Holy shit. Ghotocol was one of the worst films in theatres that summer. And Captain American was pretty lame as well. You've got to be alone on that opinion.
i put ghotocol above TDKR and CA under.

For people to be likening such a standard, by the numbers, flat action film like Ghost Protocol to TDKR is giving me some concerns.
But, as ever, we shall see.
a standard, by the numbers, flat action film
yeah wth that movie sucked
Spoilers do not wait for you to be ready! How about no, and you guys get your asses to the spoiler thread instead?
Anger does not change the fact that your antidepressants failed to act.I love Batman, he's my favorite fictional character. I didn't like either of the first two Nolan bat films, they have bad action direction and I constantly feel like they're patronizing me. Most of all the main character in Nolan's films is simply not Batman. Knowles's "emo Douche" remark is right on the money. That being said, Heath Ledger as the Joker was great and I understand why some people really love the Nolan bat films.
I saw the Dark Knight Rises a couple of hours ago and the Aint it Cool review is being kind, the film is a wretched piece of shit. Nolan reinforces his profound misunderstanding of the Batman/Bruce Wayne character at every turn while the rest of the movie is just painfully boring, insultingly stupid and drowned out by it's own monotonous score. Batman is wrong, Bane is wrong, Alfred is wrong, Gordon is wrong.... the whole film is wrong, and anybody who likes it doesn't really like Batman IMO. I'm thankful Nolan is moving on, I like all his other films just fine, but his bat stuff sucks.
Guzim said:My cousin recently moved to Pennsylvania, and her and her husband were in Pittsburgh antique shopping. They bought a picture at an antique shop, and the next day they got a phone call from the shop saying that the producers of Rises wanted the picture in the movie. So her and her husband are getting paid for the picture to be in the movie.

5.) joker breaks out of MCU with lau and i guess gets back the mobs money. the mob boys meet joker and lau in front of all the money. joker calls into that TV show with the dude from Weird Science. the joker then tells everyone that if coleman reese isn't dead in 60 minutes then a hospital will blow up (likely gotham general). Bruce then wants to know if anyone in Gotham PD has any relatives admitted to Gotham General. why is this signficant? someone in the force was able to get the joker into the hospital? this plot point is totally lost on me. someone please explain!!!
the joker is ready to slice bats up in the streets but Gordon pops out and puts a shotgun to joker's head. the joker is taken to MCU but we learn later that this was joker's plan all along and he wanted to be captured! somehow the joker was also so prepared that he had Ramirez and other Gotham PD take both dent and rachel to separate locations. while in prison, the joker is also somehow able to plant a bomb inside one of the inmates' stomachs? how was he able to do this and when did he have time to do this?
There have been numerous interpretations of Batman throughout the life of the character in the comics. There isn't just one definitive take on the character. For you to say that there is is misleading and disingeuous. You personally may not like this interpretation of the character, but that does not mean that Nolan doesn't get the character or that his interpretation isn't a valid one.
Why would you wanna know this? watch the movie, jeez.Unless this is considered a spoiler somehow, someone who's seen it tell me why the fuck I see Catwoman in a an orange jumpsuit doing a no hands cartwheel...or whatever. S'plain!
but no single action scene that lived up to the jaw-dropping "wow" factor that was TDK's chase scene.
And just to stir it up before I fall asleep, yes, Captain America and Ghotocol are better films than The Dark Knight Rises.
I'd figure it's a spoiler.Unless this is considered a spoiler somehow, someone who's seen it tell me why the fuck I see Catwoman in a an orange jumpsuit doing a no hands cartwheel...or whatever. S'plain!
It's obvious she gets arrested. I'm not asking about particulars or that. Just the cartwheel. Like, is there actually a reason for it.Why would you wanna know this? watch the movie, jeez.
and yes this is a spoiler, don't ask stuff like that in here please.

Holy shit, really? So if I didn't think TDK's chase scene was good (I don't) then I'm going to be underwhelmed once again with Nolan's "action scenes?"
Damn that's... depressing. From the trailers I assumed that this was going to have much better action than TDK. Oh well.

I respect every opinion in this thread, but you shouldn't let any of them influence yours too much.

If this is true, Nolan has created nothing short of a catastrophe, and the third movie curse still stands.
I'll say that Nolan's action in a large sense -- the ideas he is playing with, etc. -- is better in the TDKR, but like I said, nothing elicited the same type of reaction from me as that scene, seeing it in theaters, in IMAX.
Then again, I only saw TDKR in fake IMAX, so looking forward to rewatching.
I don't know how you can say Alfred and Gordon are wrong, going by the first 2 films. I think they were spot-on.
I won't mention Batman because everyone has a different opinion on the character, but nolanbats is pretty consistent with the character IMO.
I didn't know that fucking happens, so you're spoiling others here not just yourself, thank you very much
Seriously? Even im seeing it in real IMAX tonight
There's a certain avatar you should avoid then.
It was the only option available for this early screening. Lincoln Square IMAX here in NYC (the only one playing in true 70mm) is sold out for days, if I wanted to wait. Which I didn't.
How much are they charging? Man I used to HATE paying the prices they charged at Lincoln Square, but the area is so nice and the theater is good too.

Maybe go in with an open mind and you'll like what you see?
Spoilers again? dammit.
It was in the trailers. Is this Selina Kyle thing in one of the trailers or something? Because I've watched all of them except Nokia. If it's in there then I don't mind too much
