Don't usually agree with Richard Roeper (or critics in general for that matter) but his review was spot on.
Roeper is the only critic I can say I agree with at least 90% of the time. We share similar tastes. I pretty much don't listen to any other, or at least let them sway me in any way. I just watch movies to enjoy them tbh.

Really enjoyed the movie, will have to see it twice to get a true feeling for it.

Bane punching Batman in the head until his mask broke was insane.

Every time the batcycle did its sideways tumble was so good. It will never get old.

Bane was completely awesome until the final 20 minutes. The plot basically boils down to, "crazy dude takes city hostage to score some pussy". Ridiculous. In fact the entire movie felt really fantastical compared to the previous two. DKR felt like a straight up comic book movie. I was still entertained though.

Crazy guy takes city hostage to FULFILL RA'S AL GUH'S DESTINY, OF COURSE.

Pretty much everyone who is involved with the League of Shadows was brainwashed to want to fight for that "vision" of the future. Probably all desperate people looking for a purpose

Except BRUCE WAYNE. He already knew his purpose before going there.

The goggles give Selina all purpose "Cat" vision. It's like detective mode in the Arkham games.

Also, they give her quick time events.

And Instant Dealwithit

Shameless "lets make the audience cheer by referencing something they like" moment.

I wholeheartedly disagree. This to me would imply that this was some sort of after thought, I think having the name Robin drives home the point further that this now retired cop is going to assume the mantle in Batmans stead. I feel the movie title is not only a reference to Batmans rise from retirement/being broken but also Blakes rise as well. I wouldn't relegate this sort of fanservice to shameless or pointless.

When batman is leaving with the bomb, when gordon and him have the final exchange, what did Batman say to gordon?

"When you wrap your coat around a child...something something something."

I instantly got that scene, i like they threw in that flashback.

I went to a 10:10 showing last night, the seats in the theater were huge, comfortable recliners. The darkness of the theater and those sweet, sweet chairs put me to sleep :( I MISSED THE MOVIE :(

Blake would be dead on his first night out. Batman fucked up a few times in BB and he had League of Assassins training.

When you wrap your coat around a child to comfort him and let him know that it isn't the end of the world.

The middle part I know I'm mucking up, but man, one of the top 3 most emotionally affecting scenes in the movie.

sometimes all it takes is a gesture like wrapping your coat around a child to let him know that it isn't the end of the world (or maybe it's let him know that everything is going to be ok).

paraphrasing, probably missed a word or two. LOVED that line.

They didn't really need to drop that his birth name is Robin at the end. Would've still been as meaningful when he entered the cave.

When Batman said that, I started crying.

It's a goddamn shame that Nolan didn't trust us to get it and had to drop in that flashback.

I watched it.

I loved loved loved it. Instantly better TDK but by no means am I putting down TDK.

I don't know where it against BB...BB is always so special to me. Its perfect and right off the bat (heehee) I know what ppl had problems with in TDKR (and I can understand them) but man I loved this movie.

So satisfying with a perfect ending (if not bittersweet because I always wanted a super happy ending where Bruce just becomes Batman forever and continues to work as Batman).

I am dying to go see it again.

Both Bane v Batman fights were great and unlike previous movies you could see everything. The 2nd fight where Bane just goes nuts was amazing. Starts fighting the wall too. The first fight OMFG he did it...he broke his back. I didn't think they would do that.

Even the football scene was shot and presented in a way it wasn't too bad. And in context it worked wonderfully.

AND THE MUSIC! I know its not really new but OMG when it hit the cues it was perfect. Like when Batman first comes back. Or when he climbs out of the prison.

I NEED TO SEE IT AGAIN!

Also I am ordering the soundtrack right now. Which version? And what is the art book for the trilogy called? I NEED IT ALL!

JGL lost his parents and found out later in his life how people hide their emotions, you have to just pretend and act like it didn't affect you, he knew from his own actions and saw how Wayne (whom he met at an event years before) acted and immediately knew.

Unfortunately, that only logically means he recognizes someone who disguises his grief and inner turmoil. It doesn't translate to then also recognizing that this man dresses up like a bat at night and beats up criminals.

That revelation was a poor piece of writing. Oh well.

It was all speculation on Blake's part but Bruce didn't even pretend to hide it. Pretty much everyone who talks to bruce in the film knows of his identity.

he is no jerry seinfeld when it comes to bootlegging
