The only thing worse than whining about a tv show is whining about whining about a tv show. And the only thing worse than that is doing so and getting paid for it.

(yes, I recognize the irony in whining about whining about whining about a tv show)

It's probably the only show I've ever seen where each successive season is better than the preceding one.

The Shield gets better and better throughout all of its seasons. And the ending is god tier.

The Shield is a clear step below other top-tier shows in writing, acting, and cinematography, but I certainly think that you should stick with it. Great series regardless.

Thanks guys, I will continue.

One more Gilligan interview:
- Salon.com: "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan looks back -- and ahead to the last eight episodes

Good because I was going to start whining if you didn't note the irony of it. ;)

I can see his point to some extent - the amount of scrutiny that a show like BB undergoes these days is a little absurd. However, it's not as if the value of the any program changes the closer we examine it.

I just find it funny sometimes how every new person who watches the show has the same reaction about her. For me at least, I've changed

I always wonder if the Sky haters are the people who saw the entire 3 / 4 seasons in a short time. 3 of my friends also 'hate' her (marathon the show) while other people that I know that saw it since it started to air never thought bad of her.

I imagine that seeing all the episodes quickly might make you dislike her more. It probably makes no sense (IT DOES IN MY HEAD) but yeah.

Sky <3

No, no, no, man, Resident Evil 4 takes it by a long shot.
No, man, seriously, that chick? The one you gotta rescue? She's smoking, bro. And then you're like the last undead dude on Earth, so how can you not be dipping into that?

:lol :lol Badger is so good.

first of all, the "sky haters" is like the vast majority of people who watch this show if forums all across the internet/real life anecdotal evidence is anything to go by. So it's probably a ton of people from both categories.

SECONDLY, I watched from start and am the pioneer of the movement. I think it makes it worse if you watched from the front actually, because back when she was more annoying (earlier seasons), it festered between episodes. As opposed to marathonning where you don't have to think about it much and just keep watching.

I'm guessing that most of you who've never seen mid-90s Odenkirk have never seen Mr. Show. What a shame.

Really though, the guy has had some sort of role in a significant percentage of the comedic works worth a shit over the last twenty years or so. He's a genius.

Was watching 4.02.

Walt tells Mike 'we could be next' (referring to Gus killing them). He asks him if what he did to Victor was some sort of message.

Walt references that later in Hazard Pay. Also, Mike tells him 'you've got the job you wanted, you should be happy about that.'

And finally, Mike beats up Walter in the bar. He had his death coming, you don't fuck with Heisenberg twice!

edit:

haha, Skyler goes to Walt's house, he opens the door but only shows half his face to hide his black eye.

Foreshadowing Gus's death? :p

Wow. I knew Cranston and Odenkirk were Seinfeld alums, but not Skyler. Need to quick google who she played... and what a surprise. She was annoying then as she was in Deadwood and Breaking Bad. :)

Could not have said it better.

Anyone here who enjoys Bob Odenkirk's work as Saul Goodman absolutely must check out The Larry Sanders Show, in which he plays a similarly recurrent role. To give you an idea, here is my TV Top 5 of all time in no particular order:

Breaking Bad
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Lost
Justified
The Larry Sanders Show

hmmm ok.. top 5 fav :

-Mad Men
-24
-LOST
-Breaking Bad
-Battlestar Galactica

Coincidentally, or not so much, these are 5/6 series I've gone through multiple times. Funny how that works.
