They took it down
*raises hand*Btw, who seriously isn't on Team Walt? When Walt's trying to pull off some crazy scheme or get himself out of a jam, who here isn't at least quietly hoping he succeeds?
During the dinner scene, I wished for the following to happen.
Jesse realizes he had to force Walt to accept the deal and says:
"Yo, Ms. White, what would you say if there's a way for your husband to make 5 million dollars in a day?"
I've been firmly on team Jesse since season 2 and especially after season 4 and what we've gotten from season 5, I want to see Walt crash and burn.Btw, who seriously isn't on Team Walt? I don't understand how anyone could root for Walt at this point. For the first four seasons of the show, he was a man doing what he believed he had to do at the time to provide for AND protect his family. Now that he's completely power-hungry, he has been dehumanized to the point that he is extremely unlikable. He doesn't care who he hurts, whether it's a child or even his own wife.
Jesse turned into a soft flaccid penis. He was gangsta in season 1.
YessssssWOO off my 1 month ban )=! Last nights episode was terrific.
Also, Glenn Howerton from it's Always Sunny is offering Aaron Paul a spot on his show. I'll try to find the tweet.
I don't get why anyone is "rooting" for anyone. I've been following from the beginning and at this point I just want it to be entertaining although I hope Jesse doesn't die, would be a travesty. Walt and Mike have it coming, they're definitely gonna die.
Well, I'll explain my point a bit better since about a dozen people replied and most seemed to misunderstand me.I don't get why anyone is "rooting" for anyone. Enjoying watching the drama and conflict that results from a character's exploits is not the same thing as rooting for him.Because he's the main character of the show?
It does if one wants to claim that the character is acting morally and therefore should be rooted for.The morality of the character has nothing to do with whether one should root for them or not,
That's all? Nothing else? So when you're watching them pull off the train heist, you're just a neutral observer with no preference either way? This. Walt is a fascinating character study, that's all.
You guys really think Walt is going to die?

I can't see it any other way

because it's fun? The fact that I've watched from the start makes it even more fun.I don't get why anyone is "rooting" for anyone. I thought about the fingerprints too, but then I realized there's no reason why the kid's fingerprints would be on file.
Regarding the prints on the tarantula jar, a lot of parents have their kid's fingerprints and DNA registered in case of child abduction/kidnapping.
That evidence will bite them in the ass.

Is that not the same thing? People just seem to be taking issue with the word "root", as if that means you're shouting "GO WALT!" at the TV while waving a Team Walt flag.I love Walt's character and I love when he gets away with shit sometimes, but I know that something bad is going to happen to him due to all the bad shit he's done, it's inevitable. That's why I really don't root for him myself, because things are not going to end well.
Why would police take the tarantula jar as evidence?
Also I've never heard about parents having their child's fingerprints or DNA registered, or at least, I haven't heard about most parents doing this.

Maybe the parent's mention the kid was riding to find a tarantula and Todd screws up somehow gets the attention of the cops, Hank spots the tarantula and gets curious...or some variation. Almost everything on this show is shown with a purpose.
Agreed. You articulated it much better than I have.I don't really want him to succeed or fail beforehand. I enjoy it when he gets out of insane situations, but that enjoyment is usually based around "this dude is pretty fucking intuitive".
Probably right. I should stop using that word, though I think you can "root" for someone in a particular situation.MormaPope said:I'd say rooting for him means you want Walt to succeed and end up winning at the end of each episode.

but that's basically the reason people root for Walt. As long as he is around, doing the things he does, shit is thrilling/exciting/genius/crazy.Agreed. You articulated it much better than I have.

Awesome stuff to watch. Hope nothing stops the crazy train.

Using the "Team" phrase was misleading. I actually think it's stupid (but funny). I didn't even know there was a Team Jesse. My point was that even though most of us agree that Walt deserves to go down, we all know that's at least several episodes away. Meanwhile when watching his schemes/exploits, I'm not wanting him to fail. I think it's cool when he works shit out and succeeds over the people who have the moral highground. I like when he outsmarts Hank, pulls him train heists, finds some clever way to get himself out of trouble, etc. If I was truly against him, I'd be disappointed when he succeeded. But that's never how I feel.
Sure he has. Outsmarted Hank (bugging the office), outsmarted Mike (escaping), outsmarted Jesse (continued manipulation to get what he wants). You could say he hasn't outsmarted Skyler, though, since she's gotten her way to some extent with the kids being sent away.Walt hasn't been outsmarting anyone this season, his head is too far up his ass, he's fighting a war on too many fronts. Jesse has been the "brains" this season.
Those are some huge stretches. I also doubt Todd would keep the tarantula in a jar the whole time, he'd probably buy a small aquarium like thingy for the tarantula.
And a lot of things in Breaking Bad are allegories, a lot of what's shown is up for interpretation.
