i cant stand jesse now. How many people has he killed and how many lives ruined by his meth? One little kid and now hes all like "oh nooo sooo wrong i quit." And just cause hes got a thing for kids, it somehow makes him a better person? Fuck him, i wish walter kills him soon.

Your opinion is the exact opposite to mine.

I want anyone to kill Walt, and Jesse's behaviour in the past couple of seasons have made me do a complete u-turn on his character (who I initially despised).

No way. 9 episodes is overkill for the amount of stuff they've got to clear up, which is basically the Hank, Jesse, Skylar and kids triangle. I'm pretty sure you could dedicate an episode to each one and it'd be enough.

The show needs to conclude, and I'm glad it's doing it in the next 9 episodes. The characters are done for, they've run out of juice, and they're ready to die out (not literally). That's not a criticism, if anything it's a compliment, but they've just run their course and finished their journey.

Walt's batshit insane.

Skylar's done with any sort of relationship.

Jesse has finished making Meth.

Hank has climbed to the top of his profession.

All we need are revelations, reactions and my overall guess at the conclusion:

Walt committing suicide.

My thing is, The build up. This entire series has been all about building up the shitstorm until it reaches a fever pitch and BOOM, release it too the world. It might be possible but I don't see them giving the fallout with DEA, Jesse, other dealers...I just don't see it being a big boom.

The hell? Walt still wants to work in the business where no doubt more will be killed. Jesse doesn't think he is taking the high road, he just wants to be done.

Jesse is not a killer and always felt bad when people who didn't deserve it died. Like Gale. He went through a mental breakdown after he shot him.

It's the build up that takes time, and it's the build up that ultimately makes the 'boom' satisfying. I'll run with your analogy, because it works, and I believe this show's completely expended it's allotted build up, meaning all character development has basically come to a halt. Now it's time for the boom. It's time for the payload. It's time for the scene where Hank learns about Walt (which whenever it's revealed will come down to mere minutes of television), where Skylar grabs the kids and fucks off, where Jesse either confronts Walt one final time or just leaves altogether.

The show's run it's course, I don't think I could hold my attention for another 13 episodes beyond this coming 9, because outside of a major revision, the show's ready to end.

Walt's crazy. Completely mad. He isn't the character he was at the beginning, and it's time for it all to catch up to him.

Walt: "You might want to hold off."

Mike (cocks gun) "Yeah, why's that?"

Walt: "Cuz your boss is gonna need me."

*several months later*

Mike: "Shut the **** up Walter."

Man, it's amazing how opposite your view of Walt is from mine on this. To me he's always been heisenberg and his 'bumbling/pathetic' side is a mask for much deeper problems with his psyche. He's always been a liar and able to rationalize the most heinous things. It took getting cancer to drive him to do what he really wanted, but I have no doubt he's exactly where he wants to be and he's comfortable with everything he's ever done.

I think we're mostly in agreement, since I don't think the two concepts are necessarily mutually exclusive. Walt has always been narcissistic and that has largely led to all of his problems, but I think Heisenberg is a way for him to act more ballsy than he truly is - to essentially put on a show in an effort to convince others and in some sense himself.

Walt is both a bumbling fool and a dark individual with deep-seated issues all in one, and his Heisenberg is a goofy way for him to try to make the latter overcome the former and maintain some sense of control over his situation. I totally agree he's exactly where he wants to be and that he doesn't regret anything, but I think Heisenberg is an exaggerated and idealized crime movie-version of Walt; it's what he truly wishes he was but is too bumbling to pull off properly in most senses. Walt is ultimately a coward who doesn't want to face any of the dire problems he's created and rationalizes everything away with a magic wand.

It might all come together..hopefully these next 9 episodes do justice

Should have taken his own "No Half Measures" Advice. He was better off killing the 9 guys instead of keeping them alive through this all...but I understand why he did it...he had a heart for it

Thats the problem tho, in that line of work you can't really have a heart.

I've got a feeling that this part of the season will end in a huge reveal of who was behind Gus that makes him so untouchable. I had a theory that it might be the CIA, who got him out of his home country for some reason.

I see Skyler dying as a result of Walt's actions (probably something involving Declan and the methylamine in the car wash) and Walt skipping town just before he's busted. Hank and Marie will be left with the kids and they'll have to wrestle with how to explain the situation to Walt Jr.

Mike :(

The wait for the final episodes is going to be killer. I hope Jesse takes out Walt. But I guess I'd be happy with anything if it's as well done as the show has been thus far. Just as long as we don't get a cop-out ending where Walt wakes up from his collapsing in the 1st episode and this never really happened. :P

'What Todd did... you and I have done things that are just as bad.'

This scene was really powerful. Everything Walt says regarding his feelings about what happened to the kid is a LIE.

I dunno if he was lying or not anymore. I couldn't tell in that scene if walt was being honest or not. He is too far gone.

Final scene of the series is Walt staring at a mustard stain.

Nah, he wasn't telling the truth. He was just trying to make sure Jesse sticked with him.

He said no one would be killed anymore. There's your proof. :P

Damn, it was incredible to see Mike actually rattled and his voice cracking after the DEA was all over him. Great episode.

Not the most surprising development in the world - and he really had his guard down around Walt of all people? - but I still wanted to throw my TV out the window.

I've been wondering about the flash-forward scene. Walt has hair and he's coughing a lot again, so it seems like the cancer is back but he just doesn't have access to chemotherapy. It's curious that he would be taking prescription pills, though. Perhaps he's ready to die, but he just needs some pain medication to tide him over long enough to carry out his final task.

Honestly i think both maharg and Zeilard are pretty much right even though their opinions differ. If that makes any sense lol

Our opinions don't differ much at all, though. If it came across as me defending Walt in any way, then I didn't express myself clearly, and I've always said in these threads that he's a shitty person. I've been banging on that drum for a long ass time.

And I'm not saying he doesn't have any of the characteristics of Heisenberg. That isn't the point I was making. I'm saying that the Heisenberg we do see is an idealized version of Walt. Walt is ultimately too incompetent to really pull it off consistently. The guy keeps screwing up at every turn and it's all clearly going to end badly for him.

Was this the episode that was directed by the same person that directed Crawl Space?

Walt was wearing the same clothes from that episode.

jesse will be forced back into cooking since walt has a shopping list of people to kill and they have to supply meth. the possibility of jesse and todd working together is interesting... could be how jesse dies.

That final scene is really odd still because it can be happening mid next season. So many little details too that has me worried. He looks out of it so he gets beaten. Which can explain giving up on cancer. Jesse's watch is no longer on his arm that can mean a bunch of shit. Plus he grabs a machine gun so shit will go down.

The only fitting way for this show to end is Walt going down hard.

No. I want Walt to be pissed off alone everyone around him hates him. Fuck it just make him eat breakfast for the rest of his life for Walt Jr.

God, I think watching the behind the scenes video of Jonathon Banks last day on set was somehow even more emotional than watching Mike die.
