New Multiplayer Halo 4 screenshots and video

I could see how people would be used to that stuff from COD and BF, and want it in Halo, too, just to make it easier to switch between games. What I don't get is the people who think those features are inherently better, or better for Halo.

Yeah I understand but as Over said, if you want these things in Halo, you just don't get the game at all.

Yeah, that's not it. I dislike COD MP and have been gaming since the early 80's. Try again.

Call of Duty... Battlefield.. Let's be honest, they're basically the same.
 
Why does it anger you people so much that we want ADS? It's a simple request. The way it stands now Halo reminds me of a KB/M shooter minus the KB/M. There is no ADS in CS:GO either and I wish there was and no one gets mad about that when I bring it up, but Halo "Purists" freak out and get defensive. Why? Relax, it's just a game.

It doesn't anger me. It actually confuses me because it's damn stupid. It simply doesn't fit the style and gameplay of the Halo games. At all.

Flag assassinations are a great addition. And Exile looks like a decent map. I hope Halo 4 BTB turns out to be as fun as Halo 2 BTB was.

Uh no their not. COD is just a reskinned Quake game with ADS. It's arcadey to the point of turning people away. Battlefield is a lot more realism oriented with an emphasis on tactics.

No, they're not. One is larger maps with vehicular combat - to keep it simple. And BF soldiers don't need to take a breather after running only 5 feet. And I get Halo, Halo just needs its Combat Evolved. IMO of course.

You think that in a game where mobility is key ADS would be good thing to implement? With the current system you can jump around, crouch, rub one out, and move around really fast while aiming and shooting. And then there's the problem of people taking much longer to kill than in military shooters. In CoD or BF you can ADS, kill someone quickly and move on. In Halo is can easily take multiple seconds to kill someone so during this time you're both practically standing still while shooting at each other.

It does not work for Halo.

The basics of the games are pretty much the same though. And if you deny that, you're just lying to yourselves.
 
cant really understand how in one day 343 studios were unknown, then they are one of the best developers in the world ?

Never have been impressed by bungie too much, but they are doing really amazing.

Indeed. Cannot wait to see 343i using 720 tech. I am sure they will make it sing from day 1.

I can't wait to see what they do with the Halo series on NextGen hardware. I'm hoping for more physics and destructible environments. Imagine you spartan armor showing physical damage as you play. You could see if the enemy was close to death via their armor condition. Imagine blowing holes into cliff walls with a vehicle to gain access to a tunnel where the flag carrier is running. Hopes and dreams man..... Hopes and dreams.

In games with ADS, I am still able to jump and move around whilst shooting. It's just another skill that can be used, don't understand why it angers people.
 
All the footage I've seen of halo 4 until now have looked very pretty. But I can't get over how ugly the ground looks on that map, clearly because there isn't any AF in effect. Just turns it into a blurry brown/green mess imo.

Still think the game will looks amazing, but that specific map really need some AF.

I remember when they were trying to do this with Halo 2. Would be cool I think.

Yes, you can still jump and move around while aiming down sight but compared to normal movement in Halo you might as well be standing still.

These are cool ideas. The maps in Halo to this point have felt really static and pre-baked. Sure, there are some objects here and there that react to gunfire and melees or whatever but I would like to see full-fledged environmental wear and damage modelling, etc...
 
Anything that's new and that wasn't identical to Halo CE angers these people.

Not true at all, Halo is not built with ADS in mind and if it was it would break the flow of the game. Weapons would feel useless when not in ADS like they do in 90% of titles that support ADS.

Its redundant not only from a canon point of view but also a gameplay point of view.

I have to wonder if people who want ADS in halo even have any concept of how halo games play in multiplayer. Its a god awful feature that needs halo needs to take a very wide berth from.
 
Forge is what killed Reach mp IMO

A poor lineup of maps out of the box, plus Bungie expecting the Forge Community to bail them out is what made is die. If they added more variety to Forge, then better maps would come out. The Community Map stuff was a great idea but the lack of Forge varieties made many of them suck.

I spent a crazy number of hours making maps in Reach and I will do the same for Halo 4. 343i just need to make sure that teh out of box maps are utterly awesome.
 
Let's wait till Forge is fully revealed to make that call.

Fully revealed? Its the same as Reach but with 3 maps instead of one giant one and new shadowing technique. Nothing as changed really.

All maps in each area will still all look the same.
 
what killed it for me was the armor abilities, but to each their own i guess. Halo 4 looks like it's going to get worse before it gets better.
I hate armor lock and the Jet pack with passion but I rather endure both of them then play in those forge map that plague matchmaking...and like others have said the standard maps suck so much compared to h2 and h3.
 

There's no way the game will look that good on your tv. Halo screenshots always look awesome on a computer monitor but when blown up on a tv it looks terrible. I understand it's a technical limitation but still disappointing. If it ends up looking like those screens then I'll throw my ps3 in the trash.
