Dominic Monaghan? Elijah Wood? Hayden Christensen?

None of the above.. although I love Shameless.

What HBO shows do you enjoy?

In terms of shows that were cancelled? I really liked Rome and Carnivale, both of which ended prematurely. Same with Deadwood which I hope to start soon. I also really like Boardwalk Empire, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Game of Thrones among others...I'll pretty much watch whatever HBO produces.

Enlightened? :D

Same, I love Boardwalk Empire and Curb is fantastic. I wish I had more time to go back, I'd probably go through the entirety of sopranos or six feet under

I've been meaning to finish Rome for a while, but those box sets are pretty expensive. At least last time I checked. Is that show out on blu-ray? Does that even matter?

Oh and there are plenty of HBO shows that just cover subjects I'm plain not interested in. Stuff like Treme, The Sopranos, Hung etc.

Yep, Rome is on Blu ray.

And, at least in my experience, it's often the shows that cover subjects that I'm not interested in that turn out to be the biggest surprises!

Hadn't heard of it. Reading up about it the premise doesn't seem immediately up my alley but I wouldn't be opposed to giving it a watch.

I bought the sets during Amazon's black Friday sale a few years back. Can't speak to the blu-ray versions, unfortunately.

Fair point. I suppose it was a bit hyperbolic to say as the same is true for me, but I find the majority of HBO shows I've given a shot watching I've enjoyed.

So my friend tried to hook me up with a friend of his tonight.....he really didn't seem that interested in me at all.....sigh....

he's missing out and there are a ton of guys in this world for you.

there's something better in store for you :)

I'm two months into seeing someone. Great, adventurous playful first month. Rotten, uncommunicative, crappy second month. I'm 99% sure I want to say goodbye and move on.

This is literally the longest I've seen anyone, and haven't done this before. I know, I know, two months is nothing. I'm still a novice though, so it's a big deal in my head for now. Any advice mi amigos? (on how to handle the 'talk')

Just tell him its not working out. Be honest. Tell him it was a great beginning, but that there are too many issues between the two of you to make this a genuine connection. DO NOT GO INTO IT WITH A HOLIER THAN THOUGH mentality, because I guarantee he will bring up your shortcomings which he has chosen to overlook. Those are always incredibly uncomfortable to hear...and I guarantee there will be some as no one is perfect. Be clear to him on the reasons you have chosen to end the relationship (so you need to be clear on these to yourself as well). Make sure that youre ending the relationship for legitimate reasons and not some internalized fear of commitment (this being your longest relationship makes me curios in that regard).

Im debating whether you should do this in public or in private though. Two months is very little time, and I cant see him making a scene like crying and stuff, but that decision is yours to make.

It's a beautiful series that really resonates with me, but I know that there are others who can't stand it. Hopefully, if you decide to watch it, you'll fall into the former category.

Video would be much better with real drag queens performing and throwing shade.

edit: for a great snippet on shade, reading, kiki please watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_mPXozlU6Y

Yeah definitely, the Scissors Sisters was just the first thing to pop in my head when I read the phrase "kiki". I also like staring at Babydaddy.

Okay.. best thing about Hurricane Isaac?

The power is out, sure, but there are electrical workers from all over the country here restoring power to different parts of the city. Delicious, rough-looking, scruffy men.. driving around, walking the streets, in the shops.. everywhere.

We had a crew from Kentucky working next to our building for half the day. Two of them in particular were of a certain hot rednecky, Bo Duke-like quality. HylianGreg and I sat out on the balcony and happily watched them do their thing. The term that comes to mind is "oomphalicious," hehe..

Speaking of The Boardwalk Empire, Its silly but Nook was one of my relatives because one of his kids or something married one of my cousins from back then. Its interesting on house my families history dates back on building and being involved in this show. But some of the stuff is too Hollywood out.

The power is still out? Geez.. you think they would have prepared for this better. Best of luck to you guys.

Steve Buscemi is a relative of yours? Or is it the character that Nucky is based that you're related to?

It's over 90% back at this point. I'm actually impressed that such a large portion of the city is back up and running. You could tell that everyone had their shit together this time around; as soon as the storm cleared away, the city was flooded with linemen from all over the country. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing them working somewhere; it was a real treat to watch. :)

Were any of them shirtless? :)

A few were, but there was only one that I wanted to see.. probably mid-twenties. Really nice pecs and shoulders, flat tummy. He had just his jeans and a ballcap on. If you like country boys, you would've liked this week, haha!

Sounds fun. Unfortunately, there are no hurricanes where I live. I think I need to move to a city near the ocean. :D

Hurricanes are no fun.. or at least you should move to the NorthEast where even if hurricanes hit, they're usually no big deal.

The hurricanes themselves obviously aren't fun, but the aftermath must be, if there are shirtless hunks walking around all over the place. :O

Ughh the hurricane we had in NJ last year was SOOOOOO stupid. The only thing we had to worry is about the tornado tails that kept forming.

Alright, I seriously doubt this guy is interested.

Yeah, he's been gone in New York but I've noticed he's been logged on to okcupid while he was away so it's not like he didn't have Internet access while he was there. Sent him a message when his trip was about to be over and got a delayed response that wasn't particularly communicative in anyway. Sent another message asking if he's finally back, haven't heard anything.

Fuck the dating game.

Oh well. On to the next one.
