Jesus. How is Cube not on MTGO right now? You have it being played at the highest level, and todays update doesn't put it back online? Does WOTC hate money?

It does awkward things to the MTGO economy and you don't want it full time. They just added OG Ravnica drafts in to lead into RTR.

So over the years I have collected a pretty big collection of cards. I want to keep 5 or so decks that I can bring too and from school with me, but I have so many other cards that kind of just sit around a take up space. Is there any good places where I can sell the excess cards that I have?

Most websites buy bulk, unsorted cards at something like 5-7 dollars per 1000 cards. If you want to actually sort and price out your collection, you can get more money

So the Player's Championship started in the middle of the night here, and Twitch TV performs like ass through my company's firewall, so I have to either wait for Wizards to start posting videos on YouTube, or wait until I get home to start watching the archive.

I'm so pumped for Ravnica. I can't wait for the spoilers to start showing up and start brewing.

Jund is going to be a force; I can feel it. It was already a house in block, and the Golgari stuff that's being spoiled looks sick.

Hi guys, I'm a very new magic player and was wondering if anyone could spare some time for some deck critique. strictly MTGO (never owned a paper card) won 8/8 tonight playing in the Just for fun lobby. It's pretty standard mono-black vampires but I've tweaked it a bit.

The reason why I've chosen the 2x Elixirs and the Liliana's is to maximize the chance I will have a black card on the top of my deck when Vampire Nocturnus is playing.

One thing I've learned is that when you first build a deck, you should try as best you can to do as many 4-ofs as possible. This results in you playing less cards (variety-wise) and it helps to teach you more quickly which cards are good in your deck and which cards don't perform as well as you'd like.

I haven't really played much of the vampire archetype, so I can't comment directly on your deck, but that's just a suggestion I would make if you're interested in deck building in general.

Yeah, like Venfayth said, turn your deck into mostly 4-ofs. Consistency is a very important thing for a deck to have. It doesn't matter if you have a whole bunch of single cool cards if you have no idea when you'll be able to draw them. Bumping up your best cards to 4 of will make it so that you see them almost every game. That way, you can actually have a game plan/combo and execute it with a very high probability of completing said plan/combo.

You'll also want to have an idea of what your deck does. By this I mean that you should be able to, in a sentence, describe what your deck's win condition is (getting in lethal damage as quickly as possible, casting a bomb card/combo of cards, etc.) and how you will go about achieving the win condition. The next step is to identify which cards will help you achieve the win condition. Go down your deck list and for each of your cards, state the card's role in your overall plan. If you can't think of a purpose for a card, it probably shouldn't be in your deck.

I haven't played vampires either, but those are some general tips for pointing your deck in a good direction.

That said, your deck looks very very good for a casual deck. It has a relatively nice curve (albeit it's a bit high) and has enough removal to clear the way for your vampires. Again, make sure you get your mission statement for your deck down. Once you have that clear in your head the deck building becomes much easier.

Yep, I totally understand what you mean. Basically the win condition of the deck is to get a good bunch of bumped up flyers out by around turn 6. The deck was mainly 4's when I found it online and I played it for about a week but I found it to be a bit restrictive so the changes I've made are all to combat the weaknesses that I found whilst playing it.

I've thrown in 2 reset cards which are handy to have in mutilate, which can lead to a straight up win if the opponent is playing weeny or token and I have a blood artist out. I've also added 4 cards (2 planeswalkers) that allow me to shuffle my deck, as well as having 4 draw cards. The reason being is that Vampire Nocturnus is severely crippled when I have land at the top of my deck, so any chance to change the top card is priceless.

What I think I'm going to do is get rid of the 2x Crippling blight and bump up 2 of my different cards to 4x instead of 3x

They probably just didn't want to put yet another Blue planeswalker in one of those packs. Though what deck does one even build around Tibalt? A bunch of Madness cards? I dunno.

I'm still determined to break Tibalt.

So far I've found that he's somewhat decent in UR burning vengeance and terrible in reanimator (although the time I Rites'd an Angel of Glory's Rise, then followed it up with a Tibalt ultimate was very sweet).

I think tibalt may be the worst planeswalker ever printed. I have seen him do exactly jackshit every single time I have played against him in a draft. Even the various chandras are somewhat useful most of the time in limited. I'd take a vanilla two drop 2/2 over tibalt.

Why announce the next Duel Decks when the newest one hasn't even come out yet? I guess it could be cool but I don't have high hopes. It'll be hard to top the one that's about to come out I think.

Taking a mono-white Trading Post control build to PAX. I might enter a standard tourney with it just for giggles. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Any other Magic-GAF going to PAX?

Ahh! I should wait till I get home to watch anything because I have work to do, but I want to catch as much of the draft portion as I can before it switches to Modern and I don't know what the hell is going on.

Eh, modern/draft doesn't seem that exciting this time. :/ Glad to see Yasooka doing so well, I've liked him after playing tezzeret constantly.

Edit: Does the audio sound funky to anyone else?

Edit 2: It's back to normal now it's away from rich hagon, mic must have been fucked.

I'd be way too spooked that those cards are fakes.

They aren't, it's a reputable seller. I'm just afraid the reason the packs are "loose" is because the seller weighed everything and took out everything containing a foil.

EDIT: 34.99 for the same thing on the distributor's website, free shipping over $100. I think I'll bite for just over a dollar a pack; foil Rhystic Study.

Oh, I'm sure anything with loose packs is crap. I've heard nothing but horror stories from even big shops online with loose packs.
