I really enjoyed the movie. There was one massive problem though. I had a very hard time figuring out WTF Bane was saying. The breathing apparatus made it so damn hard to figure out what Bane was trying to say. Thankfully my brother didn't have this problem, and he would tell me some of the stuff I missed. Other than that I thought it was good.

The next Batman movie is scheduled for 2015. Confirmed by Warner Bros.

I worry about it though because Warners wants an "Avengers" and this next Batman is supposed to tie into the Justice league.

Please no. I like the realistic stuff better. They could go with JGL taking over as Batman if Bale won't come back. I bet he'd do it...

You answered your own question in the first line.

Gotham needed Batman to disappear and he did. They needed him to play the villain in Harvey's legacy. Bruce did what Gotham expected of Batman.

If there was a threat on the scale of Joker/Bane in between TDK/TDKR then yeah Batman would've came back in action but there was no need. Since he didn't get much action his body and mind deteriorated even further. He needed a lot of motivation to get back into the swing of things.
I didn't want that much time to pass which would null the side effects.

The ending of TDK left me wanting and expecting a guardian ready, watching, and waiting based on the epic quote accompanied with music.

Bruce wasn't in this film. At all.

I wonder where there is to go for the franchise; Nolan's grim n' gritty trilogy fresh in everyone's minds, and really wouldn't work tied to the JL; and the last time they tried the camp route it... didn't go down so well.

Yeah, my favourite lines came from the first Bane confrontation.

'Theatricality and deception can be powerful agents to the uninitiated. But we are initiated, aren't we, Bruce?'

'You've adapted to the darkness, but I was born in it. The shadows betray you.'

JGL strikes me more as Nightwing/Robin than Batman in terms of looks and physique.

'Theatricality and deception can be powerful agents to the uninitiated. But we are initiated, aren't we, Bruce?'

'You've adapted to the darkness, but I was born in it. The shadows betray you.'
The 2nd line was godly.

The entire scene just didn't really add anything to the movie. I felt like Rises tried to do too many things and because of that certain characters were underdeveloped.

I thought it was one of the best parts of the movie, Cillian Murphy is awesome, Scarecrow is awesome, his lines were awesome.

I do hope they'll wait a bit longer for the Batman reboot, but that's not going to happen given how much money this movie will make.

Yeah, those lines were fantastic. That whole scene was brilliant.

Eh. The good thing about Batman is that you can present him in an infinite amount of ways and he's still great. And there's a million different takes on 'Batman'.

The Nolan-verse is complete and it's pretty much perfect to me. However I'm ready for a new 'vision' of cinematic Batman. I hope the next one doesn't try to be too down-to-Earthy like the previous films are. Not complaining at all, just hoping for a new direction. Just as long as it's good.

Tie-in to Justice League by 2015? That's going to be one hell of a project considering there's really nothing aside from Superman and Green Lantern right now from DC.

My wording was poor, the next Batman movie will not be the Justice leauge, but it will tie into the Justice leauge, like Thor, Cap, and Iron Man tie into THe Avengers.

We wont see the Justice leauge for years but this is the first step apparently. Probably have cameos from Wonder Woman or something.

Also, unpopular opinion: I really think 3D would've helped this film in some shots. The chase scenes, the stadium, the Bat, etc.

Yeah, I'm not sure how it's going to work considering Nolan-Batman is considerably more "realistic" and not supernatural. Then again, Nolan's not coming back so...!

Yeah, but I didn't like HOW she figured into the third act. Her pairing with Bruce was ridiculous and more of the fan service that holds this film back. Bruce would not have gone back to her after she kept fucking him over - the last of which he was lucky enough to only have his spine broken.

Selina didn't really fuck Batman over with Bane. He wanted to be brought to Bane's lair. Bane just happened to want the same thing, and tore Batman apart. That was a pretty minor betrayal. He got what he wanted, he just wasn't prepared for it.

LOL i can't believe catwoman just popped in and shot bane with her bike before saying some corny ass line, after all that build-up wtf??

