Trading 2 summer stashes for Nature's Prophet stuff.

I have two NP rares (Staff of the Eagle and Horns of the Peace-Bringer), but I'm only interested in keys when trading.I don't know if people trade keys for rares or not. What's the major marketplace for dota2 trading? Is there some place that records going rates for things?

just had my first disconnect because the game freaked out on the hero select screen, just constantly scrolling through all the heroes as fast as it could. i ended up with a random hero and then the game ran at about 1 fps. i quit everything else i had running but it didnt help :S

Just finished what I'm pretty sure is the worst match I've played in Dota 2.

First time using Dark Seer, I just kept on being a little bit past the edge of safety and I kept getting punished for it and I was always a second too late in using my skills.

Positively dreadful.


My poor W/L ratio was positive until just a few days ago, sigh.

Yup. Cool game. I loved it when Funn1k (Leshrac) just charged in like a MAN into all of LGD and sacrificed himself to save the rax and make time for SK and Prophet to kill LGD's rax. That was really smart.

Also EVE strikes me as AFK ricing, so maybe that's why it's paired with AM.

Okay - didn't make the DS connection because I remembered all his other spells but Surge.

The AM connection is still kinda iffy to me. I've played a lot of EVE. I guess the best connection there is that they're both boring?

And it took me a while to figure out the game being referenced with Necrolyte, but I'm pretty sure that's Pandemic 2 (Madagascar, you know.) So spreading death/disease.

And Profit to Killing Floor makes sense if you were riffing off that song I suppose. It's more of an abstract one though.

Just realised I got into the Beta today and played some games. I've played a few hundred games of LOL so I'm not completely new to the moba genre but this game seems very unintuitive. I played two games against bots one as windrunner, another as warlock. If you guys could help out could be great.

1. Hero select isn't as fast/good as it could be; is there a grid view?

2. Item build seem to make no sense to me: what do I buy if I want health? What difference do Strength, Intelligence, Agility make? If I choose an Intelligence hero should I only buy intelligence items? Some items say they need the secret shop - what is that and where is it? I saw an auto-buy option in the menus but when I turned it on it bought my starting items but never anything more - is there a trick to it? Items aren't very clear as to their purpose - I wanted to watch the guide in the OP but its an hour long.

3. Is there a smart-cast equivalent?

Invoker = Wizard that uses multiple element combinations, Magicka = combining different elements for spells
Pugna = Practices magic from nether realm, says oblivion a lot
Necroloyte = Plague Spreader, Picture = Bubonic Plague map

1. Hit CTRL to go into grid view.

2. Item build differs from hero to hero and depending on your lineup and the enemy lineup, look up guides. STR raises HP for all heroes and ATKDMG for STR heroes. AGI raises ATKSPD, Armor, for all heroes and ATKDMG for Agi heroes. INT raises MP and MP regen for all heroes and ATKDMG for INT heroes.

1. Press ctrl at hero select
2. str=health, health regen; agi=attack speed, armor; int = mana, mana regen. If your hero has their primary attribute in str, they get damage as well as the aforementioned bonuses, etc int agi. items are less passive than in lol and have on use properties.

If you want the easy version;

All heroes like strength, HP is very good in this game especially early on. Don't stack it but use strength power treads and bracers if you find yourself dying a lot. Strength carries usually opt for damage items or armlet instead of just stacking pure strength. Most useful items already have strength on them.

Intellect is nice but it's not required for most intellect heroes. Intelligence heroes usually focus on items that apply to the situation. Silencer/Outworld Destroyer are two heroes that stack intelligence to do more damage.

Agility is advisable to stack on agility carries. It does everything a carry needs besides mitigation to magic damage. (Usually you would get a Black King Bar or Heart of Tarassque/Vanguard on an agility carry to mitigate magic damage, almost never get hood).

This is just an easy outline, some heroes benefit more from stats than others do (Illusion heroes in particular).
