I want anyone to kill Walt, and Jesse's behaviour in the past couple of seasons have made me do a complete u-turn on his character (who I initially despised).

No way. 9 episodes is overkill for the amount of stuff they've got to clear up, which is basically the Hank, Jesse, Skylar and kids triangle. I'm pretty sure you could dedicate an episode to each one and it'd be enough.

The show needs to conclude, and I'm glad it's doing it in the next 9 episodes. The characters are done for, they've run out of juice, and they're ready to die out (not literally). That's not a criticism, if anything it's a compliment, but they've just run their course and finished their journey.

Walt's batshit insane.

Skylar's done with any sort of relationship.

Jesse has finished making Meth.

Hank has climbed to the top of his profession.

All we need are revelations, reactions and my overall guess at the conclusion:

My thing is, The build up. This entire series has been all about building up the shitstorm until it reaches a fever pitch and BOOM, release it too the world. It might be possible but I don't see them giving the fallout with DEA, Jesse, other dealers...I just don't see it being a big boom.

Jesse is not a killer and always felt bad when people who didn't deserve it died. Like Gale. He went through a mental breakdown after he shot him.

It's the build up that takes time, and it's the build up that ultimately makes the 'boom' satisfying. I'll run with your analogy, because it works, and I believe this show's completely expended it's allotted build up, meaning all character development has basically come to a halt. Now it's time for the boom. It's time for the payload. It's time for the scene where Hank learns about Walt (which whenever it's revealed will come down to mere minutes of television), where Skylar grabs the kids and fucks off, where Jesse either confronts Walt one final time or just leaves altogether.

The show's run it's course, I don't think I could hold my attention for another 13 episodes beyond this coming 9, because outside of a major revision, the show's ready to end.

Walt's crazy. Completely mad. He isn't the character he was at the beginning, and it's time for it all to catch up to him.

Man, it's amazing how opposite your view of Walt is from mine on this. To me he's always been heisenberg and his 'bumbling/pathetic' side is a mask for much deeper problems with his psyche. He's always been a liar and able to rationalize the most heinous things. It took getting cancer to drive him to do what he really wanted, but I have no doubt he's exactly where he wants to be and he's comfortable with everything he's ever done.

I think we're mostly in agreement, since I don't think the two concepts are necessarily mutually exclusive. Walt has always been narcissistic and that has largely led to all of his problems, but I think Heisenberg is a way for him to act more ballsy than he truly is - to essentially put on a show in an effort to convince others and in some sense himself.

Walt is both a bumbling fool and a dark individual with deep-seated issues all in one, and his Heisenberg is a goofy way for him to try to make the latter overcome the former and maintain some sense of control over his situation. I totally agree he's exactly where he wants to be and that he doesn't regret anything, but I think Heisenberg is an exaggerated and idealized crime movie-version of Walt; it's what he truly wishes he was but is too bumbling to pull off properly in most senses. Walt is ultimately a coward who doesn't want to face any of the dire problems he's created and rationalizes everything away with a magic wand.

Our opinions don't differ much at all, though. If it came across as me defending Walt in any way, then I didn't express myself clearly, and I've always said in these threads that he's a shitty person. I've been banging on that drum for a long ass time.

And I'm not saying he doesn't have any of the characteristics of Heisenberg. That isn't the point I was making. I'm saying that the Heisenberg we do see is an idealized version of Walt. Walt is ultimately too incompetent to really pull it off consistently. The guy keeps screwing up at every turn and it's all clearly going to end badly for him.

jesse will be forced back into cooking since walt has a shopping list of people to kill and they have to supply meth. the possibility of jesse and todd working together is interesting... could be how jesse dies.

That final scene is really odd still because it can be happening mid next season. So many little details too that has me worried. He looks out of it so he gets beaten. Which can explain giving up on cancer. Jesse's watch is no longer on his arm that can mean a bunch of shit. Plus he grabs a machine gun so shit will go down.
