Roll all 3 "problem" classes like me! Interestingly enough, each of those classes are the only ones even remotely interesting to me. My main will be a theif, then necro, then a mesmer. I also want one more alt which i think will be a warrior. I just want a good heavy armor class really.
However, Dual Spec in WoW was never meant to be a "pick two flavors" thing; it was a (very post-release) patch to alleviate the hole they had dug themselves in with the whole "want to play a healer, but you're soloing now? TOUGH LUCK" thing. It wasn't meant to change your DPS playstyle, but a way to be viable in two completely different roles which were needed BY DESIGN in dungeons. GW2 has no such hard enforcements; if your build is good for soloing, it's good for dungeons and nobody needs to sacrifice themselves.
See? You put a perfect example. Being one or the other is just different flavors of DPS; neither prevents you from playing content meant for the other.
I realize its just two flavors of dps, but I just dont understand why I cant have it since having that is not game breaking in any way. All it will do is give me more enjoyment. Whats wrong with that?

Some of you might enjoy this. Interactive character creator on youtube. At first i was like, yes! I can mess around with sliders and presets and the like. Nope. Its just about your choices. Still useful i guess if you want to see the most interesting intro for story purposes
OK, one question. Why stop at two? Why not three? If three's good, why not four? I'm not actually sarcastic, I want to know why "two" is better than both "one" and "three".
It seems to me that "two" is an entirely arbitrary number. The whole idea of having character specializations is so that your character build and choices feels both more unique and that they have some weight. There seems to be important to strike a balance between that, and being locked into bad decisions. The problem is that this point of balance will subjectively vary greatly from one player to the next. Many hardcore RPG players might, in fact, consider that TOO MUCH of your character can be changed on the fly; that having both your entire ability set AND major traits not set in stone goes counter to their idea of customization. Others will rather want to have everything resettable without any fee, and for you to be able to change trait point allocation everytime you want. So, who's right?
Neat idea, especially for seeing them visually and in motion. This is probably better if you want to read the answers, though:

Yea, that definitely is smoother. Only downside is that it is in french and doesnt show the intro at the end
If you click the British flag in the upper right corner it will change everything to English, same for their skill tool page.
The people who want to have everything resettable without any fee, of course
Personally, id take saved specs though since it would be more convenient for me to not have to respecc constantly if i want to go with a different way of playing. As for how many specs, well, id be perfectly happy if you could have as many as you wanted. I think that would be pretty sweet

I see that on their skill tool page, but didnt/dont see it on that one. Odd
Does the Youtube version show the complete intro taking into account all your choices? If so, color me impressed because that's a lot of combinations.
do racial skills depend on the choices you make during the character creation, or do you automatically get every skill (once you unlocked them) for your race? I never quite managed to figure that out.

Just checked it. Nope (i stopped watching before fully checking since i didnt want spoilers). Cant say I blame him since I definitely wouldnt waste beta weekend capturing every combination like that.
You get them all.
1) Is War of Kryta worth playing for story? I was interested in playing it to see how much story-wise they added to bridge to GW2, but if it's all filler and stupid there's no point for me since I no longer need the opressor weapon.
Wetall Zero said:Is what? Their models are insanely great! Or you specifically mean armor?
Actually, the intro video seems to stop right before the question-specific stuff begins. So it's kind of incomplete...
Eh, anyway, I just uploaded my pics for the 3rd beta. I have a lot more Sylvari ones than Asura, for a number of reasons.
The Pale Tree. There's another one in the gallery with one of her guards.
3) If anyone trying get 30/30 in HoM wants some charity just PM today. I have money to hand out, a gold mini, two purples and a white, as well as 45 regular mesmer tomes (I love mesmer'ing). Though after today (7/29/12), assuming I don't play War in Kryta, I have no intention of ever logging into GW1 again.
I tried playing Guild Wars 1 several times recently, in anticipation for Guild Wars 2 but it felt grindy and just not funI'm even surprised I'm so excited by GW2.
I still need to make the 100k I need to get my final two HOM points for 30/50. I have a steam backlog to get to as well though. Oh, time, you.
Why is 30/50 the big cutoff point anyways? Seems like most want to get up to that point at least
#EU GW2 GAF - Home server poll
here's a poll for EU GAF to help us decide if
. we should join with the rest of GW2 GAFGuild on a US home server;
. we should settle on a EU home server;
. it's indifferent which home server we'll be on.
CLICK ME TO VOTE!
Thanks and do post your opinion on the matter![]()
voted for #3 (which I guess makes me vote kinda useless, heh) but I don't really see why we'd all have to play on the same server. Those who roll their characters on the EU server can still participate in all not WvWvW-related guild activities.
I feel the same way. I downloaded the free GW1 trial and it bored me to tears. GW2 beta was a blast though. They are just VERY different games
I'd like to point your attention to the following post if you plan to join GAFGuild and are from EU:
the poll addresses the issue regarding which Home server European gaffers should settle in at launch.
Voted for 2.
Have irl friends who want to roll EU server, thought the home server was Gandara too? After testing it in BWE3 it seemed like a sound choice.
Is that Captain Planet?
Heh! I let my GF make my sylvari and she liked blue skin the most. It doesn't make a lot of sense for a plant (outside certain flowers), but hey, the poor girl was doomed in a couple of days anyway, so...
For retail I'll either go leafy green, or barky brown. I recently found this pic and quite love the Sylvari in it:
It's funny actually - I JUST started playing GW1 for the first time a few weeks ago and I'm actually quite enjoying myself.I tried playing Guild Wars 1 several times recently, in anticipation for Guild Wars 2 but it felt grindy and just not funI'm even surprised I'm so excited by GW2.

This comes from a meta-gallery of someone who seems to be following quite a lot of GW2 galleries, including mine. Some of those pics are absolutely amazing, including breathtaking views and even panoramic pictures! Don't miss it!

reason #57 why you should play as Asura:
they get the best-looking armor sets
![]()
Isn't that Zojja's armor? Had no idea you could get that in game.
See that's why I'm not liking the sylvari, the clothes gets lots on the body. Like the skirt and stuff. That's one of the betters, but even then.. hrm. I'll be a tough decision between sylvari and my norn

Can you transmute the look of any armor, even ones you normally couldn't wear?
As in putting a light armor look on a Guardian or something? No, I don't believe you can. You're stuck within your armor class.
It's the tier 3, light, cultural armor of the Asura. Check them out here!
