Anyone care to recap today's stress test? Did it go better than yesterdays?
Yeah, it was fairly smooth. More like the one on the 9th; a bit more of the disconnects and only a few brief latency spikes.
Yep, no issues at all. The issue from Friday was because their ISP that fed the datacenter had issues in NA so it was out of their hands.

It is possible (with mods) to get a clean looking interface in WoW:
Though still not as clean or as pretty as the one in GW2. Though I played a rogue, which has less abilities to keep track of than most classes. Even still, this screenshot has 24 hidden buttons that are keybound and memorized. When in a raid, it's just got a small block of unit frames in the top left, which I don't have to pay much attention to because I'm a dps class.
I really LOVE the low number of keybinds needed for GW2.

I imagine anet will patch in the ability to customize the UI a great deal after launch.

The best mod for minimalist UI in WoW is the TukUI. Its amazing.

Yeah, there is no player collision.
Edit - Technically if you target a specific guy I think you'll collide with him, but I think that's more of a melee targeting feature than anything.
Bummer, although I do understand that It would make dynamic events unplayable.
You can toggle that on or off.
The game is third person. I'd rather stare at a woman's ass for hundreds of hours than a man's ass.
That was guildwarsinsider and I think they pushed whatever that was back to this week.

Couple of quick questions...
1) The early start is August 25th. So does that mean a specific time on that day, or is that midnight of the 24th?
2) Are you locked into one server? Or can you have multiple characters on multiple servers? I skipped past a warning when I trying the stress test (I only have 20 min to play) so I forget what it said.

Midnight PST. All characters are locked to your initial server choice, though you can pay via the store to change home servers (which varies in cost based on the population of your destination server).
friday midnight pacific. Well, i guess that would be saturday, but you know what i mean
You are locked, mostly because of WvW. However, you can guest on any server you like and do anything there except WvW.

I have been a lurker on NEOGaf for YEARS. I finally became a member earlier this year, though my lurking tendencies kind of stuck with me and I haven't posted much. My wife and I are incredibly hyped for GW2. Originally were planning to guild up with a bunch of people from our last MMO, Perfect World International...but i'm just not feeling it and want to be in a guild with a higher maturity level which I know GAFGuild will have. Wondering if I along with my wife(havent asked her yet myself) would be allowed to join. Only problem is she's not a member of Neogaf, though she certaily knows all about it because its almost always on my screen!

The stress test yesterday went well, no lag or rubberbanding. Framerate still drops in WvW, but really only during gate attacks. I also fiddled with the controls to get my camera swing, and now it works pretty well. Still trying to figure out the best combos for thief, though.

I'm very tempted to go Staff based Guardian, as my friend is going Warrior.
I'm going Mace/Shield + Staff.

It was the first time I tried it this weekend, and it seemed to work really well in the heavy support role I'm aiming for. Plus Asura do that strange spinning around on the staff animation when doing one of the abilities.
I forget which stress test, it was either this last one or the one before, but I saw on the chat a group will be hosting an end of GW1 event.

It's taking place in International District 1 - Ascalon City during Aug. 18th. They say it'll have trivia with lots of prizes, even stuff that will help for HOM. I don't know what the GW-EN group is, but this little event sounds interesting. At the very least, it might be a nice way to say goodbye to GW1. Reminds me when I used to hang out in the old arenas joining a group of break dancing rangers.

- They added a Support option in the menu when you press Escape.
- They restructured how the Graphical settings are laid out and have a preset dropdown menu now.
- UI scaling works gain, at least going from normal to small works right now.
- Audio options got restructured as well.
- There's now a sound quality slider.

When I launched GW2 just now it said I'm using a graphics driver with known issues. Since when? I have the latest driver straight from the nvidia site (301.42 for my 580) :/
