have fun...

soooo, i had a second date-thing with the guy i met for lunch last week (the needy guy who really wanted to meet asap).

it definitely went worse than the first one. our interests collided on absolutely everything, and he talked the majority of the date. i can't handle someone like that. and once again, i didn't get any action, so i'm wondering how this even started as a hookup lol. he spent sooo long talking about the choices of celebrity judges for this season's american idol, x-factor, etc. i had told him i didn't watch reality tv so it was pretty obvious i wasn't interested, but i guess he didn't see that.

i'm regretting saying that i would go to a pride event this saturday at a club. i agreed to this before we met, because i thought it would be fun and didn't really know him yet. well, actually, i didn't really say i was for sure going...i said it would be fun and i'm interested. however, this doesn't matter now, since at the end of this second date, he said he had already bought tickets...OOOOOOK.

he hasn't talked to me much since the date though (it was on Sunday), so maybe he lost interest like i did. he's definitely an interesting character. he has seen gaga 6 times and intends on seeing her 10 more times on her upcoming tour lol. he must have a lot of extra money. he was telling me how he has all of this expensive signed/framed memorabilia of cher, kylie minogue, etc on his walls. i'm all for someone having passion for stuff, so i'm not hating. i just was kind of surprised haha. it was like going on a date with the complete opposite of my ex when this guy talked about this stuff.

he also told me how he attended michael jackson's funeral and was featured on the front page of his local newspaper for it (as well as interviewed on various radio stations across canada). half of me was wondering why the hell someone would fly short-notice to go to a celebrity's funeral, and then the other half wondered how fucked up our society is for a nobody to have made the front page of a newspaper for merely attending a celebrity's funeral.

also, he said he refuses to watch hbo/amc shows, but has never seen one. what the hell is up with that?

man, i really hope he has lost interest.

Just cancel any future plans with him? lol, don't suffer through it if you've got no interest. He sounds insufferable.

but he bought TICKETS! i can't cancel on that. i obviously will not be commiting to anything else though. i just hope he doesn't keep pressing.

Yeah just say you don't want to/can't go anymore and that is that ha.

Even if he bought tickets, he'll find someone else to go with.

It's his fault he bought tickets without even checking if you were still down for that event in the first place though...

true. i just hate ditching out on something. i'll try and think of a good way to get off the hook today and send him a message.

i just wonder if he got that we were that different through our date as much as i did. i mean, he didn't really give me many chances to speak. we were on it for like 2 hours and i didn't get a chance to talk about any of the music i like, when we talked so much about his lol. and music is probably the one subject i can talk about for hours.

he also said he wants to go into politics. it was like he was saying everything possible to make me run away lol.

lol, you're too polite. It's rude to make plans without someone else's input like that.
lol i know... i'm really bad with being brutally honest with people. it's probably my worst trait.

have you guys ever hooked up with someone quite different in height? i have no problem with guys shorter/taller than i, but i can't help but wonder if it would actually be awkward in bed or upon first meeting a hookup.

there's a SUPER cute guy that is interested in meeting up with me, and he is 6 inches shorter. i must admit that i have had an itch for a guy shorter than myself for quite a while, but i'm wondering if it will be a huge enough difference to make things awkward for us both when we actually meet ha. he's 33, a bear, and american (oo lala, foreign).

:3

do you guys have any experiences?

I've dated taller men and shorter women. It's all about positions and chemistry really.

Previous guy I dated was 6'9". I'm 5'11". The size disparity was hot. The physical attraction was there, but we didn't match all that well with personalities so we went our separate ways after a few evenings. It was certainly a unique experience... not too common to meet someone that tall, let alone gay as well.

Like with anything else, improvise!

Wow that sounds awful. Especially the bolded.

That sounds like someone I would also have nothing in common with. I don't really follow musicians (hardly listen to music AT ALL), and especially not pop singers (but MJ is great).

