People getting bogged down in the morality argument are missing the point. Mike was a likable character. In fiction, the number of murders or other immoral acts committed by a character generally has no bearing whatsoever on their likability. Sam Jackson in Pulp Fiction? Solid Snake? Cold-blooded killers who come off as damn likable to the audience are nothing new. This is a crime drama; pull your head out of your ass and take it for what it is.

By the way, my girl and both my sisters hate Skyler as well. What a bunch of misogynists!

The premiere pretty much alludes to this happening among other things. At this point he is in the mindset that he can't be broken, but I think when the cancer returns, a domino effect will occur. Cancer returns, Someone in his family is hurt/killed, ect

Also people mourning Mike's character as if he was a martyr, a national hero .. jeez. The character was great but he was anything but good. As the show kept progressing, Mike kept making a lot of mistakes .. I never saw Mike surviving when they first showed him having a grand daughter etc. It all had a payoff in this episode, especially the sequence at the park. Most emotional one for me, more than final shot.

The people that think skylar was a villian are insane misogynists.

Fucking no. I hate her character because it's the most shittiest on the show, love every other female character (even Lydia) as they all move the story forward. Anything Skylar related is like nails on the blackboard, well except the awkward moments with Jesse.

Walt has already made peace with the fact that one day, sooner or later, the cancer will return.

Right now his only "goal" is to see just how big/far he can go as Heisenberg before that happens. He has no endgame or destination. The cancer returning will force Walt to define one. Be it attempting to make amends with the people he hurt, turning himself in and paying for his crimes, escaping to die peacefully or, ensuring that the name Heisenberg echos through the ages by going out in the biggest blaze of glory the Southwest has ever seen. Whatever ultimately happens, staring inevitable demise in the face is what got Walter White on this path and it will be the thing that get's him off it.

I think at this point Walt only cares about Jesse in context of his legacy--what's the point of Empire building if you don't have somebody to carry on your works after you're gone? He needs Jesse to keep the Heisenberg formula on top after death. If Todd's good, I can see him getting over Jesse quickly.

Letting Jane die to gain control of Jesse was low, also pushing Jesse to kill Gale, and planting a bomb in an old people home is just bad. It shows he doesn't give two shits about any bystanders and whatnot. Just because he hasn't killed a completely innocent person doesn't mean he wouldn't, he would've killed Gale if he could, but he couldn't.. Gale would still be alive if not for Walt, Jesse pulled the trigger, but that wouldn't have happened if not for Walt. Poisoning a kid shows how far Walt will go, and killing Mike shows far he's come as a piece of shit.

Jane was definitely the turning point for Walt as a character, although I guess a lot of people just see her as a junkie so that's probably why so many people still back Walt this far in. >.>

About Jane what could he do to save her it was her choice & if he would call 911 it would have been too late anyway. Plus when she passed & he finally called Jessie & Walt had to do major cleaning first. He merely didn't want Jessie to do time. On top of that they were extorting Walt anyway. Perhaps he could have maybe rolled her onto her stomach as to not choke on the vomit, that's still not a guarantee that, that would have helped Jane any either she overdosed which could have caused organs to fail. Jessie murked Gale to save his & Walt's tails

It's too bad Mike never took his own advice this season and took a full measure; episode after episode was filled with half-measures from him, and it looks like it finally caught up to him.

I'd rather them increase Season 5.5 by 2-3 episodes(or a single 2 hour episode) instead of delaying ending the story for a film that might never actually make into production.

Wait, has there been talk of a Breaking Bad film, or is this just random speculation with no basis? I haven't been following production.
