Why not? Surely they had to offer him first team play, he was already part of Leverkusen first team.
Wait, Borini and who else is striker in Liverpool?
Just Borini and Suarez.

Think it leaves them pretty light tbh. Borini is only 21, and then Yesil is 18. Bit of a risk IMO.

Suarez, and it looks like we're going to bring through Morgan from the academy this season.

Oh yeah, then they really need another striker: Borini, new striker, Yesil. And Suárez in case of emergency, since he mostly plays as winger.

City's draw for the CL is so harsh.

5 days after they play away to Real, they host Arsenal.
4 days after they're home to Real, they go to Chelsea.
4 days after they're away to Dortmund (which could be the deciding game), they host United.

Tough luck.

Delighted with that.

£3.5m for one of the best DM's in Europe? Bought for £18m?

Either the selling fee is ridiculous (even with 12 months left), but mostly the buying fee was.

From where did you get the fixtures?

I'm planning a Madrid trip between late September to early November and Real's home matches are crucial to this trip!

MCFC fixtures: Sept 18 Real Madrid (a); Oct 3 Dortmund (h); Oct 24 Ajax (a); Nov 6 Ajax (h); Nov 21 Real Madrid (h); Dec 4 Dortmund (a)

Arsenal: Sept 18 Montpellier (a); Oct 3 Olympiakos (h); Oct 24 Schalke (h); Nov 6 Schalke (a); Nov 21 Montepllier (h); Dec 4 Olympiakos (a)

MUFC fixtures: Sept 19 Galatasaray (h); Oct 2 Cluj (a); Oct 23 Braga (h); Nov 7 Braga (a); Nov 20 Galatasaray (a); Dec 5 Cluj (h)

Chelsea: Sept 19 Juventus (h); Oct 2 Nordsjaelland (a); Oct 23 Shakhtar (a); Nov 7 Shakhtar (h); Nov 20 Juve (a); Dec 5 Nordsjaelland (h)

Fuck me, our striking options are laughable, and even moreso now we're letting Carroll go to West Ham on loan (without a commitment to buy according to the BBC's Ben Smith).

Happy Morgan gets a start though, a goal for him tonight would be amazing.

According to BBC... Carroll is going on loan to West Ham with no option to buy. That's pretty bad news. How are we going to afford a striker now?

Maybe the rumours of a bid for Llorente aren't far off the mark then?

Struggling to think why we would have agreed to a loan without an option to buy =

United's CL/PL fixture combo.

15 Sep Wigan (H)
19 Sep Galatasaray (H)
23 Sep Liverpool (A)
29 Sep Tottenham (H)
02 Oct Cluj (A)
07 Oct Newcastle (A)
20 Oct Stoke City (H)
23 Oct Braga (H)
28 Oct Chelsea (A)
03 Nov Arsenal (H)
07 Nov Braga (A)
10 Nov Aston Villa (A)
17 Nov Norwich (A)
20 Nov Galatasary (A)
24 Nov QPR (H)
28 Nov West Ham (H)
01 Dec Reading (A)
05 Dec Cluj (H)
08 Dec Man City (A)

We are really lucky with the draw. If we had got some tougher teams this run of fixtures would look horrid. It's still gonna mean we need to use the squad to the max because we have tough league games followed/preceding the CL games, but fortunately the CL opposition isn't as tough as it might have been.

Try and raise his price for the next year, I guess?

He's a certain starter at West Ham and Fat Sam's style should suit Carroll.

Migliaccio apparently to Fiorentina. Not too happy with that, although he's not a fantastic midfielder he's one of the few that will always fight his heart out. Bought Luigi Giorgi and still looking for a left back, better fucking get one cause it looks horrible down there.

:( And I was rooting for Copenhagen against Lille, too.

Hey I didn't say who I was cheering for. That Zenit win in the Europa League a few years back was fantastic, was cheering for you all the way and hope you can do good again. I'm a pessimist though and Belgian teams doing well is bad news for Danish football.

A loan deal for Carroll is the only thing that would drive his price up. He needs time on the pitch and to perform. West Ham are never going to give you a big fee so you don't want a buy option with them anyway.

As for Llorente isn't he too expensive? I remember the asking fee for him being absurd.

We might be waiting until January.

I don't have a fucking clue; the only reason we'd let Carroll go out on loan is because we want to bring a new attacking option in with fairly hefty wages.

I saw an article that said De Jong to Milan for only €4.5m. Are you fucking kidding me, Marwood?! Is a player even worth selling for that little?

The way Messi looks at Cristiano...priceless.

Interesting...

Essien's lost it, Arsenal should steer well clear of him. I imagine Tiote or Cabaye is another one of those three, perhaps the both of them. Ligue 1 player has to be that Montpellier defender.

Hope the Carroll deal includes an agreement that he can't play against us.

Essien? Fuck off Wenger....

I can't see Montpellier wanting to do business with us now that we are in the same CL group.

Pretty tough sell.

Not that great a player tbh, and DM isn't a flashy position. Into last few months of contract and it's clear he won't be signing a new one so basically, Milan know City have to sell now or never. And the Gold Tie.

What would be a "fair value" for De Jong? £10m? Then consider Milan know City don't really want him, and that he's on a free before too long.

Marwood's done well just to get him out the door.

I don't understand why when a new manager enters a club they immediately feel the need to stamp their authority on the club and alienate players. What exactly was the point of Rodgers treating Carroll like a piece of shit before he even walked through the gates of Anfield? Don't get me wrong, I think he's a shit footballer, but Carroll was starting to show some form at the end of last season, he wanted to stay and fight for his place, and he does at least offer something different. AVB is doing the same to Van der Vaart at Tottenham - one of their best players last season.

I'm not that worried about Anderlecht, to be honest. We beat them 3-1 both times in the Europa League two years ago and we are significantly stronger than we were then. Malaga scares me more.

Guys where can I find the the Champions League fixtures date and times?

It is really important!

UEFA still have not updated their website...