Try and talk to him less and less and maybe he gets the picture?

PS: Where in Canada do you live? We are taking a census here at Gaygaf...

yeah, i suppose so. his pics make him seem so adorable, so i probably will like the real thing haha. it's not like myspace pictures or something.

i think i might be a little more curious about how he would feel about me being that much taller, but if you're a 170cm tall 33 year old, you probably have been with taller guys haha. i guess i shouldn't worry about that. [he knows my height btw]

i live in calgary!

yeah, i don't have anything in common with him. i listen to beck, jaga jazzist, jan driver, strip steve, boys noize, mstrkrft, etc and my favourite shows are mad men, breaking bad, community and parks&rec... his favourite musicians are whitney houston, gaga, minogue, cher, with his favourite shows are two and a half men, the big bang theory, and big brother... lol. of course, he didn't get to hear half of that because he talked so much.

Currently dating a guy who is a good 15-20 cm taller than me. There has been no awkwardness or anything. Then again I really like it when a guy is taller than me.

Calgary, very nice :)

Two and half men *shudders* And now that weirdo Charlie Sheen has a new show. Those commercials for it drive me nuts.

I do like BB, thats my ONE guilty pleasure. (Which im allowed to have one guilty tv show pleasure). And I loves me HBO tv shows, cant live without em.

Its ok for people to have varying interests but when two people literally have ZERO common ground... yeah there ain't much point is there?

I've done taller and shorter and honestly it didn't make a big difference. It's not like 6 inches is that much of a difference.

You're better off.

Dear god yes. Everyone has their guilty pleasure but sounds like this guy just has terrible tastes.

A 7" difference in height -- me being the older, shorter one (duh) and more dominant of the two -- wasn't an issue in my experience; that was discussed briefly and gotten out of the way a very long time ago. I'm still a little self conscious about being short, but I don't let it actually hinder me.

Just gonna bump this and say New Zealand just past the first reading of our marriage equality bill. 80 - 40.

I hope they do, that way there would be a country in every inhabited continent except Asia (although Nepal and Vietnam are considering) that supports marriage equality!

She actually. She's super strict and I'm not sure how to put up my summary without her searching it in the web because she is that kind of teacher. She doesn't even wan't anyone to pee when her class is in session! Her class is like two hours long. And I can't drop the class because the last date of getting a refund is already out. T_T

Six inch height difference doesn't seem that big of a deal. I would imagine that it's quite common -- especially for straight people.

Bring an empty water bottle. I've had classes that went for 4 hours and we're standing the entire time.

She uses the Google? What was the question?

She uses the Google? What was the question?

She requires us to write a summary for all the articles she wants us to cover. And yes she did state that she will use the google to see if our summaries match anything online. I think ii's pretty hard to bring a water bottle in class since it is a small classroom and there is no way to pee without someone noticing. I am the only male student there too btw. So I wrote the summary and I submitted it and she has all these rules about things that are almost insignificant. I am not even kidding. I wanna be kinda vague because she is the type to uhm I dunno... she's just a *. So her rules are 1 to 2 paragraphs long summary. I wrote a summary with the main points and everything but she says she doesn't want a list of facts. I don't get it, I didn't make a list and I kept it short and concise since she only wants it to fit 1 page of paper.

I'm not sure how to ask your opinion if I wrote my summary right without posting my summary here.

Bragging post about Seattle! I wanna move here! (impressions after less than a day don't count but still this city is really nice)

Also took a walk through the gay neighborhood briefly. I'll have to come back on Friday before I can really judge/compare it to chicago's

Edit: oh slightly on topic height has never been an issue for me, taller or shorter. I'm 5'7, my ex was 6'2. I wouldn't have an issue with it either way.

Oh man 6 inches is nothing. Don't worry about it. It should be a non-issue. If you find him interesting, you should meet up with him, and see how it goes.

EDIT: What's with the K avatars? I thought you were all the same person.
