Darksiders 2 new info! [one month away from release]

I'm extremely curious to see what they will do with Dark Millenium as a single player.
The idea of a whole MMO world recycled for a single player game is exciting, but then you have to wonder if the core game mechanics and NPC interactions will be suited for the task.

Kinda hoping for something like Space Marine 2, except bigger and more varied. Captain Titus as Deathwatch/attached to an Inquisitor, lots of worlds to travel to, vehicles, bigger and more epic scale multiplayer with vehicles (y'know, like 40k actually is on the tabletop ;))

War's voice was a little overdone at times. Like he was saying something deep and epic every single time when he wasn't lol.

I just think War came across very stoic to me. Unaffected on an emotive level by pretty much everything sans The Watcher causing him pain. So most of his lines come across very even keel. Loved it! That dude is all business seriously!

If someone would dare to say to me that any Assassin's Creed is better than Darksiders I would laugh at his face, for instance.

I think that depends on what particular Assassins Creed we're talking about here. The original? Yeah I can see that. II? (The standalone game, not the whole saga) I don't think so. But then again I'm getting ahead of myself and actually need to complete DS1 to make a full honest opinion.

Why the hell would you want to play an action game with mouse & keyboard. There is absolutely no benefit.

Some action games actually play better with mouse and keyboard (Batman Arkham Assylum and Arkham City for example).

I started out playing AA with my 360 controller, I forgot it at a friends house one day so I had to use M+KB and I was amazed how well it worked, from then on I made the switched and haven't looked back.

For Devil May Cry 4 I still use 360 pad though.

I just don't get what the big deal about AC series is, I've finished 1 and 2 and while they are neat games due to where they take place and such. They are also probably some of the most repetitive easy brain dead games I have ever played. I don't get the hype around them =/

For Kingdoms of Amalur and Batman I felt mouse shit all over pad.

But for darksiders and dmc I felt pad ruled over mouse

Even his laugh at the end was badass.

I just beat the first game on PC and holy shiet when War was like "not alone" my hair felt like it was zapped by electricity. (cuz it was intensely badass)

I will buy this game.

holy shit just got the game for free :D

some guy added me on steam and wanted my very unique pyro mask. I rarely play TF2 and don't give a shit about the hat i wear so that was an awesome deal!

I just saw a bunch of screens from Gametrailers' post on Facebook and suddenly I am very interested in this game. The art style looks very Blizzard-esque, in a good way.

I know nothing about this series besides that people compared the first one to Zelda adventures. Can someone here please sell me on the sequel and tell me why I should be excited about it aside from the awesome art style?

Hey Tragic, what do you think about DmC?

Oh man, what can I say that already hasn't been said!? DMC3 is one of my personal favorite games of all time, and Dante one of my favorite characters. Like a lot of people, I'm not behind the character redesign, however, I think that gameplay wise, it will still probably be "DMC". DMC always had a distinctively Japanese style to it so I'm intrigued to see Ninja Theory's take on it. On the plus side, I've always enjoyed the storytelling and performance capture that Ninja Theory has done.

And anyway, I'm always up for more combat games!

Whoooa, time to go through my hats

Did you get a chance to play it yet?

Glad to see another fan of the series is willing to give it a shot.

If the combat looks this good in Darksiders II being the game it is, I imagine how awesome would be a hack'n'slash by Vigil.

Man *-*

Diablo [or Guardian of Light] type of the game, set in the time when Niphillim fell. #want

Tragic/hdn, is there any plans on releasing modding tools/level editor for Darksiders II? Maybe we can make that type of game ourselves. :D

Yeah he said he wants to play TF 2 competitive and wants to look good lol.

gahahahaha that's so stupid. Looks should be the last thing to worry about... you prob just jacked some poor fathers work money a kid just used :lol

Then again people bought shit on diablo for 250 bucks.... *fuck this world*

Well I dont know much from tf2 economy but a fast google check says that hat costs around 150-180 usd.

That's if you take the effort to sell it that high though. The fact he got a game out of something he wasnt even planning on messing around with would be more than enough to me xD

Almost zero chance to sell it that high. Not many are stupid enough to pay so much just for a stupid TF 2 hat. And this game is a first person shooter you only see the hat when you taunt. Totally useless if you ask me.

First he want to give me Orcs must Die or Borderlands GOTY edition. Not even a new game :P nah i'm very happy with the outcome, now i'm hyped for Darksiders II. Bring Death on!

You would be surprised. I've got a friend who bought bd2 and his whole steam sale log on a couple of hats.
Seriously tf2 economy is not a thing to take lightly.

http://community.darksiders.com/go/...075/Introducing_Darksiders_II:_Nightmare_Mode

As we continue to get closer to the launch of Darksiders II, we would like to reveal a new addition that will be included within Darksiders II, Today we would like to introduce the functionality of Nightmare Mode.

For those of you wanting additional challenge, Darksiders II will feature a Hardcore Difficulty which will unlock once you finish the main game. In this mode players have one life and if they lose it via a combat death they lose all saves associated with that playthrough and will have to start from scratch. This is a truly apocalyptic challenge for only the most skilled horsemen!

Keep in mind again that your save file is only reset if you die in combat, so things like falling deaths or getting killed by lava are not things that will reset your gameplay within Nightmare mode.
Thanks

When is the OT coming?

Anyone know what console plus magazine gave Darksiders 1?

I don't think that I will play Nightmare mode anytime soon. But I'm glad it exists.

One week before US launch, Aug 7.

Anyone on GAF want to race me in a first to finish Nightmare mode. Of course this means you have to finish the normal game first then jump into that.

YEP.
But I should point how that's not even a merit for Darksiders.
It's just that AC2 is a terrible game by itself.

I do love Darksiders and I do love AC2 but so happens I enjoyed myself more with the later, so for me AC2 was still the better(read: fun for me) game, but to tell you the truth that is not even worth arguing with since Im ok if you think Darksiders is better, hell maybe if I play it today I would think that too, I played when it was released so my memory of it might be a little off.

Good thing though is that I'm seeing with this sequel that pretty much everything was improved and that makes me happy, if it is a AC>AC2 jump in quality it could become one of my favorites games this generation.

So back up your savegame every hour?

This doesn't work as it deletes every save related to it. If you mean back it up onto another area of your hard drive or off your computer/system then that's just scumbag and what's the point of even doing that mode.

You're on.
Are we doing first play through to unlock the mode on apocalyptic? Might as well get some ground rules going :P

We're gonna have to setup some rules for that race.

The point of the race is to do it in Nightmare Mode, so to unlock, just doing it on normal will be fine.
