No worries, you are not alone. Finally installed Mumble, but I'll probably be afraid of using it.

Because you've got the Kool-aid running intravenously, man. Can't be excited for anything without being on something that's altering your perceptions.
Junkie.

This is where I am. I tried the whole cynical approach years ago. Guess what? I was bored. I'd rather have fun all the way up to a game's release, be disappointed if it flops, and move on. I mean, as long as people don't take it personally when a game isn't what they wanted it to be, what's the harm?
People just take shit too seriously.
EDIT@BattleMonkey: We've had some people from the original Guild Wars be 'realistic' about Guild Wars 2. Guess what? Their opinion doesn't change what we've experienced for ourselves while playing it. They're allowed to have a different opinion, but it doesn't make either opinion right or wrong. This game is not like Guild Wars, so having experience or not having experience with it is borderline trivial.
apparently lag is a non-issue, so I'll be rolling my characters on Gate of Madness (US).
Edit - Actually, its not quite like appearance slots. There are specific pieces of clothing that can only be worn in Town Clothes slots, and armor cannot be worn in these slots. But you can switch between the two any time you are out of combat.
So here's an interesting question... would Guild Wars 2 be considered a Free to Play game? I know they advertise it as having no subscription fee, but I wonder if this is just to avoid the negative impression the term F2P brings (I.e. low quality, bad graphics, etc.) And also, Guild Wars 1 came out in a time before Free to Play existed as a term.
Oh man, I am not going to get to play nearly as much this weekend as I had hoped. arrrrg

Create Character -> Skip to End -> Enter Name -> Skip to End -> Logout -> Repeat
I have 2 names I absolutely must have and another two I'd like to have.
But..but.. what then? You delete these characters, and then.. you hurry to not lose the name through the next ones?

I think the general consensus is that they're held for 24 hours.
ooooh okay, I'll try that, too, thenWill names that work in the BWE work at launch as well? Or the other way around, can I take names that are already reserved in the BWE?

Some feel that GW2s proximity system of aggro seems to favor those attacking at range due to them simply being the furthest from the target. Are there any plans to adjust how mob aggro is generated or dealt with server side, or to maybe better cushion those closer to the action?
Jon: Weve actually made some fairly significant strides in how creature hate is determined. I wont reveal any secrets, because I think discovering this is one of the important aspects of mastering the game, but I will say that this system relies on fewer factors and will be easier to stabilize on our end and has thus far been a lot more fun to game. Good luck figuring it out!
There's no name reservations in the BWE, none of this applies to headstart or launch. At headstart any GW1 names will be reserved for the accounts in which they're on for the duration of the headstart, but after that all of those names will be made available for everyone. So once headstart starts, all names except the GW1 names are up for grabs.
Noo, that's not what i meant![]()
My question is, if I manage to get a name in BWE, will i be able to snatch it during headstart, too?
like, if "Shawn Michaels" is reserved over from GW1, will I be able to use it during Beta, even if it is? Or if I can name myself "Shawn Michaels" in Beta, is this a sign the name is still up for grabs when the game comes out?
I know I can't logon right now but the launcher says I don't have a valid email?
edit: if i change my username to my gmail it says i dont have guild wars 2 registered but I can check on arena net and it shows my beta key registered.
I'm logged in.
probably no, only GW1 names(which are two word named example: Dragon Fly ,all 1 word names are free for all right now)Wait, are our character names reserved from this beta?
So has the Xpadder guide been lost? Sorry for spamming, but this thread is moving quickly.
I got you lads. Give me a minute to dig it upI think we're hosed now, people are now able to play so no one will respond![]()
