Avengers is the new hotness now, guys. The movie made ALL THE MONIES. They have sent Bendis and Way to destroy the X-Men, while Remender and Hickman have to build the Avengers with John Cassaday, Jerome Opena, Dustin Weaver, Adam Kubert, and Mike Deodato Jr. IDK who the fuck this X-Force guy is suppose to be, but he aint those guys.
There are some real gems in there, wow.
At a conceptual level then, Tonys New Guardians traces very much the same path as Linkin Parks second album Re:Animation, wherein the band edit and mix and tireless experiment with the original magic of their debut album, Hybrid Theory. Its that tirelessness that lies at the heart of the New 52, and that same tirelessness that flourishes on every page of New Guardians.
What marvel books do you guys think are essential right now? I'm looking for a couple good self contained marvel books to add to my list. Right now only Hawkeye and Iron Man are on my list. (iron man is more character loyalty than liking for quality)

I don't know how to feel about Diggle replacing Morrison.
It's like fucking groundhog's day for these bums at BC. This brah at DC acts like he knows shit, sayin he got connections to DC and shit. Then say what the fourth wave books are. You don't know. Geoff Johns is not leaving Aquaman. It's always the same with these guys, after something happens they say they knew it all along but couldn't say to protect some deep throated mouth breather. Stop ruining people's lives.
Just lookin' forward to Alpha tomorrow.

I know the book has its fair share of haters, but if you are at all curious about a Kirkman cape book with fantastic art and more often than not fun adventures with a decent amount of wonder that is severely lacking in DC/Marvel cape books, give it a shot. High recommendation.

Why do you read that creep?
Yeah, there is a kind of weird ass vibe in the early part of AvX with that theme. The fact that he more or less tried to force Hope to be Jean proves he's incapable of fully moving on from her, like, ever. He doesn't obsess over his daughter, who actually DOES use the Phoenix. Instead he told his son to take Hope to get aged up. I think he probably paid Cable to make her older than a teenager, but Cable, thoroughly creeped out by his dad's attempt at remaking the woman from whom his mother was cloned, and hoping to spare Hope from his own mom's fate, brought her back before she was the legal age.
Which is the REAL reason Scott broke down and decided to attack the Avengers and became so interested in founding his own nation . . . with it's own legal age.
How long is Waid's newest Rocketeer story?
Thanks for the recommendations guys. Going to see if I can grab the DD trades and will probably just jump on Amazing Spider-Man on the newest issue since an arc ended recently. Other than that I'll probably be waiting for the new books as most of the ones I'd be interested in are ending.![]()
incase you like oversized hardcovers, Daredevil is getting a reasonably priced one come November collecting the first two trades worth of content, all for an msrp of 34.99.
Waid DD?

Just saw this variant cover on CBR
:lol Really?
I feel the same way. Burned through 59 issues in a week. I have no idea how i could of handled waiting for it a new issue every month for 5 years
It's not like the original is anything that good. Yep I went there and said it, Alan Moore is constantly one of the most overrated comic book authors around,I've subconsciously blocked the "before watchmen" line to the point that I forget it until someone brings it up. Probably for the better.

...what the fuck? i dont care for the reboot(not a huge fan of watchmen either for that matter) but why choose that body shape? it seems like a fake piece.

Now on to brass tacks, when does Comixology update it servers?
Quick question out to you guys.
Would you guys say it's better to collect The Walking Dead series via the hardcovers or via the Omnibuseseses?
Which is easier to read and looks better etc?

Gillen's run started with 622, but a few of the singles are hard to get ahold of now. It's available in trades though - the first three volumes are in hardcover (with a paperback of the first coming in sept), but the Exiled crossover and v4+ are paperback because Marvel don't care about shelf consistencyJourney Into Mystery from like 619- 620 on thru the end of the current run which will be ..2 months i think.
I didn't find it all that amazing when I read it. I just feel the story concept would have occurred anyway along with the almost post modern take on Super Heroes (Garth Ennis would have still developed his work in the same way even without The Watchmen). I'm not saying it's bad just that it's not all its cracked up to be.I don't know man. There's a reason so many people see it as the best thing the medium ever produced.

The worst (and this isn't Moores fault in anyway just like it isn't Frank Miller's) is how it led to the whole oh I'm not reading a comic, it's a graphic novel elitism that started to spring up by people embarrassed to admit they read comics.
I also can't stand the whole Moore isn't doing this therefore it's "evil." I mean someone else writing with someone's character and setup is so common in the comic industry and all creative industries. Makes me wonder what the reaction will be if the Nolan Batman series continues.
Why?this gonna make a lot of people mad.
Why?
Why?
