IMAX (at least in NYC) is probably going to start experimenting with reserved seating. After I left prometheus they gave you a card saying if you go online and answer some questions you'll get a free popcorn, I did it just to see what they asked and the entire thing (around 10 questions) was about reserved seating to get people's opinion on it. I don't remember much of what was asked except how much more were you willing to pay per ticket (1-2$ extra), or if you were favorable towards it, how it would affect going with other people etc. that sort of thing.

oh thank god, it's why i haven't bought the tickets yet, I don;t want to have to go three hours early to get a seat.

Just keep your expectations in check, or this might be a Skyward Sword-style disappointment for you. I have a feeling you're not going to like it as much as TDK.

You seen the film and didn't think it was good or something?

My expectations are not really high actually. I felt The Dark Knight was the best a Batman movie could get (unless they release the same movie but minus the BAT SONAR garbage), so it is all downhill from there. When Dark Knight came out and I saw it, the first thing I said is 'there should never be another Batman movie, ever.'

I hope it's good, it looks good, but I'll take at least a densely packed character study and some great climactic action scenes featuring vehicles (the hand-to-hand ones tend to suck in this series).

Is it weird that im going by myself? Thinking about not going.

Are you going to be talking with other people while watching the film? Do you watch TV shows or films at home by yourself? It's not weird to go by yourself. If I had a ticket to a good seat for the midnight showing I would go by myself and watch it again on Monday with a bunch of people.

What's a good time to arrive at a midnight showing in a not so large city if I want decent seats? (i.e. not New York, Chicago, Seattle, etc.)

well im in Birmingham,AL and im going at 9 and will go in around 10 unless it gets crowded earlier.
the front 2 rows was all Avengers had left 1 1/2 hours ahead.

I will be too tomorrow night :/

I know that feel. :(

Home is different though. Cant really compare. The movie theater has a larg crowd of people. Couples everywhere.

Yes im  self conscious.

Edit- Im going to the AMC lowes theater in NY 12:40AM showing. Maby nobody will be there.

Well those people will be concentrating on what is happening on the giant screen for nearly 3 hours and not pointing and laughing at some random guy/girl that they can barely see in the dark.

My theater has 6 open for tonight's midnight shows. 3 are sold out so far.

Never again will I stand in a line for a film.

Me neither. I only go to this Cinemark theater that has a reserved seating balcony section and you can take alcohol and food in with you.

No clue, saw it in a photo topic on SHH. I can't decide if it's some tricky person altering the photo, or was set up, or perhaps something happened and everyone looking that direction reacted at the same time/same way, while Marion is off in Crazy Beautiful Land.

probably someone dropping an expensive camera...

Yeah lol, didn't know the McWane Center's real IMAX was showing it till it was too late.
Love the Rave though, little pricy but not too bad.

McWane is a dome and I saw the Prologue there. No way I could watch an entire movie in that place though. I'll be at the Rave tomorrow night for the 11:30 IMAX showing.

This wait is killing me even with stuff to do, so I fear the wait at the theater.

oh ok, I might be there again seeing it with my other brother lol.

When that happens, my line of thinking is, if I arrive to a showing at 4pm and the line is super long, I'll just refund my ticket and wait in line at the next showing. If that one at 4:20 is also too long, just go to the next. Etc etc. It's what I did for the Avengers. Got a prime seat at 7PM on opening day and only waited for like 30 minutes.

That's what I plan to do tomorrow, since I'm not too sure what time I've even gonna be able to go.

Fuck, I really hope I don't have to do this.

I'm going to the 2nd liemax showing in the city, 12 noon since there only 1 at midnight.

I hope people go to the other non-liemax showings tomorrow, but the 2nd liemax has to be popular. Ugh.

The third liemax showing is 3 hours and 30 minutes later.

BROTHERS!

Got a ticket for McWane Saturday @ 1, and I was weak and just bought a ticket for midnight tonight over in McCalla.

Never been in McWane, but is it that bad? :/

What's up with you crazy Americans not having reserved seating? Such a thing would cause mild disapproval in the UK

I'm seeing it at 14.30 tomorrow and might turn up at around 14.30.

Agreed. It makes much more sense for both parties to accept preorders and allocated seating. The theatre gets the ticket money now, but people can still line up to get the last seats.

I saw some dinosaur show and somthing else way back when they did the Jurassic Park thing.
I don't remember it being that bad but he could be right about seeing an actual 'movie' on it.
Still want to try it sometime though.
