Accidently choose Visage... worst match ever. I can't micro for crap, even if he doesn't require much of it, still manage anything other my hero is too much. Still seems like a great hero to play if I knew what I was doing. Any tips or suggestions are welcome!

consider practicing your micro in vs bot matches. assign familiars to control groups (CTRL + number) and a group for the familiars and your hero.

practice, practice, practice. only way for the uncomfortable aspects of the game for you (in this case, micro) to work on those with practice. like all things, it will come with time.

I've been getting into playing lately but have only been playing in private both matches. Decided to go with Gyrocopter cause I like his voice. Does anyone have any tips for playing him? He's great for killing creeps but I'm useless against enemy lords.

Dota 2 doesn't seem to recognize my CTRL key for some reason when I try to bind it.

Too bad none of the pubs I've played with ever build him as support.

Really? He works really well when built up like the support he is. Of course, I kind of go crazy with my builds for most things, so I'm clearly not one to talk.

Still, I've been relatively successful with a Keeper built like this:

Usually go for my tranquil boots immediately (after buying courier). Honestly, I don't see the point in getting any other regen or stats for starting items. The ring of regen will generally be enough to deal with a moderate amount of harass and the armor ring comes very quickly for extra protection.

After I get my boots, I tend to get a medallion. The additional armor is nice, but the reduction in enemy armor is the main appeal, obviously.

That buildup of armor and armor reduction is where I tend to focus most of my attention, crazy or not. Mek comes next. Standard support. Of course, wards and courier upgrades usually come before the Mek.

At that point, I like to start working towards an Assault Cuirass, which seems weird to me but I like it all the same. I usually stop around this point so I can let others get at all that nice gold, but if given a chance to continue, I go for a Shiva's and finish it all off with a Desolator.

Yeah, never seen a Keeper in a pub game buy courier or wards. He get so much mileage on very little farm, but every time I lane with one they just spam Illuminate on creep waves and only replenish their own mana.

enemy lords.

It'll receive balance patches every few months, but not on a biweekly schedule.

I'm pretty sure Icefrog will release 6.75 after TI2.

I am ok with that (I guess). Just because I find it more balanced overall (champs + how bans and picks work + etc)
Axe has a 66% win rate in the past week. Most OP hero in the game plz nerf Icefrog.
I lost 2 matchs with axe last night. Wasn't even my fault. Axe is unlucky please buff.

It will likely get balance patches far less (Likely a main one every 3-4 months, and some smaller ones every month or so), new heroes will come in groups of 3 to 4.

But Valve will likely support the game in other ways. Once the game picks up steam, there will likely be weekly updates with cosmetic items, and work on the in game tools. I could see them pushing out some new maps that likely will aim at being more gimmicky then balanced, and push out some single player content in the form of tutorials and "Quests", which seem to be mini-games based on certain mechanics in the game, like last hitting or remembering Invoker's Combos.

Ok so have this nagging feeling in the back of my head. Do any of you known if dota 2 will be updated and balanced as much as lol is if not more so?

I don't know how much Lol is balanced/updated, but Dota 2 will almost definitely be updated as often as Dota. Meaning, one large balance/gameplay change every handful of months (roughly 2-4 per year) where a lot of heroes are slightly changed, some are reworked, and new heroes/mechanics added (if any). After the large patch, a few smaller patches usually follow which just make minor adjustments to the changes in the large patch, along with bug fixes.

The rate of patches might increase slightly as time goes on due to Dota 2 providing Icefrog with a lot more statistics, making it much easier to spot places which could use some balance work.

This is all about gameplay changes, by the way. The game will be updated much more often with cosmetics and other non-gameplay features as Valve adds them in.

Is there any way to disable the Win key while being in Dota?
Because sometimes I'm trying to mark the map and boom to the desktop... It's kinda annoying :|

Actually, I'm curious as to how balance work might change now that Frog has a team of developers/designers to work with.

This is all great news. Since I like Dota a lot, and I never even played mobas before lol and lol didnt help at all. Also will there be any new maps added in the future. Nothing game changing. Just cosmetic.

Last thing. Is there ANYWAY to flip the mini map. Every time I am trying to run away, my mouse slips and I click the mini map the procced to die.

There were different weather options in DOTA1 so they might make it over to DOTA2.

Not yet, I'm kind of surprised they haven't implemented it.

There is a command that avoids clics on the minimap if the cursor has not been over it for a certain lapse of time, it helped me. If you guys are interested I'll look it up.
