Dubai, U.A.E man.

It is Ramadan (religious month), so out of respect they delay big movies till the end of the month till Eid (islamic "christmas").

Good luck avoiding spoilers from websites/forums/facebook/other social websites.

1 month is too long lol. Someone even put spoilers on their truck.

Unfortunately, I'm not travelling outside this month either, so just gotta wait. :(((

Ooh, interesting!

I still have to wait another week, so I feel you. I didn't even buy my tickets yet....

I want to read the impressions, they all sound so interesting (negatives, especially).
Like I said it really depends upon what was your take on each of the Batman movies going into TDKR.

If you liked more emphasis on Bruce in BB as opposed to TDK then TDKR definitely delivers more on Bruce.

If you are one of those people who doesn't like origin stories because they take too much time then you will like this more than BB.

If you didn't like the whole plot device of the Microwave Emitter in BB then you will think less of TDKR as well.

Don't know what I can add to the impressions without delving into spoiler territory that hasn't been said already.

I'm avoiding the FB/Twitter/social media like the plague. I need some morgan freeman shuttin off my systems everywhere, in my life, lol.

I'm only checking out this thread for the non-spoilerific reviews. don't dissapoint, dudes. Avoiding most other GAF threads, especially other batman threads.

So I don't think Batman begins was really meant to be a trilogy, right? Just a reboot, that blossomed.

Now does Dark Knight Rises create a full arc for the character? Like make it seem like the trilogy really is a story in three acts?

Yes.

Perfect beginning, middle and end.

Was glued to the movie from the start. Although the middle part was slightly slow(or could be my tiredness from lack of sleep), the last half and ending was fantastic. Only complaint was the movie's pacing issues. Some parts moved swiftly and some parts dragged IMO.

Is it just me and like i said i am pretty tired, but i didn't catch some things Bane said. He sounded like he was mumbling or the effect applied to his voice made what he said not too clear.

Anyway might go rewatch the first 2 movies and cash in on my 5 dollar credit to rewatch TDKR with a more clear head.

3:33 am here, just got back.

I went in expecting to be disappointed and I have to say, the movie got a LOT right. A lot more than I thought it would. There are flaws, of course, but I'm an optimist and I judge a movie by what it did well more than what it faltered on. With that said, what you have all been waiting for (okay no one was waiting for it):

Batman Begins > Dark Knight > Dark Knight Rises (but only very slightly).

I need another viewing, this could change.

I said goddamn. It was a little hokier in spots and the plot a little too "video game" but what a great wrap up. Really hope they let Nolan's series rest in peace now

I think I might go back and rewatch it tonight. Have my own trilogy marathon by watching Begins and TDK on Blu-ray this afternoon and then go back to TDKR this evening.

do you guys think that bb, tdk and tdkr are in the same category of film as say taxi driver, godfather and the good the bad and the ugly

Yes.

Perfect beginning, middle and end.

Come to think of it.

Batman Begins had a great beginning part with Bruce training to become the Batman.

The Dark Knight had a great middle part with the conflict between Batman and Joker.

And now The Dark Knight Rises has a great ending part that concludes the trilogy as a whole.

Poetry.

Batman begins did have the joker card at the end so Nolan was setting up a sequel I think

I marathoned BB and TDK in prepartation for seeing TDKR in a couple of hours. I think TDK is a better film than BB, but I also think I might like BB better. It's more...Batman?

TDK is a great film but its crime drama aesthetic isn't quite as pleasing as BB's more comic book one.

However, both of them do have issues with editing and bad extras given needless lines (you all know the ones I'm talking about). The first act of TDK and second act of BB are way too quickly edited.

I don't recall Inception having this abrupt editing problem so hopefully Nolan's gotten wise for TDKR.

Just got back. I really enjoyed it, the action scenes were great, but there was a little too much time without Batman in the 2nd half. The payoff at the end made it all worth it. That said, BB is still my favorite.

IMO, Dark Knight > Dark Knight Rises > Batman Begins.

I don't know if I could rank the movies. BB has the best first act, TDK has the best middle act and TDKR the best final act. All great in their way.

well it seems like i wont make it today :[ weather has taken a very bad turn and all i have is my walking boots. Glad everyone who seen it has loved it.

lol didn't the impressions of the footage speak about heavy use of slow-mo?

The teaser is a big bait-and-switch like Returns. I just don't think Snyder is capable of a film like the one shown in the teaser trailer.

No there are clearly editing/directing problems in the first half. Scenes and characters just jump with little inbetween. It feels like there is a solid 5-10 minutes of transition scenes missing from the first half.

Had to cut to fit the movie on a single IMAX reel, maybe.
