The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

I watched the Sleeping Dogs quicklook last night. I'm behind on my Sleeping Dogs coverage so I had no idea how much it copied the GTA formula. I thought the first half of the quick look was great but then the open world stuff hits and my interest went out the window.

Also Malicious looked great. I was waiting for the Vita version but I just get this one now

Malicious is awesome, the slowdowns can get quite annoying, but other than that it's a great game.

But I wish they'd rebalance it to make all the combos viable, the way the game works Squarex3 D-Pad Left again and again is much more effective than every long combo with launchers and weapon changing twice in between. But even so, the game is so fast paced and challenging that staying alive while doing this simple combo is already a blast!

Just picked it up and played for a while, the game is really fun and surprisiingly, not actually a buttonmasher. Once you get a little further in the game is a lot more skillbased than it seems at first. Like Vinny and Ryan start noticing at the end of the quicklook. :P
 
Man I was hoping the Persona 4 arena quick look was gonna be a pretend episode of the endurance run.

oh well EX Quick Looks are okay I guess.

I don't think we'll get any ER teases without a proper Persona RPG. I've predicted for years that when P5 comes out it will get a QL and everyone will be dissapointed that their doing a QL and not an ER, then the next day there will be another P5 QL posted, then they will just keep playing, and playing, and playing.

I'm pumped for this QL EX though. I thought the DS2 QL EX was really good and I'm expecting more of the same here.
 
Pretty sure they said that they're not in the business of spoiling atlus games with a walkthrough, especially brand new ones.
 
I might have to buy Book of Unwritten and that Kung Fu game.

It's nice to see GB covering smaller PC titles that aren't 'quirky platformers with the unique pixel art style and unique mechanic'

I was terrified by how glarey-eyed I found myself at the plain old incorrect 'ressentiment' comment. Not only is it a genuine word describing something very specific but it's an in-game reference. I'm waaay more of an internet+grammar nerd than I care to be.

(The word was on the end-of-first-term test though!)

i've been wondering, is it possible to date naoto? it seemed like her s.link sort of pans out the way it did in the ER no matter what. are the s.link's that nuanced to where you can max rank it but get different results?

i'm still really unclear as to why ryan sat in on the QL.

All the romanceable options in P3/P4/special editions etc. have friendship paths and romance paths. If Jeff and Vinny had picked a certain option (that Vinny actually wanted to do) during a certain scene, it would have unlocked the romance path for Naoto.
