The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

I sure am glad we won't be getting a Darksiders II or Transformers quick look any time soon. I'm just going to watch the Blood Knights QLEX on repeat because that is some quality-ass content.

Yeah, I thought the "We already have QLs of these games" excuse was pretty lame. Would have like to see them talk about the games without the developers being there.

$20 =/

Is that the new $15 which was the new $10?

I didn't really mind paying $20 for it, but only because I love JoJo's. For people who are interested in the game, I think $20 is better than paying upwards of $30 for used copies of the Dreamcast/PlayStation ports.

It's Capcom.
Sega does a collection using filters but includes tons of extra content, adds online, and a cool menu for it, and it's 3 games =15$
sega does a HD ACTUAL remake of Jet Set Radio, and they fix the controls = $15
Capcom applies some arcade filters, no remaking whatsoever, adds online = $20
It makes this deal seem especially lame when you consider that the Marvel collection comes out soon for 15, and it's the same thing but with two games instead of 1

Capcom treats their fighting game fanbase horribly, and their fighting game fanbase lets them do it, so they continue to promote anticonsumer ways.

Jet Set Radio is $10!

But yeah, you're completely right. I've never played Jojo and always had a fleeting interest in trying it out but $20 is too fucking much, especially when it's barebones and their other games this gen have been cheaper.

Is there a reason for Japanese developers using noms de plume? Was everyone just doing it because they thought their nickname was way cooler than their real name, or is there some cultural or other reason for it?

They wanted to keep who was making the games a secret because the publishers were scared of the developers being hired away.

LOL, I think Blood Knights looks fun for a downloadable title. Call me crazy, but budgety games like this are a guilty pleasure of mine. I am not expecting anything amazing from it, so will be able to overlook the warts and awful production value.

I want a CS:GO QL!!

I know they will probably use the Xbox version but since they already did the herculean task of plugging in the ps3 for the JoJo QL maybe they will go crazy and play Counter Strike using Move.

I mean console counter strike is already silly enough that they might as well just play it in the least counter strike'y way possible.

I'd rather play CS:GO with the Move than the DS3, assuming the Move controls are as well done as they were in KZ3.

PLEASE HELP US FROM HURTING OURSELVES!!

You are conveniently forgetting games like Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition and the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom Origins.

wheres the CS:GO and Orcs Must Die QLs?

I only see Jojos Bizarre QL and the TNT coming up, but I guess if Vinny isn't playing it's impossible for them to QL a PC game :/

If I told you the PC and studio have been completely dismantled for two days while facilities pulled all the cubicles out of there, and that we recorded CS:GO earlier today once it was all done, would you feel at least a little bit shitty about the snark? It's dismaying how rarely you guys give us the benefit of the doubt that there are things going on behind the scenes, instead of just assuming we're being lazy or neglectful.

I believe in all of you

Except you, microphone destroyer.

c'mon Brad, if there were 11 comments, you ignore the 10 compliments and focus on one complaint. lol

I don't think this is how you go about making anyone feel shitty about the snark.

He responded about wanting to play Sleeping Dogs and upgrading his video card on the bombcast thread. I got your back, ruds. For now.

The praise is sometimes more disturbing than the criticism.

There's just something amazing about the sound of Valve's guns.

I only ever played CS a little back in the day, but I'm pretty tempted to pick it up after that QL.

it plays more like 1.6 to me. i never liked CS Source. but i do have to say that finding a server without lag has been an issue for me. ping has been high. i think maybe it's because of the surge in players.

Yeah, I mean, I started playing CS before 1.6, but I gave up after a couple of years of being deep in it. I never played Source though, so I wasn't sure.

But if people are that serious about the feel of the game, I guess the reality is that all this will do is create three distinct CS audiences. Maybe CS needs an Evo-like event to force people to move to the new game if they want to be serious about competing on the e-sports side.
