feature films that Hollywood has given us. DARK KNIGHT is the pinnacle. Somebody, kick its ass… I dare ya."

Sounds like a guy who has spent many a time in a room arguing against casual Batman fans who dig Nolan's interpretation, all while losing his shit.

I don't want to get into spoilers at all (even though I can't imagine it would be considered one) so I won't quote anything, but one of his major complaints about Bane is completely ridiculous. The whole review just reeks of fanboy pretentiousness.

I SEENT IT.

I was definitely not disappointed. I'm on my phone so I can't go into detail, but:

+ action is great
+ haters will eat crow after they see Hathaway's performance. JGL was also memorable. Bale probably gives his best performance in a Batman movie too.
+ Bane was an effective villain, had to fill big shoes but Hardy played him well
+ ending is fantastic

- some questionable decisions regarding the story, I can see one scene as being brought up over and over again
- cat woman's fake ears are still cheesy
- no more dead cops guy was absent

Glad to hear you liked it. Overall how does it compare to BB and the TDK, if you were to rate them?

can you spoiler tag and vaguely reference the scene you're referring to?

Parents just saw it. For Batman casuals who have only seen Batman movies, they thorougly enjoyed it. While I called it a "masterpiece" with 7/5 stars, my dad was slightly more reserved, calling it a "masterstroke" and giving it 4.5/5 stars.

Are the two encircled seats good enough? This is for Imax viewing.

I wanted the middle seats in the last row but they were already booked.

TDK > TDKR > BB. TDK was pretty much perfect, while there are some noticeable flaws in Rises. If your a fan of the Nolan Bat films, I really don't see how you won't like this movie.

Being in the middle and kinda near the back is best for imax, iiirc

SOmething around K15,26 or J 29,30 would give you a greater experience.

The guy is such a disconnected manbaby.

He hated Inception and loved Van Helsing......Yea.

Little over 11 hours for me. So fucking stoked. Yea I spoiled the movie, but then again I kept up with the production photos so I saw things as they happened. So excited to see those things play out on screen. Can't wait to see it again in 70mm film IMAX in a few weeks after the crowds die down.

11:45am showing tomorrow. Luckily this day is flying by. Gonna hit the sack at 9pm for a big sleep to prepare me for the awesome of tomorrow. Steak, Batman, bars. Yes.

Oh man, now I'm getting excited on your behalf. Yes, you can be hyped about people watching a movie you've already watched.

Protip: Be on the lookout for actors from other TV shows/movies while watching. You'll see one from a popular fantasy series (as if there is more than one popular fantasy series right now haha), and one from a popular but retired sci-fi series.

I loved Ghotocol and liked Captain America but I wouldn't put either of them anywhere near the first 2 Nolan Batman films, so I doubt I'll end up thinking either of those is better than TDKR. Also, apart from Captain America I generally dislike the Marvel movies. I have no idea why Avengers was so successful. Oh wait I know exactly why, it's cheesy with awful one-liners and mindless action, camp Whedon at its finest. People eat that shit up.

But that's another story for another time

So ready for this. My theatre is holding a Batman Begins + Dark Knight marathon leading up to the new film.

Bad idea or a good one?
I don't really know. Or care. This day is going to take forever.

I think you mean "great idea or the greatest idea"

man I wish I could handle sitting in a theater long enough to marathon through three movies that long, but I get way too uncomfortable. I saw Batman Begins on FX a couple nights ago so that's covered, and I'm going to watch the TDK Blu-Ray right before going to see TDKR sometime this week.

Am looking forward to the film; it won't be perfect (all the Batman films tend to have something that drags them a bit) - but I think I might enjoy it more than The Dark Knight as I did go into that film with too much hype (Bat vision was a horrible sequence and idea; and honestly theres some problems with the directing, especially in the tunnel chase scene for me).

The reviews actually sound more down to earth and I suspect it will be the best in the trilogy. Which makes sense as Nolan seems to have worked very hard to make his films 'progressive' on their previous; even if it can reduce the overall quality of that film. Not a complaint, it is a trilogy after all.

Doubt I'll like Bale though; hes never fitted the role for me. I don't buy him as Batman.

Knowles isn't a very good writer. He's a very big fanboy though!

The thing with Knowles is, he's usually gushingly positive about anything in the realm of geek. That's one of the big reasons I dismiss his reviews. I'm surprised to see him be so overwhelmingly negative over this film.
