The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

It's nice to see they give a lot more hints in this version of La mulana, but I really won't let that fool me. The game is probably still complex and convoluted as it ever was.

All the romanceable options in P3/P4/special editions etc. have friendship paths and romance paths. If Jeff and Vinny had picked a certain option (that Vinny actually wanted to do) during a certain scene, it would have unlocked the romance path for Naoto.

I wish they had found enough time in the game to finish Kanji's S. Link.

Even after 100 hours, they missed out on a lot of great scenes.

Will Chie's voice be the same in P4G?

No, there's a ton of new scenes in there with voice acting, and since they couldn't get her VA back and since it would awkward for there to be two voices going back and forth, her voice has been totally replaced.

The Quick Look EX is nice, but I hope there's more coverage of the game... like a TNT... or perhaps... a Scrub League Tournament?

I dont have any interest in fighting games, and I had already marked Persona 4 arena as being a stupid game. Just because they decided to take this RPG ( that I love mind you) and making it into a fighting a game. But after looking at the mechanics and what the story stuff has to offer, its on my list of interesting things that I want to check out

I had that same thought, then I remembered there's hardly anyone around to take part. They'd probably end up just having to rope in Gamespot people and I don't really know or care about any Gamespot personalities.

The mechanics are similar to previous fighters the dev has made, so I dunno why you'd have marked it off as stupid from the start since the developer behind it would have given you an idea of what to expect.

Really digging La-Mulana. There's something great about the walk animation, the float of the jump, and the whipping animation that really appeals to me. Not to mention that great old laptop interface. I'd probably lose my cool playing it very quickly, but I really had fun watching the Quick Look.

I'm probably going to end up pre-ordering the P4Arena... I've been thinking about it all day since I saw the QL... Dang it.

With the P3 chars involved and the potential of the story stuff in this actually leading into P5, why would Persona fans skip out on P4A?

You should've been following the threads, ignorance isn't an excuse! ;P

And for those wondering how meaty the story mode is:

Going through all characters Id have to say at least 10 hours. If you read / listen to everything and not skip stuff. Though some stories are shorter since some parts will overlap which can be skipped if wanted. Such as the main 4 starting characters story. Yu, Chie, Yukiko, Yosuke.

If you are a fan of P3/P4 the story really is well done and worthy of being an addition to the series. Since the story takes place 2 months after the events in P4, during golden week where Yu is coming back to the town to visit everyone while on vacation.

I really like La Mulana, but so many of its "puzzles" are so obtuse that it's quickly lost its appeal for me. Shame, really.

All the P4A stuff makes me want to give the P4 endurance run another chance... I tried 2 or 3 times now and I just can't get into it. I love the Jeff-Vinny conversations but I have absolutly zero interest in the game so it's tough to get into it.

Cuz fighting games ain't my primary style and I'm afraid of playing online! Ah, I think I'll get it eventually. Looks like a pile of fun and it might be easy to get into.

Watching that QL was reminiscent of old times.

Chie's room :)

Chie's voice :(

I'm totally sold on this, even if only for the story mode.

I'm so torn about this game.

P3/P4 are two of my favorite 5ish games of all time.....but the chie/teddy voices are straight out of a nightmare considering how much I've played/watched P4.

I also do like accessible fighting games and played an insane amount of MK9 ....but much prefer MK style of tap directions instead of quarter circle movements that leave me a damn disaster in these games.

Gah!

It's not too late for you guys to get on the Yukiko team. We accept late additions

I don't play fighting games (but loved them as a kid) and Persona looked great. I wish there was an official stick because I'm thinking about buying one and jumping into modern fighters. I imagine the Japanese one is stylish as fuck

What is the most recent fighter you can buy bundled with a cheap stick? Street Fighter x Tekken?
