Mass Effect 3: Leviathan Trailer [Out Now]

Alright, finished. Pretty good. Pretty, pretty good.

One thing Leviathan did manage to do is reassure me that, even within the confines of Mass Effect 3's muddled-to-awful narrative and the now finished Shepard story arc, I'm still keen on the series. And I'll be sure to buy Omega too.

Finished. Really good.

It manages to make ME3 better overall and should have been part of the game.
Adds a lot to the story. ME3s ending makes more sense now.

After those nifty segments in the guys office, I'm certainly interested in the Citadel DLC as well.

Yeah, new players will certainly be more prepared for the ending and won't be quite as WTF if they paid attention to Leviathan.

As noted by other users, there appears to be both an Omega and Citadel DLC coming.

Lev001 to Lev004 are all the locations of Leviathan. Then there's Omg000 to Omg004 (with OmgHub), and Cit001 to Cit004, with the mysterious CitHot.

Omega DLC would be huge. Was that known? Big news, one would say almost new thread worthy...

I loved Omega in ME2. Best area of the game along with Ilium. Can't wait to see how it looks with the improved ME3 engine.

But I seriously doubt the Omega hub of ME3 will be the same size as the ME2 one though. It's just DLC after all. I guess it will be something like the Afterlife club only.

I imagine any hub in the DLC will be smaller, though it will be interesting to see how they update it like the changes we got in ME3.

The Citadel on ME3 looked like a futuristic space ship compared to the Citadel in ME1 which was more themed to the pulp sci-fi look of the first game. And walking into Omega for the first time was pretty sweet in ME2, had a real neat galactic underworld feel to the place, shame there weren't any hubs in ME3 and we got stuck to the Citadel.

Someone joked in one of the ME3 threads that all the DLC should tie-in together to unlock some ending where
Shep outright defeats the reapers without having to accept the Starchild's choices
. Now I want that to happen. I wonder what the Citadel DLC would be?

Citadel DLC : Track the
Catalyst AI on the Citadel to shut him down before the Crucible can dock and save the galaxy from space magic.

Two Things I hated in this DLC:

1: Shepard and Crew not knowing what is going on
and why everybody is acting so strange on the spacestation just minutes after the doctor was killed.

2: Of course Bioware had to put another horde mode sequence ( Shep! - hold back the bad guys while I fix this space crap ) in there. Hated those in all of ME3.

To be fair,
Reapers indoctrination doesn't really work the same as the Leviathan one. Leviathan "indoctrination" seems primitive, making people act like mindless zombies, even talking through them, they are juste empty shells, while the Reapers indoctrination lets their targets continue to act like "normal", leave them with their memory, just bent to the will of the Reapers.

That's the only reason i see anyway.

Didn´t stop me from screaming at my television. It felt like watching a really bad episode of CSI or whatever - where you know who the murder is after five minutes and you just watch the "experts" acting like retards and not having a clue.

But - I have to say it again - great DLC. Id put it behind Kasumi and Shadow broker on a really good third place.

I thought it was great overall.. Like others said, the whole retard mentality thing in the beginning really put me off. What I also didn't like was needing to search the same lab twice, and lastly, the additional EMS basically does nothing.

It's still a great DLC and I'd put it right up there with the best ME2 DLCs.

I played it again and this time I
noticed that you can get into the restricted crew area on the mining facility. The personel ID you need is right next to where you enter the medbay (which is a point of no return) so it's super easy to miss

Got it, finished it.

It seems like I have been infected by the EatChildren virus, where no matter how disappointed I am with Mass Effect series I just can't seem to resist it. Not gonna buy those novels though :p

Pretty satisfied. Although something struck me as I completed it, I thought it was real easy for some reason, even when the game pulling out all sorts of special circumstances/conditions to finish the missions and I am playing it at Insanity.

Too bad the last section was so incredibly short. The atmosphere was nice.

I don't know how anyone could classify it as "easy to miss" since the game pretty much marked it down with a pointer when you enter the room, hahaha.

Nothing real special behind the door it unlocks though.

Agreed, I don't regret spending 10 bucks on this DLC. Actually my dissatisfaction with the ending has subsided for the most part and doesn't change the fact that I still enjoy the Mass Effect Universe immensely. I thought having story DLC after I already finished the game would suck, but it's alright - really enjoyed Leviathan.

Well, I guess I wasn't paying enough attention the first time :P
It's easy to get into the habit of pressing the interact button on everything without thinking too much about it and then just continuing on.

Oh boy... you weren't there back in march/april when everyone was whining about the famous "Speculations for everyone!".

Oh I was. But there is a big difference between making something vague on purpose and being shitty writers.

I may be LTTP with this question, but is there a choices comic for ME3 yet?

Nope, the WiiU version is getting one so following their previous releases the PS3/360 should get it afterwards like the 360 got the PS3 comic later.

Gotcha, thanks. After all the positive reviews from GAF I'm downloading Leviathan now. This time
I hope I won't have to fuck Wrex up since I'm not going to shoot Mordin in the back....

Ok, I watched this on youtube.

Good:
-graphics and art

OK:
-the final combat scenario

BAD:
-writing. It's very weak, bordeline stupid. Not subtle at all, packs no punch and full of cliches. Previous ME games had weak writing in some places but it wasn't distracting. Watching this I was disgusted and bored.

Verdict:
Elvis has left the building.

Just finished it. My sentiments are pretty much the same. Um, I guess my recommendation is to buy this if it means a better chance of Omega and Citadel content. I like reading the planet info, and going to places like the Vorcha homeworld was fun even if it was just for scanning. Would have been nice to land on Illium too, but it wouldn't have fit with the content.

So here is my question. My saved game was right at the beginning of my second play through. I have played through a few of the missions but I still do not have the email at my terminal to start the dlc. How far into the game do I need to go before it shows up?

Palaven's moon.

Folk data mining the Leviathan DLC found this image:

dlc_omega_aria_fleetcfuwy.png

Its data name is DLC_Omega_Aria_Fleet.

Simply more confirmation that Omega DLC is or was coming.

Citadel to be post-campaign? That's my idea.

Doubt it. If I recall correctly, BioWare stated they had no plans for post-ending DLC, and given their continued ambivalence to lingering complaints don't seem interested in addressing the post-ending state.

Good sleuthing, and thanks for the updates, EatChildren. I'm getting a bit too excited by the thought of new a Citadel-specific mission in new locations.

BioWare Montreal teased the next DLC at their Montreal Comic-Con panel.

Montreal did a lot of work on Mass Effect 3. They're probably doing all the DLC.

I have no idea what it is. It was a slide slipped into their panel, which was about ME3's development. They didn't explain what the DLC would be exactly.

The image is so small and shitty I don't really know what to take from it. But if I had to try and make some tangible connection to the universe, the mound shapes on whatever it is wouldn't be out of place on a hive-like Collector construct.
