Out of the top 20 posters in this thread, 5 are "mumble gaf". Of those 5, archie posts about nerd shit, tomat doesn't play, and haly doesn't actually get in mumble. So, nope. Probably just seems like we post more often because those posts have lots of great character.

I thought people got banned some time ago for spamming this thread with their pointless in-group banter and for blatantly attacking others for posting stuff that is actually interesting to the majority. What happened to this policy? I thought this was frowned upon. It's even implied in the thread title.

I've come to accept the overwhelming majority of posts in this thread being written in some kind of cool slang and only remotely related to the topic of this thread, but criticizing the few posters that are actually trying to contribute in here in such an offensive way is taking it too far.

Aside from artanisix I don't think the people in mumble even post in here that much.

Whether or not that group of posters hangs out on the mumble server is not really the point here, is it?

It may not be your point, but it most certainly was that of the guy I quoted. He called a specific group of people into question, and all I said was that group of people don't have much involvement in this thread. Pretty basic.

I don't agree -at all- with Kapura's way of delivering messages. But I can't help but to share his feelings, minus the real talk.

At the same time, I find it great that DrKirby has the courage and dedication to take the time to create items for DotA2. But some of his recent entries have just been lackluster, uninspired, with a touch of laziness in my opinion. Well, I'm only really thinking of the Netherward when I say that.

I think he is capable for so much more than just taking existing models and adding a big triangle on top of it. I'm all for seeing and suggesting ideas for WIP stuff like his Omniknight's hammer. I want to encourage quality designs and ideas. And if I was in his place, I'd like people to do the same for me ; to not be afraid of to tell me what they really think of my designs so that over time I could improve.

So...yeah. The medium is the message, as they say.

This is a great. Whether I agree with him or not, it is a decent way to express what he feels that isn't insulting or demeaning to someone. And you can actually have a discussion about it. You know on a discussion board. The only thing you can get out of the first post there is either "lol no u" or "wow you're an asshole" as evidenced by the last page.

Tomat: that guy didn't just fail at PA- he failed at the game. He didn't push when he should have, didnt farm when he should have, and most importantly, he didn't engage when he should have. I've got no problem with kirbs posting his item updates (kappy's post was pretty bm), yet it seems he posts them for feedback, he gets a bunch of feedback (over a few days), then posts the same exact item with a dot on it lol. Like guesong said, a lot of those items are pretty plain and generic, it'd be great if one made it on the store, and that's what most of the critiques are intended to help achieve (aside from kappy's). The tin hat on rubick just isn't appealing at all, I'm sorry. Maybe go with something that fits the hero, some type of crazy steel electrified magic buffing helmet? Like that jinzo yugioh card you know? The omni hammer looks like a 2 year old squeeky toy hammer, and the pugna/alchemist items are BARELY noticable. Go for stuff that has more impact, change the old, boring wood to some type of shiny or magical steel. Instead of boring painted lines, go for glowing enchanted, runes? Come on dude, you got the skillz to model (something most of us can't even begin to do), put some time into some hero you really like with a passionate, cool, new, unique design. Maybe focus on one item(s) (armor set?) and go all out on it?

On a cold, abnormal thursday night; I brazenly and dishonorably stole mid from kappy huskar, and thereby stole his glory by carrying him . this in turn created that all too common dota roid rage that thereby spilled onto the forums. is it too late 2 pologize?

edit: i also feel the need to apologize to freakinchair, i am so sorry that i didn't dive a tier 2 tower with you at level 4, five minutes into the game. i should have gone and died with you like a man, but instead i farmed mid and played safe (ON SF OF ALL HEROES!!!) like a coward. that misplay almost lost us the game

People got banned for using bannable insults or being "overly aggressive", "Real Talk Discouraged" is a joke about those bans. Had nothing to do us posting to one another and interrupting your news thread with a gaming community. Sorry guys but we play the game on a regular basis, have fun doing so, and have fun talking about it. It's not going anywhere. This isn't a dev forum thread, we're going to talk about playing.

Furthermore, I have already refuted the idea that the majority of the posts in this thread come from mumble/hongaf, and those that are among the top posters rarely participate in what you would consider cluttering the thread. Those people that make the really stupid misspelling posts, it's literally two people and they don't do it often, think they're being ironic. It's not every page, it's not even every 10 pages, get over it.

And you guys getting all twisted up at one guy going nuts on kirby for posting pictures of his items and trying to say that a group of us call him a bad poster, really? Yeah, I have called him out before on certain things, like posting LoL patch notes in this thread or a huge wall of code, but I don't think anyone calls him a bad poster. When you want to measure contribution to a thread, it can only be related to what you want to get out of it. I, for example, get my news updates elsewhere, don't care about the workshop in the slightest, and have no interest in the dev side of it, so kirby's posts, or anyone else's, on those subjects contain no value to me. I'm only here for the community.

I was looking through my old emails at my work (Coop work so im only here 4 months a year) and I found that I registered this account about a year ago. I live in a Canadian desert so I haven't had much time to play because my computer room turns into a sauna. But Im thinking about playing some Dota 2.
