Remember, Marotta signs players Conte wants. If Conte doesn't think Berbatov was too lazy to deal with the paces of playing at Juventus then we wouldn't sign him. And, in any case, we have a team full of workhorse midfielders and defenders. We don't need everyone to defend at all times. I'm sure Berbatov can press if we need him to press.

Are you so sure this still applies in the last week of August, after we've seemingly lost all our primary and secondary mercato targets? 'Cause I'm not. La fretta e' cattiva consigliera, my friends. And I think people are unconsciously choosing to forget the HUGE problems we had with scoring last season, as soon as our form went down. The dangers of it happening again are even higher this year, given that we'll be dividing our energies between the campionato and CL.

Edit: I'm just not sure Jovetic is the saviour you think he is, Zab. He's great, to be sure, but €30m is a lot of fucking money no matter how you slice it. And, in any case, who do we force out? Giovinco or Vucinic? Three players in one role doesn't make sense.

He isn't that great. And he's extremely injury prone, no?

Fine, whatever. We'll see who was right in couple of years, I guess. :) Injury prone? Well, I wouldn't be so sure about that. He had a major knee injury and suffered from some minor setbacks last season after a year-long inactivity, but it's not like he's made of glass like Pato.

Is that him third from the right?

Yep, there he is

I like how they all sing in Manc accents...

That video is probably the most cringe worthy, to be honest.

It's worse when you recognise the deserted CBD.

Sugar daddy club+awful theme pub+celebratory bus ride howling at indifferent pedestrians.

It all adds up to something very very small.

25-36m for Llorente and co. (and their ridiculous salaries) is a gamble, 30m for Jovetic is an investment. And it's not like he's a promising player, he's tearing Serie A apart.

And he did well in the CL with Fiorentina.

He was a fucking bomb in the CL 09/10.

Fair enough, I guess journos got it wrong, surprising? not really. lol.

who knows, i think there's still a rule that you cant talk to player 6months before the end of his contract (at least there is in Germany) but that shit gets broken all the time.

but yeah the media did a pretty bad job on this one. lot's of speculation and almost no 'real news.' i just want this saga to end.

I hope Javi will do well at Bayern and that Bilbao will invest the money wisely (and doesnt get relegated this season).

And he did well in the CL with Fiorentina.

Well? He basically dragged the Viola to CL quarter-finals by himself. I mean, he would have, if UEFA had sent actual referees to the two matches with Bayern instead of muppets. No offense, elsk, you know I love you. :*

A registered PL agent, apparently.

He was right about the RVP and Buttner deals.

No idea if he's actually itk or just guessing well.

Damnit, Clegg. You've got me muppetin' again. All the talk is Dembele, but Cabaye or Moutinho or M'Vila would be the (sorta-realistic) dream - better alternatives to Carrick and likely in the 15m to 25m range. Cherry on the top of a good summer. But the only way I see it happening is if Fergie's really had it with Nani or Fletcher does a surprise retirement. If it's the former, then we're set to rely on Rooney and Welbeck as wing-forwards for the rest of the season, as much as AV7 and Young out wide. (Assuming Shinji stays behind the striker.)

There is only one interesting player for us out there and that's Beñat from Betis, although I doubt it will happen. I don't think we will have troubles staying in La Liga but this coming to an end will be beneficial hopefully for things to calm down and go back to normal.
Also a win sunday is a must

He (and Bayern) payed the 40M of the release clause to the LFP. His contract is "gone", so right now he's a free agent :P

Wow. Interesting turn of events - didn't believe Bayern wanted him as much as going down this route. Talented coup nevertheless.

That video was even sadder than his TL.

Can I just re-iterate, possibly for everyone, that I don't give a shit anymore and that I just want this whole transfer campaign to end?

That was Marotta's strategy all along! Now we're all okay with not-Bendtner.

Cabaye and Tiote are going nowhere. Would Man Utd really fork out 15+m on another player?

Though Cabaye and Kagawa in the centre of midfield for Man Utd would make even me cum.

I definitely think he'd be going for a player to start or cycle through for league and Europe games. Not a youngster or a filler-in for domestic cup games.

Goddard seems like the most legit source we've had in a while.
