minus the 1 good play i had, i was a nonfactor. However it was one of the most fun games ever

Ok I´ll change my questiion, how do you improve your GPM? do you jungle every time u can?

Last hits on tower, carry tp scrolls to switch lanes, work on last hitting creeps in lane, get good farming items for your hero (battlefury for some hard carries like antimage/faceless void, maelstrom for some other heroes), stack camps (pull a creep camp at the :52 second mark out of the camp and keep running until they stop attacking you, the camp should have another pack of mobs in there, this can be done up to 3-4 times), get last hits on kills. Once you have sufficient levels and the lanes are pushed, do ancients. Some heroes can stack ancients and farm them fast like Luna or Dragon Knight. Figure out which camps are easier to clear than others (In general you should avoid the hard camps with ursa/centaur/troll priest until later, the four satyrs are the easiest to kill early on besides the easy camp). Buy a quelling blade to assist with jungling last hitting on melee heroes. If you and your team is doing extremely well, or for jungling on some heroes, it is beneficial to pick up an early midas (before 7 minutes is ideal). For midas you want to always use it on the largest creep you can for the extra exp until level 16, at that point use it on whatever you want.

Also you can do something called freezing the lane, which is just denying your creeps as soon as they reach 40% health and killing the other ones as soon as they get low as possible. The goal is for the lane to stay in the same spot, but you may need to kill ranged minions once in awhile so they don't push into your towers.

If you're a support the best thing you can do is just stack creeps and pull them into the lane, even after laning phase is over. Some support heroes are fortunate like Witch Doctor in that their spells can be used to jungle decently as well.

My best advice is just to not be idle, make sure where you're farming is safe by putting wards around the area you're farming, and to always look for opportunities to town portal into a place and help with a gank.

Beyond that, read specific hero guides and watch pro games to see what they do. A great reasonable GPM to aim for (assuming you win) is 500 as a carry, 600+ is golden, 700 and above is some serious dominating.

edit: For the TL;DR version, you shouldn't bother jungling early unless you're Enchantress/Chen/Lycan/Prophet/Dark Seer. Other heroes can jungle but they are superior in lane. Jungling is a secondary gold source to lane/tower pushing.

Laneing is always better then jungling for farm unless you're playing a BF AM (in which case you can farm both anyways) as it gives more exp and gold per minute. Keeping creep equilibrium is the most important part though, but last hitting in and of itself is the most important part.

If you're honestly interested in getting huge gpm, DK, Luna, AM, Void, SF, Gyro, Lycan, PA, Furion are all good heroes for it.

I know they originally wanted to wait until all the heroes were in before they launched, but almost all the competitive heroes have already been put in, and a few of the ones that aren't in are being reworked.

Terrorblade, Phoenix, Pitlord are being remade. I've heard rumors of techies being remade, nothing confirmed.

I don't believe Legion Commander, Goblin Shredder, Firepanda or Dragonhawk bro are in cm yet, so they get put on the backburner.

Magnataur, Medusa, Slark, Meepo are probably very close to being finished. Meepo is a shoe-in after TI2 in my opinion.

The other heroes remaining aren't really picked competitively, or so I've read.

edit: Oh wow, wrote this post before the pictures were uploaded. Techies and Skywrath look awesome.
Tauren Chieftain is used in competitive. Which is why his exclusion is weird.

I asked the following question this morning but got no response. Is there a good rule of thumb on when to start farming in your jungle for non jungling heroes? My problem with farming in the jungle early on is that I farm it way too early after lanes break down and just end up losing a ton of health forcing me to port back to base or get to it way too late because I'm hesitant of the latter happening to me..

Gotta have good hp regen/lifesteal/innate jungle abilities. Usually when you get your HoTD, tranquil, Bfury, or w/e else to let you tank the jungle creeps, the jungle becomes tankable. However, usually you want some dmg too (and some cleave/aoe dmg) to make it as effective as lane farming.

You just have to love random teammates who do their darndest to swallow all the lane's farm, seemingly oblivious to the fact that you're a Tinker who could really, really, use that Soul Ring and Boots of Travel. What adds insult to injury is that instead of heeding the call to join the team on a push against the enemy team's barracks, they promptly sit on their precious farm and go chasing for more on our side of the river, ensuring that all the gold they've smashed and grabbed from under my nose and poured into expensive item after expensive item (whilst I was struggling just to complete a set of core items) is utterly and thoroughly wasted.

Who does a 'Publican hurt? Everyone.

This sounds like a campaign slogan.

Pretty sure I stole borrowed it from some tv ad campaign or another. Filled with immense regret that I failed to tag the post with #fuckyougotmine, could have hit a sweet spot for cliche.

Oh, and the highlight video for The Defense II was released: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9omEn3jpnk&feature=g-all-u

As can perhaps be guessed, it's not as teeming with excellence and jaw-dropping moments as the first one was. The folk wisdom that the second competition didn't quite live up to the first rings true, methinks.

Really looking forward to the International but doubt I'll be able to watch many games live due to the timezone.
Also I wonder if there is going to be a pennant/item awarded everytime Tobi (or whoever is casting) misses Firstblood

This is Providence! I'm betting all my money on Mouz to win it!

Edit: Also, this will go down in the history of esports as the dumbest fucking thing anyone has ever done. FFS they were already over Canada.

YES! I bought a Mouz pennant to just support them but now I can get loot from International games too. They were super disappointed when they couldn't beat mTw at qualifiers so I'm happy for them now.

Meepo

N9-GoDz
Played Meepo today with Purge, DPM, Chairraider, and some Valvies!
Can confirm his awesomeness :p

That picture is from dpm as well

These pics from sing's twitter are amazing.

Also, Merlini posted this about Sayuri:

http://nadota.com/showthread.php?10831-Sayuri-Biggest-bitch-in-esports

The thread title is not by him and the guy posting it is not him, but what's in the OP is written by him (he confirms it on page 6), it was actually written to his team members.

So judging by the pennant description, you'll keep them and they'll carry on to future tournaments?

Might just buy a Mouz pennant since I won't be able to watch any games anyway, being in Australia.

I've been having problems with loading for the past couple of weeks I'm not sure which patch caused it but essentially when the game loads the map and after the grey loading box fades out I stay at the loading splash screen for an additional 3 mins if I start clicking about or minimise the game will crash without fail. I've defragged my hard drive and verify the game's files. I usually load a live game before searching just to make sure the map is loaded so as to not crash while in the queue and I always end up in games with 88mins played and it isn't the live game I clicked on but something else it also always sends me to the end game screen with the ancient destroyed like the picture below. Is this a known issue?

Today I've tried Witch Doctor for the first time and, although I like it, I have the impression that only the stun and ult are worth it. Okay can be usefull and all, but it's not very good either. As for the curse... range and area are really small and damage isn't that great either. Am I missing anything?

Heal is good if you can keep up the mana.

As for the curse, you want to open up with stun, curse someone who's stunned, then ult right next to them. Should die easily.

Maledict is much more powerful then it seems. The heal is what I usually max out last, since early in the game it just eats too much mana but by level 15 or so you can usually leave it up for ten+ seconds and still have enough mana left for a curse and a couple of stuns

Ok I´ll change my questiion, how do you improve your GPM? do you jungle every time u can?

first step is to get really good at last hitting. that's the really basic starting stone to high GPM, you need to get every last hit you possibly can in laning phase so you can quickly nab your core items that allow you to double/triple your gpm.

What time does the prelims start? 9 am Pdt right?

Will the prelims will be available to watch in-game? Cause my iG pennant is burning a hole in my backpack.
