Men who play male characters are insecure about their sexuality... now I've heard it all.
That's not what they said.

Why do MEN play as female characters in MMO?
I am contemplating whether to make a norn or an elf guardian.
EotN (obviously) and Factions, that's it.What games do you have?
What is the Thief like in PvP? I've heard it's weak, hope not.
It's really bad, broken and useless at the moment.
You should not pick it at all.
Playing Thief at launch confirmed. It's really bad, broken and useless at the moment.

They're not like thieves/rogues in other MMOs. They weave in and out of combat, not go toe to toe like WoW's Rogues.
So do the dynamic events become more challenging and actually require coordination as you approach the level cap?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Anyone?

I can't really say since nobody has reached level cap.
Something like Skrittsburgh requires more than one group to handle, as the invasions can come from different directions. Something like that increased to greater lengths would require multi-group coordination.
I have certainly gotten my ass kicked by DEs, but we haven't seen past level 30 content. Unless you count the Gamescom Dragon demos.

Defiant:
Defiant is the "Control boon*" that many champions have, as you can see in the image below, defiant grants indignant when hit by control effects. It also has the passive effect of reducing the duration of blind by 90% and lowers the duration on weakness and vulnerability by 50%. So in short when you use any control effects on this target it will gain a set amount of Indignant this can be more then one at a time.
*Defiant cannot be removed by any means, including such skills as the Necromancers Spinal shivers or traits like searing flames from the Guardian.

Indignant:
again look at the picture below, indignant causes the target to become immune to all control effects, however using a control effect on the target will remove one indignant boon, but only one not the entire stack like it would if you where removing a condition from your self. As you can see next to the Indignant picture it has two stacks of it, meaning you will need to use two CC effects to remove it to allow you to land a control effect.

Nobody has ever said that in this thread.
So I skimmed through that huge post made by Jira and it was very interestingI do have a couple of questions though (that I might have missed since I didn't read all of it, sorry):
1 - So in the arena type PvP everyone's items and talents are brought down to a common level, right? What about WvWvW? Is that the place where having the best gear actually means something? I mean sure it's a huge battleground so individual people won't even leave a mark no matter how geared they are, but is that the place where to show off your "epics" and gear up your guildies for?
2 - Do the WvWvW battles last for full two weeks or are they over when someone "won" and then you just wait for the reset?
3 - In WvWvW can a single soloing dude playing alone do something for the good of the server? I don't mean like a hermit, but if it's in the middle of the night and not many people are on can I just fool around and gather supplies etc.
4 - Will the real-money stuff be available to buy day 1? Have they said anything about what we can buy?
5 - Are there daily... erm... motivations (quests in WoW) or is end-game just PvP and dungeons? Like I mean is there something related to daily quests or rep farming etc?
6 - Anyone know how awesome crafting will be? Like will I be able to actually craft awesome gear or is it just junk once I start getting PvP gear? Any craftables related to WvWvW like keep upgrades etc?
7 - No mounts, I guess?
8 - Once I complete a race's "starting area", can I hop on to other race's areas and do events and challenges there? How do I do that? Just run there?
9 - Are there any guild tabards, capes etc?
10 - Are there any tweaks or changes people have done to their .ini files or similar stuff? Like in WoW you could change the view distance a little further from there...

It's okay. I used to know men on RP servers who played female characters.
Oh I knew several of those.
I may be guilty of it myself, but it was just a RPPVP server so I mean you know I didn't actually ever RP as a girl.

After GW2, that WoW skill bar is absolutely hilarious. the entire damn screen is taken up!
Are you still playing? Armoried you and didn't find you. (just out of curiousity)
I've heard people say that you don't play WoW, you play its interface. I used to think that was simply being unnecessarily hostile towards the game, but holy god, that's hideous.
Gimme a sec, check back for an edit.
8- You can and should do that at level 1 if you feel like it. It's a blast.8 - Once I complete a race's "starting area", can I hop on to other race's areas and do events and challenges there? How do I do that? Just run there?

You've been defeated.
Actually, there probably will be capes. Capes have been seen in the game on NPCs and they are very well-animated, so it would be silly not to apply them towards players as well.
If capes provide statistical bonuses, i hope they can be hidden. I honestly dont picture my asura engineer wearing a cape. That just sounds weird

Speaking of Shaman... anyone notice when dual wielding axes on a warrior - #4 which is your dual strike has a tiny electrical sound... much like Enh Shaman's Stormstrike... which is a dual strike. Same type of attack - same soundShaman life yo =(
ANet would shrink Shaman abilities by like 70% and manage to retain all functionality.
Well, there could be other back accessories that you would use instead.
I demand a rocket pack
Planning out some characters I guess. Have any differences been found between bags boxes and the other type for inventory? I am looking at crafting options to spread across characters.
that game has a lotta icons
They just need some facial hair options that aren't thin, douche-baggy lines of scruff. My goatee is thick and manly, not a couple wispy hairs clinging to my upper lip. Almost all of the human male options are like, middle school face-pubes.
