Do you use gendered insults for the opposite gender

I can't even think of a male specific slur. I'm sure someone will reply to me with some weak examples. I just can't even think of anything.

Well this is a warm welcome to the beginning of a conversation, but I always took "bastard" as being something that most people used toward men. I've never seen it applied to women, though I guess it technically could.

An out of wedlock child. Much like another term for prosititute, it is actually neutral but gets commonly used with one gender.

I'm okay with gendered insults for both gender, but not the harsher variety for females (Cunt, eh etc) as females have a more vulnerable position in society.

As a non-native speaker I'm no expert, but bitch sounds like a pretty awful word, even if its use as an insult for a woman who does dumb things, because the origin of the world implies that she is promiscuous and somehow being promiscuous is just not ok for women, men don't have such epithets, so is basically a very sexist insult.

I would compare it to call something "gay" when is just dumb or stupid, people don't realize but the origin of using the word comes from discrimination, theres a reason why "nigger" evokes so much to everyone, even if is a pretty unoffensive word by itself.

And you people have insults like asshole, douch bag or things like that that are even better when insulting someone from doing dumb and stupid things.

I don't insult people usually, actually I don't really remember the last time I call anybody names, but I use gender insults for both gender and on myself, I don't even know what they mean originally anymore.

I don't use them but mostly because they don't have as much of an impact as an insult when it's so commonly spoken. When girls casually refer to each other as bitches, it takes a lot of the punch out of it.

However, if you knew there was something that would break an adversary, it's almost compels one to use it. The purpose is to dominate, humiliate and outright destroy an opponent if necessary without having to resort to force.

I do think it's somewhat humorous to be progressive about words that are primarily meant to insult, as if gendered neutral insults are arbitrarily deemed to be less offensive, but so long as the moderation is equal on all gendered insults as a whole, there's no logical inconsistency.

I don't think bitchy has anything to do with promiscuity. At least I've never heard it used that way.

I was under the impression that the origin of the word meant to imply the person was a female dog.

Pretty sure the word "gay" used to mean happy and it's only been in recent times that it has been used as another word for homosexual.

in any case there should be a sticky created with some clear info and the FAQs should be updated

i'll be busy creating new insults to use, i'm liking banana-fucker quite a bit

Wish I was British so I could call men cunts and sound cool :(

I would just call women slags if I were British because you got to keep it classy.

I use the word bitch all of the time but I don't think I've actually called a woman a bitch since I was...8 maybe? I try to stay away from the really bad name calling when I'm mad at someone and just stick to asshole or dumbass.

This is the 50th thread about this shit in the past 2 months and I am not even kidding here. And they are always the same. And do nothing (good at least).

Nope. Only if you don't know the impact of gendered pejoratives and think the male equivalents are the same.
Well, if we are grading things by impact, surely we need to be wholistic in our assesment. We better get rid of gender categories and consider each insult on its ability to have an impact on a larger group, not just the target, when used.

No it's not. Do you know what a douche is?

Yes it is, is is a device used only by women.

I'm curious why not?
Because asking for male slurs to be bannable is just being offended for the sake of being offended. We don't face sexism and we aren't reminded 24/7 why we're inferior just for being male nor is there pervasive sexism against males. It's similar to the n-word/cracka false equivalency, which Louis C.K. dirtnapped. A male slur being directed at me is the same as calling me a gender-neutral insult like "idiot", the male slur only affects me at face value and there's nothing loaded behind it.

My gendered slurs are aimed without prejudice at either sex. I tend to find in the real world people are able to take them in context without assuming underlying sexist motives.

And if that word is really banned then it's a huge blow to Breaking Bad threads.
