The OST was fantastic. My heart was pounding for the last hour, the music was intense. When Bruce was climbing the well the music was godly.

I love that cue whe
n Talia crashed,
same as when Ra's crashed in the train (and when Joker got thrown off the building).

Oh god so sorry if you read that. Lost track of which thread I was in.

Nolan doing Bond? Do we really need a director who cannot direct action sequences turning Bond into even MORE of an emotionally edgy, broody character?

FML

lol he'd do better than Marc Forster by a million times. I really hope Sam Mendes directs again, if not the only director I would LOVE to do it would be David Fincher . But Nolan over anyone else. Shame you don't see Nolan's awesomeness

Your comparing comic book Batman to Nolan Batman

Nolan's Batman doesnt know what to do with his life until after he becomes an adult and tries to kill Joe Chill
Plus he was willing to leave the cape and cowl for Love where Comic book Batman would never ever consider retiring
....except for the part in one of the other films he tells random civilians to stop imitating Batman. The idea that "anyone can be Batman" by just putting on a suit is a terrible concept and totally undermines what makes Batman badass. It takes away a huge part of what made Batman Batman. It completely takes away the weight and responsibility of being a hero. Which has always been a pillar of what Batman is, no matter what medium he's being portrayed in.

If JGL can just put on that Batsuit and pick up where Batman left off then Bruce Wayne's entire journey was for nothing.

Just got back from seeing this and have to say I found a lot of it to be a jumbled mess. I enjoyed it but certain elements seemed very forced and rushed at times. I would say 'The Dark Knight' is easily a better film than this one. A little disappointed to be honest but sure many will love it.

I'm so fucking mad

that spoiler pretty much confirms the little dipshit junior was right. whole movie spoiled.

The worst is how he seemingly posted that and exited the thread altogether right after, despite people's protestations.

Don't scroll up if you haven't seen this yet people

It had a bit too much going on at times, definitely.

I want to say I was disappointed, but then I feel like I don't really have a right to be. The movie did so many things right and did what it had to as the cap to the trilogy.

There were some elements of it that were slightly disappointing I guess, but that's it. Upon a second viewing, it may even get better but I'll probably wait until the DVD this time.

In the end, TDKR didn't hit me like TDK did (I'm biased towards Heath Ledger's Joker) but its big moments are HUGE and really have an impact.

Pro-tip, if you don't want to be spoiled about something important to you, don't enter a thread discussing that thing. It'll happen.

Also shira, just to be safe I think you could edit your post too, just so when this is all cleared up people can't work out what/who the spoiler is about

I can't wait for the "THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY BLU RAY 1080P BOX SET WITH X AMOUNT OF FEATURES" (because im hoping to god it comes out at christmas hnnnnnng)

So I have watched this now.
If you enjoyed Batman Begins for the journey it took us on to explore the character of Bruce Wayne, you will not be disappointed.

It is undeniable that this is the most complete and most grand scale film Nolan has worked on, so far in his career. And the sheer level of fidelity in terms of visual splendour means Pfister is just as much responsible for this film as Nolan was. This was a gorgeous film.
I honestly believe that this is Nolan's best film, and I honestly don't think he will ever be able to top this. Sure you can say that you like TDK or BB begins more, but there is absolutely no denying that this one is the better work out of the three as a whole. This was the first Nolan film to have an actually good final act. Unlike TDK for instance, where you get a sense of detachment the moment the film gets to the Boat scene, TDKR provides a constant reason to be engrossed. This also had what I felt to be an appropriate run time to finish off such a great story. Absolutely great.
There is a huge array of characters, and all of them are handled well. The good ones get the right amount of screen time, the not so good ones are pushed back to the background. But the focus on Bruce Wayne as a character, was absolutely the best part here. The character of Batman starts to mean so much to the city and the world. You watch Bruce stand up get put down and rise again as something more than he previously was. What a way to explore a character.
There were so many great moments here. The only way it could have ended.
And yes, this is by far the best superhero film out there, and one of the best films to come out in recent years.
You can enjoy other Batman or other superhero flicks more for other reasons. But there is absolutely no denying that this is the most grandiose, well realised superhero adaptation to date.
