GUYS HOW DID BRUCE GET BACK TO GOTHAM OMG

I still think the worst criticism laid at the movie is this idea that Talia should have used her real name the entire time instead of Miranda.

GUYS HOW DID BRUCE GET BACK TO GOTHAM OMG

After you solve that mystery, the next one is how he got a suit, a haircut, and a shave on the way back to Gotham, from the middle of nowhere, while he's in a desperate rush. He also did it without meeting with Alfred or Fox first, and he managed to get in during a massive city lockdown. It's really impressive!

That's why he's the GODDAMN BATMAN.

And now slashfilm is getting in on the TDKR hate train.

http://www.slashfilm.com/15-bothered-the-dark-knight-rises/

which is also one of their issues.

Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard Have Sex – On the one hand, yes these are two very attractive individuals. Why shouldn’t they give in to their carnal desires? On the other, more reasonable hand, there is virtually no development in the relationship between these two. They’re running in the rain, then they start making out, then in the next scene they’re naked. If only real-life romance worked like this…

Uhm, what? They do. Wtf?

One thing that bothered me was an explanation why during their last fight, Bane all of a sudden was super fast and strong (breaking teh wall with his punch, throwing lightning fast combos). It's a given that he's fast, strong and skilled as was shown during their first fight... but during that last fight, he suddenly started moving like he was on venom, yet they never once mentioned this aspect of the character. I wish they had.

Also, I literally did the Home Alone hands on face (without the scream) when Prof. Tate stabbed Batman. Twist caught me completely off guard.

Lastly, some chick a few rows back began bawling out loud when it appeared Bruce Wayne was dead. Half the theater turned their head and looked back, lmao. It was so genuine, it moved me. As we all exited the theater, I sought her out and asked her if she was the one who was crying... she said yeah, and that it was because her entire childhood had come crashing down and she couldn't hold back. I told her that was awesome and gave her a fist bump.

He also stopped for condoms. You don't know where Selina has been!

Nah, Bruce straight up murdered 100 ninjas in BB.

More like nonjas.
Stupid ninjas should keep all their gunpowder near so much open flame. Accidents happen!

I just rewatched BB and noticed that Bruce was just about to receive some kind of brand before he lit the place up. I take it that's the scar we see on Talia?

(and yeah, it does look like the criminal he wouldn't execute had to have died in the flames he started. Nutballs.)

The whole prison and escape thing didn't work for me. They gave no sense of how he got there or back. Leaving a few small details unresolved isn't the problem - these are rather large holes.

Someone needs to do a gif of Alfred looking at the camera and nodding and cut to the first shot of Leo in the Django trailer, nodding back.

I always took the speech in Inception about dreams feeling real until you wake up as Nolan also letting us know how he makes movies. It's believable while you're there and caught up in the action, and falls to pieces soon after. Making lists like "35 gaping plot holes in TDKR" seems like such a weird thing to me. I completely -get- the complaints and how they can make people annoyed with the movie, and I don't fault people for letting that mess with their enjoyment, but it doesn't seem like Nolan is that interested in making movies that hold up 100% every step of the way.

Don't forget the huge off-screen body count in the narrows. When so many violent criminals let loose and the gas everywhere, tons of people must have died. We just don't see it!

It's funny, but Joker has probably the lowest body count by far in the trilogy.

On this one a whole (minus one) whole football team is killed. With coaches and cheerleaders and stuff.

The whole city is blown up. 3 bridges (which i presume were full) falling down.

The trial People sent to the river on exile.

Random people being shot by criminals.

Police being shot on the street by bane thugs.

I think that's more than BB. I don't know if the scarecrow venon actually killed people on BB though.

Yeah, I was like wtf when he got into the city AND was suited up and shaved.

I'm still befuddled as to why people have issues with Miranda and Bruce having sex. The whole point of her character (as Miranda!) was to gain Bruce's trust in order to accomplish her ultimate goal. It's really one of the silliest things to complain about for this movie.

Does everybody get out of the hospital?

Yes. The only person who died in the hospital is the cop who went to check up on Dent and got shot iirc.

Joker killed Dent and Rachel though, and sent Batman into exile for 8 years.

The Joker is the most effective and efficient villain in the trilogy in terms of successful goals. He also killed the least number of innocents to carry out those goals. Which says a lot!

I think Joker knows who he is, but he doesn't care either way. He commented that he thought he really might have been Dent, the way he threw himself at Rachael. That clearly indicates he thought about it, and if he isn't Dent, there's really only one other possibility!
Joker doesnt know Batman is Bruce or else he wouldnt go on blackmailing him to reveal his identity ..

I was actually joking. Due to BB, we didn't need to see how Bruce got back. Dude lived among criminals/smugglers and traveled the world for 7 years. Him getting back into Gotham is one of the more plausible things.

I haven't watched the Dark Knight recently, but is the whole anyone can be batman theme in rises contradictory to it? I thought part of the point in the Dark Knight was that only Bruce Wayne could be Batman as shown by the stupid imposters.

Yes. The only person who died in the hospital is the cop who went to check up on Dent and got shot iirc.

Presumably the other cop the 2nd cop went to check up on also died.

The two cops Gordon refers to possibly?!

Don't forget all of the robbers/criminals that The Joker kills during the robbery and when dealing with the mob. The Joker killed more criminals than innocents, I reckon.

He didn't know initially. I'm pretty sure he knows by the end. You forgot that he also changed his mind and told people to kill the guy who was going to spoil Batman's identity later on. The Joker doesn't actually care about who Batman "really is" personally, it's all a game to him and he's using it to rile the public up and create chaos.

Only because the boats didn't blow up

The only thing in the film that really didn't sit well with me. If anything, I would imagine Bruce shutting out his personal life in favor of being Batman. They could have still started the film the same way as well. With crime so low in Gotham City, Bruce is struggling. He can't turn to his alter ego for escape and doesn't want to fully embrace the billionaire rich boy persona as well.

Let's retcon Batman Begins.. how did he get around for 7 years without his resources!

Yes we desperately needed scenes of batman sneaking back into Gotham, taking a shower and then shaving. This would have been so exciting
