esports are boring, ive watched like 1 or 2 matches, and its just bleh >.< why watch when you can play?
It's entertaining watching high level matches and seeing awesome strategies. It's also a fairly good learning tool if you want to understand how certain heroes need to be played.esports are boring, ive watched like 1 or 2 matches, and its just bleh >.< why watch when you can play?

Lane creeps actually gain stats ove the course of the game, getting stronger even if you don't destroy a barracks. So the creeps you see 30 minutes in have more health than those at minute 0.
But Shadow Blade is not really a good escape item and the other stuff it gives you doesn't seem to be worth much on a KotL.
But then again, I suppose that in pubs that entire sentence loses meaning because nobody ever buys detection.
Because its fun to watch high level play and its something to do when I dont wanna play. Same reason speedrun or challenge runs are fun to watch.
As a melee hero, what's the best way to deal with ranged heroes who can take free shots at you for days during the early lanes ? just hang in the back to get as much xp as possible ?

How are people building Nyx?
I see a lot of Dagon's picked up and I was wondering why. I know its nice to have that burst damage to finish a hero off quickly, but wouldn't stacking agility items scale with his ultimate better?
Any specific examples? It can be character specific at times.

I play Skeleton King

Kill them. If you can't kill them you chose a bad lane partner.

I've been trying to play heroes I rarely use, or disliked when I first used them. Today I tried out Spirit Break and Clockwerk again and won both matches. I didn't do that spectacular with either, but I enjoyed playing them and helped the team out. When I was SB we had a Lifestealer, so I would just charge in with him inside me and he would burst out for huge damage. I also tried maxing flare first for Clockwerk, and this is the way to go. I think pretty much all my kills were from flares (including some well-timed cross map attacks). I cannot land his damn hookshot to save my life though.
lol nice.
after 3 days of bot training im going in for some real games today to get cussed at
Does Forge Spirit's orb decrease armor of towers / buildings?
Ugh. So I'm playing as Tide, who seems pretty straightforward for a noob like me. But damn, trying to keep track of what the other heroes do is so daunting. I always have to second guess choosing him because I don't want to step on the toes of someone else on my team.
What's the fastest way to learn other characters are their roles?
Play themThere's no way around playing all the heroes at least once.
Have a playdota guide open in the background or read it up beforehand. Try to play a new hero everygame. Play single draft, or random draft, so you are forced to play new heroes. Sure you will suck the first time, but just ignore the haters and ask for help in chat if you don't know what to do. (or quickly read up the guide lol)
You know nothing Jon Snow
Guess I'll be going random for a couple weeks then haha. I have to say the amount of guides for this game is impressive.
less then that apparently.
Played a couple rounds with a ex lol player whos trying to convert to this and we did terrible against the bots.
Good news is a fellow gaffer spectated a few minutes and pointed a bunch of my malfunctions so that helped immensely so ty for that!
apparently venomancer shouldnt go 1v5 (which i tried.......constantly).
my biggest problem going to be the buttons....im not to swift with kb/m if its not your generic FPS wasd then trying to learn item builds and the heroes....i got a LOOOOONG way togo
