I don't think there's much else I could say that would interest you right now, so -

The official Release Date for Torchlight II is Thursday, September 20th, 2012.

3 weeks away!

We'll announce it 'more' officially and bigger tomorrow.

You know first!

Thank all of you for being an awesome and patient community :)

We look forward to getting this into your hands!

If you're at PAX over the weekend, drop by and say hi and play the game. Loads of Runic folk will be there. I'll be there all the time!

I won't be doing a Not A Blog tomorrow, hopefully you'll understand!

Thanks all. Love ya.

Travis

Literally the very end of Summer 2012, lol
Time to turn hype to max.

That's about what I expecting when they said they were announcing at PAX. Still looking forward to the game even though I have more games to play right now than I can really deal with. I'll make time for TL 2.

It was a fine effort sidestepping Diablo III... but you stumbled past that and right into the week between Borderlands 2 and Mists of Pandaria. What the hell, Torchlight 2, what the hell?

lol, fuck that, not waiting that long.

I already have it pre-ordered too. Not gonna bother installing it.

No longer interested in this game. You had your chance Runic, and ya blew it.

If you're really not interested you can contact Steam support and get a refund.

You can cancel Steam pre-orders provided the request is processed prior to the release date (i.e. do it now).

Edit: Beaten.

I didn't pay for it, I traded someone an extra CS:GO beta key for it.

Oh.

Finally. Now to hurry up and beat diablo 3 lol.

Yep pretty much what i was thinking....... Shouldnt be to hard with the Super nerf from 1.04 lol.

Looking forward to this game only played a couple hours of TL 1 might have to get into it a bit more, will i need to follow the story from 1 ? i find getting into a game with just written text kinda hard... :-/

You traded something of no real long lasting value for a full game and you're not even going to install it? Wow...

Probably not right away. There are other games that have my attention now. TL2 is going straight into the backlog unless a bunch of people on my Steam friend's list start playing it.
After all this time, 3 more weeks is where you put your foot down?
I lost most of my interest in it over two months ago. I was excited when they were expecting to release the game mid-June.

To further explain my issue:
<tomat> hey, its worded crudely
<tomat> but I still stand by it
<tomat> They said Mid-June first. Pushed it back a month, and then pushed it back another month.
<tomat> I'm in the Path of Exile beta now, and there are more games coming out soon that I'm interested in. My interest in TL2 could not possibly be any lower than it is now.

Put...It...IN ME

Yes!
Yes!
Yes!

Diablo 3, you have had your day in the sun, now back to the shadows with you! BACK!

Same - like I give a shit about Torchlight 2 when Mists is coming out like 4 days later. They really blew it with this release date.

lol at the release date whiners.

"THEY MISSED THEIR WINDOW"

Bitch, please. If it's a quality product and going for $20, why the fuck does it matter exactly when it comes out?

Because, for myself and Freakinchair at least, there are more interesting games coming out at the same time. I'm going to be devoting time to other games instead of TL2. I had hoped to be playing TL2 sometime between June and August, but that never happened.

Isn't September 20 like the last day of Summer?

And even though it's been delayed. It's less than a month from now. That's nothing.

But like you said, it's $20 for a game I'll probably enjoy more than most of the $60 games I've gotten recently.

What a weird way to look at video games. Do you just have to have something to play all the time regardless of quality to the point that Torchlight 2 would have been just a stopgap for you even if it turned out to be lame?

Alternatively, you're perfectly happy skipping awesome games (assuming Torchlight 2 is indeed awesome) because they didn't come out within some arbitrary window?

I don't think being in favor of playing one game over another game with similar release dates is all that weird. I already play enough games at once as is, I'm trying to cut down on that because I never end up finishing anything because of that. TL2 might be a great game, but I have no interest in playing it at the moment (partially because of the constant delays, and the fact that I have Path of Exile which has scratched my loot game itch).

I'm very happy but kinda annoyed since I got Borderlands 2 on preorder and I'll focus on that first :(
