It's not a huge deal but that type of thing should a part of good film making 101.

Bruce's return would been more epic with if we are given a visual marker to latch on to. No sense of space and time passage is only expained through dialog.

Im really thinking the directing aspect took a bit of sacrifice so that chris could get everything he wanted in. It ended up being too much so he had to just cut stuff down which made the directing or editing seem a bit jarring. at least that's what I am assuming. Im betting if alot of stuff was left in, it would have seemed to be better directed or edited for that matter but would have been too long for dat CASUAL AUDIENCE.

Now sitting in line for IMAX TDKR.

But after hearing people talk bad about dome theaters, I don't know

Extended ultra super edition bluray day 1?

"Theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uninitiated...but we are initiated, aren't we Bruce?"

Bane was straight up going Bennett on Batman in that fight. I was waiting for "You're getting old, Bruce....you're getting old...."

I think so too. I see two ways to make this a better movie. Put back in stuff that was cut, and judging by the editing and lack of development of some aspects of the film there was a lot cut. This would hopefully improve the pacing and complete some scenes that felt rushed. Or, streamline it even more and cut out entire characters like Modine's.

Anyone? I'm really curious about this.

The timer was for the punishment of Wayne. The detonator was for if something went wrong, or to follow through on their threat if someone tried to interfere. Ultimately the endgame is for the bomb to go off and kill/destroy most of Gotham and therefore complete Rhas' mission as well as get revenge for his 'murder' at the hands of Wayne.

Thanks DM. I honestly couldn't catch some of the things he said, but I'm going for a 2nd run today so all these lines are helpful.

I don't see how Bruce getting back into Gotham is bothering people. The guy is after all trained by the league of shadows and not to mention he is the goddamn Batman which he uses darkness and stealth to his advantage. Getting into Gotham should be no problem for Bruce, doesn't really need a additional scene for it.

We're confused because they go out of their way to establish the fact that a) there is very little time left until the bomb explodes at that point (on the order of days), b) they established that Bruce is bankrupted, keeping only his house, so he should not be able to afford a fast way back and c) he's in a prison at least 5000 miles away from Gotham in another country (perhaps on another continent) with none of his resources available to him because all of his people are in Gotham under lockdown. He has no gadgets, no money, and no way to get help from Lucius, Alfred or Gordon. He's Batman, not Jesus.

Thanks. I need to watch this again.

That sequence was one of the times where I found some of Bane's speech indiscernible, and it did seem like a stupid Bond villain's way of punishing his opponent while giving them ample opportunity to cook up a solution.

Movie was definitely cut down, probably to make it a single imax real. With the stuff going on in the movie it should've been rotk length.

I really hope for an extended edition but knowing Nolan that probably isn't going to happen.

Just watched batman begins. Anyone else think its a completely different movie from the later 2? I can't put my finger on it, but perhaps a lot cheesier.

I would have liked to heard what happened to the Joker. How do you let all the scum of Gotham loose and not tell what happened to him? Either he died or he got free with the rest of them. They said they told Joker's story and didn't want to piss on Ledger's grave, but Crane's story was already told as well yet he is in it.

Yeah, this was the one thing that really bothered me.

I would assume Joker wasn't in Gotham at the time. Arkham and the Narrows might still be fucked and with a bad reputation, Joker is moved to a max security place somewhere far away. Either that or he gets sticked in jail by someone who was in danger of losing someone on the boats or something, you know?

I actually like the openness of it.

The joker and batman are destined to do it forever, but with Bruce's Batman gone will he still have as much fun with JGL or whoever? If he's alive of course

it's up to the audience :D

Honestly an 18 wheeler careening around the abandoned city streets aiming for pedestrians with that signature laugh ringing out would have been enough for me.

Oh boy you movie is going to need some 'splaining to do. A good chunk of my friends think he came back from the dead using his supernatural methods lol.

See Solo? Even when Nolan tries to hammer it home people don't get it lol.

He should have ended it with Ra's going "AND IM STILL DEAD, YOU BROKE BACK BITCH! *fades away*"

What sticks out the most is how much cheaper it looks back in Gotham. Bruce training is gorgeous. Batman in the narrows? I can't shake that I'm looking at something fake.

In other ways all three movies feel notably different to me. I like that.

Mid way through the Bane/Batman fight, Bane should have taken a moment (while Bruce was on the ground, reeling) to address Selina up on the catwalk:

"Hey, Woman. Hey, Woman! Listen here. Since your old man ain't got no heart, maybe you like to see a real man. I bet you stay up late every night dreamin' you had a real man, don't ya? I'll tell you what. Bring your pretty little self over to my apartment tonight, and I'll show you a real man"

if robin became batman would he be

red robin?

for a reboot i'd actually like to see

Harley Quinn
Batman - bruce wayne
Robin - Tim Drake
Nightwing - Dick grayson
red hood - jason todd

but i think this is probally to close to batman TAS/ under the red hood (which i think would make a good live action movie)
