So, if you delete items from the backpack, you get a chance to get a new item? I have a treasure chest and I'm thinking on deleting it.

I'm pretty sure it only works for actual gear :(

I, too, have a mountain of chests that I'll probably never do anything with.

The sad thing is I really like clockwerk as a character, his voice, his looks. But his spells >.< I mean, theyre ok, but he is so item dependent. Granted everyone is, but he seems more so. He also isnt 'durable' enough considering his ult is basically getting right up close and personal.

Puck is pretty awesome.

I like Tinker but I just can't BoT everywhere whilst using my ultimate then BoT back to base then teleport somewhere and use the march then go back the base and repeat ad infintium. I watched a game of some guy using him and the dude was literally at all towers on the map all the time, his team ended up losing but him preventing those pushes must have taken some serious skill.

He's that one trick pony: superb early game due to Battle Hunger, but the later game goes, the faster he becomes unviable for a team. I believe that he's the worst Initiator ATM.

Blink->Taunt->Blademail is great initiation. Axe is amazing, don't believe anyone that tells you otherwise.

I don't use Blink because I feel unconfortable with it.
But, I'm wondering, what do you guys think about using Shadow Blade? The other day I played with an Axe on my team using Shadow Blade, and while you might think it's nuts... His Shadow Blade trick worked quite well.

Even though his battlecry range is too freaking small. 275, srsly? It's almost as huge as Antimage's splash from Mana Void. Axe being picked by teams not for his initiation, but to burn enemies down early on, that's pretty much it. Considering how push oriented current meta is, he's doing pretty decent job at it.

Go into a bot match with cheats enabled->give yourself enough gold to buy a blink dagger and just play around with it (this takes a couple of minutes tops). Do this for any item you don't feel comfortable using. I guarantee after that blink and any other item will be second nature to you.

Can't say I like the value proposition on that versus a Blink Dagger for Axe, it's 1,150 more gold and you:

- Either lose the guaranteed crit or you potentially give your target(s) a brief window with which to react before the Call.
- Your initiation can be reliably countered with invis detection (Blink is much harder to counter).

Speaking more generally, if a Shadow Blade tactic doesn't involve that juicy crit it's probably not worth all the gold you're investing in it. Synergizes well with Kunkka, if you want to try out a hero who's suited to it.

I think ShadowBlade is somewhat easily countered, but blink is not.

I'd recommend getting comfortable with blink dagger. Everything comes with practice. Bots matches may be just what the doctor ordered for you. Punch in that console command for enough gold to buy a blink dagger and spend 30 minutes just blinking from place to place on the map. The only challenge is getting used to the maximum blink range so that you can anticipate where you'll end up. Once you've gotten that down, you'll be a very happy man. Get comfortable with the best places to blink from (ie from jungles into lanes, or how far behind a tower you can blink from the get in front of a tower to disrupt a tower push).

I know this goes without saying but it's really helpful to go into a bot match and just play around with late game items as a beginner simply because you generally won't have the chance to since they're both expensive and can be situational. If you feel "uncomfortable" with any item...you need to practice using it.

Interesting, and yeah, 1.100 gold is quite a sume early in the game. So, now I'm wondering, should I get Blink after getting Vanguard? Or after getting the upgraded boots (I usually get Healing Boots or Power Treads)?

I usually go Vanguard, upgraded boots (I prefer Arcane personally) then Blink.

I have to agree with this. Axe's damage is too unreliable. Not a huge fan of rng, especially when the payout is only 175 damage. Compared to other iniators that "need" blink dagger (SK/ES/Enigma) he kind of falls short. His laning phase is infinitely superior though.

I'm still curious about the potential of an Arcane Boots, Point Booster, Blink Dagger into Aghanim's Scepter (can disassemble the Arcanes when the time comes) styled Axe, one who jumps in and tries to quickly cull a target to splash on the movement speed buff on as many of his teammates as possible to take on a lopsided teamfight, and tries to keep culling targets with the new CD to keep the speed on. Might give him stabler contributions into the lategame, but I can't say for certain.

my current axe build is:

ring of health -> reg boots -> vangard -> blademail -> boots of travel

after that its just luxury item build for me, but most of the time ill get skull basher.
also even though its not included i will always get a ring of basilius or aquila. just because i am always running out of mana.

This is how real men build axe.

RoB + Tango > Boots > Arcanes > Aghs

GG you just won the game.

Skill should be WEWEWRWEESSRSSSSSRSSSSSSQQQQ

Interesting, hadn't thought of this build.
I'll try it tonight.

I usually go, 9 Tangos, Block Shield. Then Ring of Health, and Vit Booster or Health Boots.

thats 6 tangos more than i usually need. i just go axe, shield and 3 tangos. but thats just me.

boots of travel seem dumb. but that move speed helps alot plus being able to tele almost anywhere every 60 secs is amazing.

skull basher gives me stuns. which help alot cuz i am too lazy to chase. even with my taunt and slow people can/will get away.

ring because i actually use my skills. taunt is WAY more helpful than people think. i remb one game this sand king kept trying to hide in his damn sandstorm. and everytime i would taunt him out of it. or when riki is trying to run away, taunt -> do a little dmg -> W -> wait a few secs. gratz riki is dead.

actually starting to enjoy this game.

Ill play a round...get dominated by whatever character....goto purgeplays whatever character, find out what happened. lather rinse repeat.
Starting to get a extremely loose basic grasp of roles, gameplay, items etc with this method.

still making alot of noobtastic mistakes but slowly getting there

Just carry TPs and get a blink dagger to chase down.

Well it's not that Boots of Travel is bad but... usually it's more luxury than most luxury items, acquired only at 40-50+ minutes when you need the TP slot for another luxury.

Well, Axe isn't really a fighter. Sure, it works on him, but it's not really your job to whack enemies, but to hold them down for your team to kill.

Ring really can't support his mana pool usage, you'd be better off with arcane boots.

if you can use bd great for you. but half the time i forget i have it or miss click. plus i don't get 6 strength plus 40 dmg (more health regen is always good). plus the boots help me chase if i want. also i don't see the point in getting tps with axe. its just a waste of a slot, i don't really like arcane boots, treds are great if you want even more health which i don't need. and phase boots are only great for burst of speed. i need to be able to go across the map is needed and mov boots do that. they also let me run away in clutch situations.

axe isn't a fighter but you can only taunt for so long. plus with the stun you aren't taking unneeded agro. also its not like i spam skills or max his taunt till mid/late game. ring is really useful in the laning phase. it not only helps you but also your buddy. its not needed. and i tried arcane but i just found ring to be better imo.

Yeah, the Enchantress is doing twice the work it might seem. Mirana's job at the moment is to attract attention and die, I guess.

It's perplexing to see a team pick her still because she's one of those heroes that fell out of favor for what seems like a very obvious reason to me. So many heroes would have worked better in their lineup.