Seemed totally in keeping with the rest of the film to me, Bane was just neutered as a character anyway when it's revealed he's basically Talia's protector/henchman/puppy. I did really like Bane's last line though and it's a good quote "you know I'm going to have to kill you now, you'll just have to imagine the fire".

Just to be sure - but did Bane's voice seem a bit too high pitched during the opening scene to anyone else? I don't know, he sounded too upbeat. I'm sorta convinced that the theater's sound was fucked up, because the sound and music levels seemed off throughout the movie.

they can keep a realistic tone but I wouldnt mind a little supernatural elements. I want Man Bat, Killer Crock and an obsessive detective that believes Bruce Wayne is the costume

Nolan's batman takes a huge steamy dump on all the other ones. I want gritty not colorful!

So was he actually born in the pit like Talia? Seems coincidental that two pregnant women would wind up in this crazy prison when it kind of made it feel like it was an out there thing for Talia's mother to be put there while pregnant.

I thought the sound mixing was strange in places, which lead to not understanding Bane a few times.

It was so anticlimactic that I found it kinda funny. Similar to the famous scene in Raiders with Ford and the gun.

"So thats what that feels like" got a big reaction from the audience, but it just seemed overly cartoony and ridiculous to me. I feel like it would have worked better with him just reacting to her vanishing with no dialogue. I knew what he was thinking, he didn't have to say anything. Or even if he just said it without the Batman voice. Its like, who the hell is he talking to? him growling it like that was just jarring

It was bad, yes. Twice as loud as other characters. Different (worse) line read from the prologue. Bad ADR.

Rest of the movie was OK. It stood out in the intro and hope it's balanced properly for the blu-ray release.

LOL.

Come on, Dan. Luring Bruce into a trap he isn't prepared for (robbing Batman of his prep time is a death sentence) with no escape route from a situation which Bane is prepared for is fucking deplorable.

This is what I said. We could have gotten the joke off his look. Him speaking it out loud was awful.

1) How come Gotham went from being 'monorail Wayne Tower fantasy city' in the first film to CLEARLY Chicago in the second to CLEARLY New York in the 3rd?

2) Bane could just have used Hans Zimmer's horn and percussion sections to destroy the city.

3) Every time Anne Hathaway smiled it looked like they'd re-cast the Joker

4) Somehow Bruce has a limp for eight years that witch-doctor Alfred could fix in five minutes?

5) Why would Bruce have a picture of ugly Maggie Rachel instead of the hot Katie Rachel?

6) For a second time on screen, Bane, the biggest badass villain in Batman comics, was a puppet for a lesser female character.

7) Every single character from the previous two movies returns (via flashbacks, hallucinations, cameos etc) yet nobody ever mentions the dude who is STILL ALIVE and did the same thing to the city 8 years ago.

8) That 'take the fall for Harvey Dent' thing sounded stupid and made no sense last movie and this was a movie about how it was stupid and made no sense.

9) Why was the entire cast of Inception here? In fact, why were there like 150 characters?

10) Robin is the freaking hero name. Maybe Superman Kent and Barry Flash should have appeared too.

I still enjoyed it, it's just the sillines doesn't match the tone.

I think "henchman" is underselling Bane's role in TDKR. It was more like they (Talia and Bane) were in this together working as equals. Bane worked more effectively as a leader that an army can get behind while Talia worked better as someone who plotted and worked her way from the shadows.

I do however agree that the Talia reveal was pretty damn close to a character assassination for Bane. A major part of his character that was hyped up was that he climbed out of the hole as a child and he is both a mastermind and a beast. Not only does Talia undercut his cunning (because the plan was more Talia's than Bane's) but since he didn't climb out of the hole himself it makes him more human and vulnerable than he first appeared in the movie.

Yeah, I much preferred how he sounded in the prologue that was released last year. He sounded much better when shit went down. His speech during the stadium scene and his fight's with Batman were awesome. He sounded like a psychotic dictator.
