Dota 2 Beta Thread 2: Real Talk Discouraged [Magnus, Teams, 6.75b, 150+ Shop Items]

Not particularly... the matchup is pretty important. I guess you could make a Street Fighter-like tier list for matchups in mid, but it'd be like a 50x50 grid if you cut out all the heroes that don't belong in a mid solo. Actually I might do this now, it kinda sounds like fun.

For a basic list of top-tier mids though, mine would probably look something like:
1. Invoker
1. Tinker
1. Shadow Demon
1. Templar Assassin
2. Obsidian Destroyer
2. Leshrac
2. Bane
3. Windrunner
3. Axe
3. Rubick
3. Lone Druid

Going off the top of my head though so I'm probably missing a bunch.

And are you sure you mean Shadow Demon and not Shadow Fiend?

Oh yes. Shadow Demon is vicious in lane and beats most heroes flat-out. Shadow Fiend has a bunch of counters mid. The thing is that he's mostly played as a support now since he doesn't need items that badly, but I like to play him as a semi-carry and he is scaaaaaary.

Yeah, a mid Shadow Demon was really keeping me on my toes as Tinker yesterday. I was really aggressive about bottling runes and denying though, and it worked out in the end.
 
SD is quite powerful if you're patient. 2 stacks of poison, disrupt, poison, soul catcher, purge, poison, dead.

If the list is who would win the lane, but not necessarily take the best advantage of being mid, I think lich deserves a high spot. My hate for sacrifice is unending.
 
Anyone create items for the dota 2 store here? I would like to learn how to do this with Maya preferably. I have been reading about requirements and cost before I jump in. I read that only 32 bit versions of Maya support the importing/exporting of valve files but I'm not sure which version to buy. 2013 seems like the one to go for but on the valve dev wiki it says that it only works with Maya 2012 and earlier.

Nah poison is a waste of spell points, soul catcher/disrupt build is the way to go.

Only ones I thought of otherwise:

1-2. Queen of Pain
1-2. Batrider (fell out of favor)
2. Shadow Shaman
2-3. Weaver (not seen in mid outside of asia really)
 
I love being Death Prophet when the enemy team doesn't focus you down. Don't they realize her ult melts buildings? Hell the last game I hung around in their base after everyone else went back because I knew my ghosts would heal me, and they hadn't even damaged me yet, only everyone else on my team, took out the rax then picked off two heroes before running.

He can do fine, but he's really not a lane dominance character. He can be against specific characters; he has a decent chance against some of the characters with no escapes, but if you averaged out the matchup he would probably lose more than he wins. The problem for pudge is that even when he can kill his lane opponent, he can't actually harass them effectively.

I would add in viper, death prophet, sand king, brewmaster, and maybe lich in before adding pudge.
 
SO I updated to beta drivers for my GPU and defragged. The game still locks up. I did get boosts in my other games that have no issues though.

SO what gives?

I guess I must be in Mariana's Trench bracket then. It seems like 90% of the time I mid with him, I get first blood at level two and just start snowballing from there.

If you're winning majority of the time, your opponent is doing something wrong. Pudge can't harass, gets harassed easily, and has to hope enemy is out of position to win mid. And for that last one you have to hope your enemy is dumb enough to walk on over to a wide open area.

I don't think I've ever seen Batrider played in a game. Ever. Not once. I think he's the only hero in the entire current cast who that's true for.

Which is weird, because I gave him a try to see if he sucked or something and he was a blast

Batrider is the most fun hero.

But he is hard to play and relies on a good team to make him shine.

So he's not for pubs.

Yeah, when you play against people that don't understand what pudge can do, it's very easy to kill them. But, when you play against those that can harass properly and position themselves well, pudge loses many match ups and is very easily counterpicked. Even good players can slip up early, giving you a chance to get ahead, but the big trouble with pudge has been stated before: when you harass them you lose hp as well, leaving you trading health potions with them if you don't get the kill. So get those kills or get out of the lane, making both other lanes live in fear when you're in the fog is part of his job.

Disclaimer: You should at least have bottle, boots, and ultimate before you leave "for good", level 4 hook as well ideally.

Pando media booster from your league of legends install.

Did you verifying the game integrity? Check the console to see if there's any error messages from trying to load a file that isn't there.
 
There is, although you don't get to see the animation if you're not on invoker's team.

You being serious about pando media booster? If so I prob should uninstall it. I have done verify cache. Doesn't hurt to do it again.
