Strauss retired from all forms of the game? What a shame and what a captain. Fuck you KP, if you pushed him over the edge.

So United signed Berba for over £30M and then sold him for less than £5M if its true about €5m fee.

And United fans can never mention Robinho again lol.

Absolute class act. England will miss his captaincy I think.

You spend too much time worrying about what United fans can and can't say dc02.

, change your avatar back to the cat :( I really hate your current one and I love Aguero, makes no sense!

Berba was top scorer when we won the league.

He did his part.

And then United treated him poorly the next. It was brutal how little chance he got last season.

My lasting memory of Berbatov will always be those two open goals he missed in the FA Cup semi. Basically handed us the trophy then, with a little help from Scholes. Cheers for that.

So Berbagone for £5m.

How much did United sign him for?

30m and he practically won us a title.

Hey, how much was Roque Santa Cruz? And Adebayor? And Wayne Bridge?

Goodbye Berba, thanks for everything <3 rooting for Fiorentina now (which would be better if Prandelli was there)

Well, Berbatov finally leaves. It's a relief for all parties I think. United was never right for him, I was very sceptical of the signing when it happened and it turned out that way. A great player no doubt but just not right for us and Fergie got it wrong - I'm not quite sure what he hoped would happen but to me it was clear he would never form a strong partnership with any of our forwards and that the way we played did not suit him.

He was magnificent in the 10/11 season though so we owe him that, he was crucial in title number #19.

I can't say I'll really miss him though. He had a magic touch but his moments of magic were few and far in between. Here are some of them, the touch on this man is truly out of this world.

Hope he does well in Italy, I think he will.

Dimitar Berbatov - A touch of class

I see a medical staff taking their time as evidence of competence, not the reverse.

Numpties on a podcast tossing out a "questions need to be asked" - well, you'd call it lazy and irresponsible, but that rather goes without saying.

Well there are several instances where United's conditioning/fitness staff have produced worrisome results. Hargreaves, for instance. The aforementioned Two Fat Ladies. The ongoing issues with Smalling ans a dew others...How is it irresponsible to question this?

Anderson has pretty much always been fat. Rooney has always been an endomorph. So ?

So you're admitting the fitness stuff have been worthless in helping these two into shape? Rooney and Andesron may become bloaters once their careers are over, but while they play for United surely the buck stops with the fitness staff whose job it is to prepare the players for battle?

I think there's plenty of evidence to warrant questioning.

Robinho was very important marketing wise for City and the new owners, he also opened up for more good players coming. City also got £15m when they sold him, so he wasn't that terrible.

If anything, I would have thought that Tiote would be Chelsea's primary target for that position. He'd be a perfect replacement for Essien and they would probably be willing to pay out 20m for Tiote.

Sterling looks x3 the player Walcott is. Not sure why Liverpool would be interested in him to be honest. Not sure why Man City are either. Theo arguably has seen the only development of his Arsenal tenure last season, and even then he was often unproductive - for a winger, he doesn't know how to beat his man and rarely doesn't even attempt it; he simply passes back to the RB. He is/was incredibly fortunate to have found a manager to believe in him so much to be afforded so many games/starts at a top 4 club. He isn't an ideal player for a team that comes up against opponents defending deep.

Also worth mentioning Wenger's contract expires in 2014. I do not expect him to renew it.

You really can't blame Uniteds medical/Fitness team for Rooney and Andersons lack of fitness. They can lay out fitness plans and diets for the players but its up to the individuals to adhere to it.

Then you've got to criticise Fergie for playing them unfit... Right?

And if they're wilfully ignoring the fitness regime, you've got problems.

Yep. City had more or less no major injuries last season and everyone seemed very fit, yet Tevez returned after last summer (2011) looking overweight. He fixed that this summer though.

Basically this.

When Rooney goes on holiday, we have no control over what he does. He puts on weight very easily and it's up to him to take care of himself over the summer. The club can't do too much about it. We can try to discipline him, sure, but at the end of the day he needs to take care of himself better.

I don't know what the injuries are exactly but the medical staff can't really stop players picking up injuries, especially in young players where injury is common as the physique of players changes quite radically. Rafael in particular has had this problem. It's when players keep getting similar injuries or come back from injury and then are out soon again when maybe the medical staff needs to rethink it's strategy.

I have no idea if the medical team needs to change something tbh. I doubt they're central to the problem though.

Up until this season, Rooney was undroppable. He's the main goalscorer for United and the team was built around him. He couldn't be dropped as he's our best player. You can't criticize Fergie for picking him.

Anderson isn't a regular starter either.

If we don't have the medical expertise or information to formulate the questions we would ask, we have little to no business bleating about there being a need to pose questions.

And nor do gits filling in time on a podcast.

And it's outright fucking daft (on a level only one banned futbol-gaffer has achieved in the past) to just throw out names of crocked players and say, well, United's medical staff have some explaining to do.
